The ROM feels great. Very smooth!! I've noticed some screen tearing though that's about it. Gonna try to edit the build.prop and see if I can improve it. Have you (or anyone else) noticed that too?
Also I can't seem to get HALO working. Is that due to the porting maybe?

Yeah, i did notice a little bit of screen tearing. It's still a work in progess.
Try my XenonHD port: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2437986

Backup your EFS partitions with @autoprime's flashable zip: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2164749
Flash one of @morrislee's Mako hybrid modems: http://www.mediafire.com/folder/8sznqkfgaqcl1/V2
I've been using his 33/84 hybrid modem with XenonHD and i'm having great results.
If your GPS has issues, or takes a long time to lock-on, flash your EFS partition backup after flashing the hybrid modem.

Ignore the HALO situation, got it sorted. I might try Xenon, it seems cool but so var uXylon is great. I feel like Xenon has a lot that I wouldn't use lol. Also I've had bad luck with the hybrid modems. The good old Rogers JB gives me great LTE coverage with uXylon.

How do I get the OTA? And what ROM do I have to be on for the OTA to come up? Or find my phone? Is there a flashable zip?

HOW TO PORT ROMs TO THE OPTIMUS G E970
Code:
[CENTER][COLOR="Red"][B]This guide is provided for reference only. I, defcondev, will not be held liable
for any damage to your device, physical or software-wise.[/B][/CENTER][/COLOR]
PREFACE
This guide is intended for those who would like to port ROMs from devices such as the Nexus 4 to the Optimus G E970, as well as port ROMs from other Optimus G variants, such as the E975 & E973.
ROMs for the above devices will usually already boot on E970's with the "getprop("ro,product.device")" assert removed from the updater-script
Click to collapse
Nexus 4 ROMs to E970
1. Start by taking the ROM you want to port,
open the updater-script in META-INF\com\google\android with Notepad++ & remove the following line located at the top of the script
Code:
assert(getprop("ro.product.device") == "e975" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "e975");
Click to collapse
2. Download the "N4_Port_Package" ZIP attached to this post, this ZIP contains all of the libs & firmware you will need.
Use 7-zip and drag the files from the ZIP you downloaded into their corresponding folders in the ROM you're trying to port. Don't decompress the ZIP, as then you'll have to re-sign it before you can flash.
Click to collapse
3. Open the ZIP of the ROM your're trying to port with 7-zip; delete boot.img
-Grab a working boot.img, a good one is dvhexer's CM10.1 Alternate for 4.2.2 ROMs, or his CM10.2 Alternate for 4.3 ROMs.
LINKS:dvhexer's CM10.1 Alternate or dvhexer's CM10.2 Alternate
Click to collapse
4. Open the framework-res.apk from the ROM you want to port using 7-zip, and drag "storage_list.xml" into the folder res\xml, overwriting the original. (storage_list.xml is in the root of the N4_Port_Package ZIP)
Click to collapse
NOTE: The external SD header in SETTINGS>>STORAGE may show up as a random string (invalid SIM, Issued by, etc), if this happens for you, you'll have to decompile framework-res.apk from the ROM you wish to port & manually add the External SD lines in storage_list.xml and then recompile. I will touch on this later tonight & update this guide.
Click to collapse
5. Open build.prop in the ROM your're trying to port and change the device values to match your e970, use a build.prop from a ROM made for the e970 for reference.

Click to collapse

I've never had the camera not work coming from mako source, actually from any source so far. You do have gallery 2/4.apk in your end result right?
I know its not named camera, it's a bit retarded. You don't need gapps for a camera though.
Check your system/app folder and make sure gallery2 . gallery4 are in there from your port source, and in your final build.
-edit- and if you're coming from a CM based rom, it might be that they opted to use focal, in which case look for "focal.apk" which is also a camera app.
-edit2- worst, worse case, I'll attach gallery 2 and gallery 4 apks, upload slow but they're on the way.

I'm actually unsure about porting stock ROMs, theres a lot of framework differences from AOSP :/
Early Merry Christmas folks!
I fixed my cracked screen LGOG so I'm sorta back.
This is pure AOSP with Houstonns wonderfully smooth Adreno kernel. Cheers Houstonn!
I'll add a faux-geeb kernel if its requested enough but this Adreno kernel is soooooo smooth.
AT&T phones prolly need nfc fix, (linked below).
Please fill the thread up with useful information on what's working and what's not.
Enjoy!

I'll look into this, thanks for the heads up!
Amazing ROM! I just flashed this on my brothers lg optimus g e970 coming from Houston's v3 ever since it came out. It is blazing fast even when underclocked. I'm a bit jealous it seems to run faster than my n4 running purity 4.4.1 + Franco kernel
Edit: how can I change the app drawer size to 5×4 like my n4? Its still set at 5×5 on this ROM and in Houston's ROM as well. I already updated the Google search and still nothing. I was wondering if the dpi is modded

Can anyone else confirm sd-ext isn't working?
I'm uploading a new build with small changes only for extsdcard fix attempt.
If the previous rom works fine for you, or if you don't have an sdcard (Canadian phones) you don't need to update to this.

LTE is not working with this ROM. Followed directions as stated in the OP. Anybody else having this problem? Other than the lack of LTE, this ROM is much smoother than the others. I love it.

LTE is working fine for me
Yeah LTE is acting weird for me as well. It will switch to it when I change the network mode and then switch back to Hespa as soon as I close out of the menu.
---------- Post added at 12:40 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:36 AM ----------
Ok try this.. Change to the last option under mobile networks. The one with LTE auto in it. Then instead of hitting back hit the home softkey and see if it sticks. It did on mine.
---------- Post added at 12:44 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:40 AM ----------
Still doesn't stick through a reboot though.

I play mc5 on this ROM and it isn't that bad maybe you should download a CPU manager to check the clock speed I find that sometimes it under clocks to 1.1 GHz
