Thnx!
You really helped me out.
Flashing back to stock went well but my g2 still didn't boot fully (bootloop).
After i found your thread and did a factory reset on my g2 it booted again!

Ok, so I got my Electrify a few days ago, rooted it and everything went fine. Worked for about a day, but then the battery died. I charged it, but now it sticks on the Dual Core boot logo, wont boot at all. I'm terrified.
Can anyone help?
I've tried running Android Recovery (I get "Failed to boot 2")
I've tried messing around in FastBoot and with RDB, but I'm getting nowhere.
I'm desperate, and as the Electrify is new, I'm not having any luck finding in-depth help.
Anyone? You may email me if you'd rather communicate that way.

Should not be in dev section. Mod please move.

I would try this first, it couldn't hurt.
Perform a factory reset using external keys
Note: It is highly recommended you use the above factory reset using the settings. If you are unable to navigate through the menu to perform a factory data reset, you can follow the steps outlined below:
Power off the phone, press and hold volume down button, press power button
Screen will come up with "Fastboot", press Vol down key to cycle through choices until you get "Android Recovery", then press Vol up key
Wait for the "triangle ! / Android" screen then go on to step 4
Press both Vol up and Vol down key simultaneously. A menu will come up
Tap on Vol down key until "wipe data/factory reset" is highlighted, and tap Power key. Another Confirmation screen will come. Tap on Vol down key until coming to Yes and tap Power key
After userdata is cleared, the "reboot system now" option will be highlighted by Default. Tap Power key
Phone will reboot to initial setup screen.
Hope this helps.
If you didnt put the 2.3.5 update on the phone (and I am assuming you didnt), then grab the Electrify SBF here and follow the instructions.
If you DID put 2.3.5 on the phone I have the SBF for that also, PM me for the link..
be aware 2.3.5 will lock your bootloader and there is no way to unlock at this time.
Thanks everyone. Got it fixed.
How did you get it fixed. I have the same problem... "Failed to boot 2" in recovery? need help. Photon on 2.3.5.... 254_3

umm... there's no SBF available for 2.3.5 users and you CANNOT use the 2.3.4 SBFs. i assume you don't have an unlocked bootloader and upgraded to 2.3.5 using an unlocked method.
give this a try... http://www.motosunfire.com/system/
it worked for another guy. so it should for you given it's only your system that's messed up. also if this doesn't work do a factory reset from the recovery if you can get into it. then try again.
Thanks. I'll give it a shot.

you're doing this with 2.3.5? and not 2.3.4? locked bootloader yeah?
I wanted to go back to stock I was running the AOKP rom and I forgot to do a factory reset before flassing SBF and now I'm stuck on a boot loop .
I tried reflashing again same results.
Is there a way to fix this or I'm SOL?
Thanks for your help!
when you power on, hold power and volume down until the menu comes up. Press volume down til you see android recovery, press volume up to select. When you see the Android and yellow triangle, press volume down and volume up at the same time to open stock recovery. Factory reset from there and you should be good to go.

I got to the android stock recovery but I forgot what to do when I get there lol.
I even unlocked the bootloader again just to be able to flash CW recovery again to be able to wipe.
I will see what happens now.
Thanks a lot for your help.

Hi everyone,
I appreciate the help and I'll try to make this brief.
I had AOKP ICS on my SGS2, but then my power button broke. My phone is still under warranty so I wanted to take it to the ATT store to see if they will replace it, but before that I wanted to return everything to stock.
I followed this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1313659. I used I777UCKH7-CL503881-No-BL.exe.
After flashing the stock firmware using that guide, my phone boots up to the ATT logo and then keeps rebooting.
I read somewhere that I should wipe data/factory reset to fix this, but I can't because in 3e recovery, you have to hit the power button to select something and my power button is broken.
Is there any way to fix this boot loop without having to click the power button at all? And making sure not to increase the flash counter which I've taken care to keep at 0?
Really, I just want to get my phone back to stock so I can get it fixed.
Thanks very much for the help!
I don't know any way around the broken power button with 3e recovery, but it has stock on it now, even though you can't boot to it, so I'd just take it in as-is.

I only followed methods that never increased the flash counter, so I've never needed to wipe it. I tried some funky things to do factory reset in 3e, like trying to send/emulate a "power" button click using adb while the phone was in 3e, but that didn't work.
I think I'll take your guys advice and just take it in as it is (unless you can think of something I can do to get it to boot into stock!) and if they ask why it is not booting I will tell them I tried to do a firmware restore in Kies and now it is not booting or maybe just play dumb and say it was working fine before
Hope this works... I still have a year before I'm eligible to upgrade and I don't want to go back to my old iPhone! Hehe
Went down to the ATT warranty center, they replaced it no questions asked.
Guess I was worried about nothing
Thanks
Power button shot craps for no apparent reason so I called up good old AT&T as the device was still under warranty and they sent me a new one. I was rooted so naturally since I had to send it back I figured I would need to unroot. Did just that using ODIN and the ICS 4.0.3 firmware released via Samsung Kies over the summer. However I am now stuck in a boot loop. And I have read that the solution to this problem is to enter System Recovery 3e and wipe data/factory reset. However without the power button functioning how can I select wipe data/factory reset? Will it even be an issue if I send the phone back and it's unrooted but stuck in a boot loop?

Pressing the home key does nothing. However pressing the menu key shows an oblique view of an android with that blue not-quite-spherical shape spinning around in it's abdomen. I'm not sure if that accomplishes anything at all as I've had it sitting here like this for about a minute or two and nothing else has happened. I feel it's probably just a useless little animation.

Oh you smart ass haha. I'll figure it out and try it. Thanks.
flash a kernal with odin which has a touchscreen buttons to control.
Recovery mode has USB debugging auto-enabled. Use ADB to wipe data. Oh, and if you flash rooted ICS via Odin, you can get SU access in ADB, and you can remount the entire thing as rw so you can wipe more stuff. I had almost exactly the same problem as you :cyclops:
I've been running 10.2-20130824-NIGHTLY with ClockworkMod and then encrypted the device. Trying to get back to stock so I used Odin and flashed the device with a stock version of 4.1.2. Everything seemed to go well, the device showed as Passed in Odin.
When the device boots up its asking for the encryption password and the one I used before (even though I'd expect this to be cleared) isn't working. I can't get into ClockworkMod or any recovery menu by holding Power & Volume Down
Any thoughts on what next steps should be to get it working again?

Not sure how I attempt a factory rest if I can't get past the decrypt device prompt or load the recovery module. How else can do a factory reset?
The only access I seem to have is via Odin and KIES_HOME_I9300XXEMG4_I9300OXAEMG4_1314436_REV00_user_low_ship.tar.md5 was the following file used to try and factory rest the encrypted device.
I can't get adb or fastboot to work because the device isn't set for usb debugging nor can I access the recovery console.
