Since a recent Facebook update whenever I take a photo the FB app pulls it over and sticks it in the "post to timeline" field.
I do not want this happening.
Is there some way I can prevent it? I've tried using XPrivacy Xposed module to disable FB access to camera and media, but that didn't do a thing.
Is it not just this?

No, my photos are set to "Don't sync", like yours are.
Try clearing data on your camera app and your Facebook app

Just tried that - no change.
Not to sound dumb, but you're definitely not accidentally using the facebook camera app instead of your actual camera app?

Ha ha, no, I'm definitely using my phone's camera app and not the FB camera app.
Just change the don't sync to sync over cellular Wi-Fi for a moment and change back to don't sync , that usually does the trick.

No change in behaviour after doing this.
I'm on Facebook v3.7 (353711) btw.
EDIT: I've just updated my FB app to v 3.7 (367848) and nothing has changed.
Sounds like a question for the facebook developers tbh

Yeah, I've submitted a report but I don't expect them to do anything about it. What I was really wanting here was a way to stop the behaviour without Facebook's help.
Problem solved, for now. I realised that I joined the FB Beta Program ages ago, and hence v3.7 which I've been using is not released to general public yet. I've left the program, installed v3.6.1 and problem is gone.
If FB do make this change in behaviour that I've described into a "feature" of the standard app then I won't hesitate to uninstall it for good, and just use one of the alternatives like Friendcaster, Glyph or Tinfol.

I have the same problem - exactly same.. every time I click new pics and then goto FB it asks me if I want to post those pics to FB.. I dont do that but why the heck is FB accessing my pics DB on camera until I choose to. It even shows me the thumbnails of new pics so it;s not just it knows something changed but it knows exactly what changed has changed
And mt FB is set to do not sync..
I don't have FB installed any more. I'm always trying out different FB clients with varying degrees of success. I normally rely on Friendcaster Pro, but also have Atrium, Flipster and Fast also installed at the moment! None of them are perfect, but I'm sick of FB invading my privacy and also the rubbish performance of the FB app, it's an embarrassment that the biggest social media company in the world calls THAT an acceptable experience.

I want use it to monitor certain forum for new post /thread, hope it has a function that can notify me when a new thread is created.
Thanks for helping.

You dont need an app for that, just go to the sub forum you wanna monitor and choose subscribe under "forum tools". The option may be different for each forum but look around, there should be a way. Once you've subscribed, they'll send you email notifications on new posts/new threads for that particular sub forum.
maybe tapatalk can help you.. with widgets otherwise subscribe or go for rss
Is there a software or program that can be invisible on installed apps list, can save text messages to sd card and can track location remotly activated by text or something like that.

"Eset Mobile" can send you location updates via text messages.
I don't know about reading SMS remotely though. It's worth a look anyway.

Androidlost can do this all.

Yeah, caesura allows spying...it's not encouraged for anything but parents who want to monitor Childs activities, but it allows monitor incoming texts. www.gundersoft.com/pages/downloads/caesura

Has anybody come across a android app which can post status updates to all the three G+, FB & Twitter?
Or sync all the three without any chrome like plugins?
Or a web application which can sync all three?
Thanks,
Kannan Balasubramanian

Tweet Deck is a better app
Correct me if I'm wrong, but G+ syncing/cross-posting will probably be the hardest to find as I don't think that Google has released any APIs for it.

Agreed, G+ API is still read only, hence no direct way.

Hi, sorry for reviving and old thread, but since Hootsuite now let us post to G+, is there any API or app taking advantage of it?
Thank you

Yes it's in the official facebook for android app that you can find by searching for it in the play store. Or you can use this app for facebook chat: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.facebook.katana.

You could try Facebook Messenger or Chat (by FriendCaster).
Edit: Beaten .
Yes I know that there is separate apps to use for chat, but it is not like it is on WP.
I want the chat to be integrated in text messages so it all goes in the same inbox and I dont have to use separate apps. This way is much easier and I dont have to go into separate apps to see how to contact people.

If you read my post above....it says I've not yet rooted my android! Please somebody develop an app which is compatible with the non rooted phones too. Thank You in advance!
Mod Edit: Virtual shouting removed!
There is no need to "shout"... the only app that do what you are asking for, and that is chat heads. the only alternative is to wait for disa developer (serach it on google+, is a closed community) to add that feature in his app.
