Let's all sign this, guys! I just find the whole process of flashing a P760 kdz on a P769 ridiculous and unnecessary.
This is laziness on LG's part and I think it's disrespectful to us as consumers. They can try to pass the blame to the carriers but ultimately, they manufacture the device and we purchased it.
They should have asked the people that ensure a steady profit for approval and not another greedy corporation. Let's sign.

You are probably addressing the wrong people. LG doesn't really care. It's T-Mobile who requested to lock be bootloader, LG cannot go against it. They may unlock p760/65 although I don't really know how they are sold in Europe and what are the pricing models. P769 is very unlikely, T-Mobile will not do it because they sell this phone very cheap (been seen for $150 on Amazon) and without their plans. It's their way to screw it up as much as they can and lower its perceptive value so people would go for more expensive phones and plans.
I chatted with a T-Mobile rep not too long ago and he told me that the manufacturer is responsible for releasing the unlock token.
The cheap phone thing doesn't make sense, though. You can easily unlock the very cheap Huawei Summit and load CyanogenMod 7.2 on it. I did it for my mom's Summit.

If you genuinely can't be bothered to flash the KDZ and make it work, you probably don't need an unlocked boot loader. The fact that they unlocked the P760 allowed all of us to get unlocked bootloaders and I think that's plenty enough.

The business part is not a script, but a binary. You will need a hex editor. I tried but there are a lot of numbers in there that apparently specify the exact version the exploit will work on and it was too complicated.

Ya I tried that days ago the method just keeps giving you permission denied,I've tried every method available even the clockwork and root methods for the 19152 and motochopper, plus almost everything found on internet.I think its just the device isn't as popular than most galaxy lines.I understand the locked bootloader situation, but I know the note 3 will probably be in the same boat.I think the note 3 will be rooted before the1527,its just going to be more popular with more dev support and devs working on the note 3
Do you guys think they will stay with the 5.5 inch screen with the note 3?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I527 using xda app-developers app
The note 3 supposed to be coming with a 5.68.to 5.7 inch screen which in my eyes is a big dissapointment.I was hoping for at least 6 inch screen size or 6.3 like the mega.It would be nice if they came out with the same situation as the mega one phone at 5.8 another at 6.3 inch screen.I heard they finally ditched the 16 gb internal memory to stock 32gb internal. Ill probally still going to buy it anyways, still undecided what to do with this mega, keep it or return it,love the phone hate having no root,I got 5 days left before my 14 days are up
Im in the same boat I'll hold on to the mega till they announce the note 3 then I'll make my call. I have a little more than a week left on my return.

Nice to see somebody stepping up to put their money towards this. Since there's no development here, I think this will probably be moved to the general section.
Anyways, if somebody could figure out a way to automatically flash the European ICS firmware followed by the JB firmware, unlocking the boot loader would be as easy as enabling USB debugging then waiting 30 minutes, then inputting the OEM unlock code.
Even better, if a talented developer could reverse engineer the lg KDZ flashing tool like other developers did with ODIN, unlocking the boot loader and unbricking a soft brick would be so much easier.

The problem with offering money for this is, in a month or two when there's an easier method, you would've already successfully unlocked its boot loader because you did sufficient research and you didn't give up after you failed a few times. Granted some of the tutorials could be rewritten or simplified, I know the one I used was written in horrible English by an Indian fella and it took me a while.

I look at the P769 as a T-Mobile phone instead of an LG phone sometimes. They do not want the L9 to run CyanogenMod. Plain and simple. They want us to get a Nexus for that.

I think it was xonar_ from my old OB forum who found out, that even if you flash you phone with a kdz file, some partitions remain untouched/simply dont get flashed. Maybe if you manually would e.g. flash every single one, you might have a chance. But that being said, we need a guineapig

Moto X and Moto G are both going to be supported for years because Motorola is owned by Google now. Therefore, Motorola phones are practically Nexus phones. Even though they don't get updates first, they get them soon after!

Don't mean to rain on anyone's parade but, having come from numerous boot loader unlock petitions for moto devices, I don't see this being very effective.
Corporations are less concerned with ongoing support than they are with new revenue. If there's profit in it, they'll do it. If there isn't, they won't. Period.
Why would they want you to keep a current device when they spend millions on whetting your appetite for the latest & greatest?
