Okay I Love my dna but I'm am so mad there isn't an SD card slot and all my storage is being used up by some unforeseen ghost. I have 10 gigs of storage being used by, "other" and u have no idea where it is going to. My best friend has the dna as who with the same issue. I have 2 gigs of music, 1.5gigs in my downloads and 1 nandroid (1 gig). That is all I have put in my phone besides the apps and app data. If anyone else has this problem or any idea where my storage is going I would greatly appreciate some help

What's the total of the bloat on the phone? I don't think it counts the bloatware as app data.

Dude, check the data/media vs the 0 folder. You probably have quite a few duplicates in there.

Yeah if you've switched to 4.2 or 4.3 from 4.1.2 that's your problem best bet would be to format your internal SD card.

I dont want to lose all my music I've downloaded and I don't have a computer. Is there any way to backup my music besides Dropbox or play music?

No.
That's what I thought. So full wipe and then could I push my back up to my phone and restore it?

You should be fine doing that, also there is another way... Get a USB drive and an otg cable and back it up to the drive. Otherwise I would suggest using dropbox over play music, last time I checked when you redownload something from play music it doesn't necessarily download it at the quality it was before.

I downloaded GT Racing Motor Academy and want to download it, but face the problem of not having enough space. I have a 32gb external SD card and moved the app itself to the SD card but want all the 650mb of game data to download to it. Is there a way to do this? Thanks!

Normally when you download a game with data of that size when you download the game it will ask on first run if you want to download it to internal or external storage... Did it not present you with this option?

Nope, it didn't.

Sdcard\gameloft\games\gloftGTFM
Or something like that lol

I believe there is a "directory bind" app posted on XDA. It should work for your case. Needs root.

Hey guys I have about a gig of free space on my internal storage and close to 10 gigs on my SD and my phone keeps telling me to free up space when I try open the gallery. Any ideas?

If you're rooted and dirty-flashed a rom, you can get the same error. I had the same issue awhile back with a particular rom I flashed/upgraded. Hope that helps.

could be not enough room in the system partition due to the way some apps work?
just guessing but the space it needs might not be in the partitions you are looking at?
how can I view the internal storage on my phone? it says I have 9 gigs full but I don't know how to view it in astro

I don't know why, but there's something on my phone that took up 4 gb of the internal memory and I can't figure out what it is. But besides that, I downloaded Modern Combat on my phone (2 gb game) and was curious if there's a way to move it to the external SD card? Along with anything else to free up space on the internal memory? I know Apps2SD doesn't support this phone so I was wondering if there was some other way?

Folder Mount.
Your used space that you're wondering about is likely consumed by backups.

But I made sure that the backups made by TiBu were saved to my external memory.

And I can't figure out where to find the game in folder mount to move it lol. I know I sound like a noob.

Have you made any nandroid backups?

Go to settings-storage-then click on the items in the list to tell you where the data is being used.
App data is under data/data or data/media/0/Android/data or data/media/0/Android/obb. I strongly suggest you don't just cut and paste. It won't work at all.

Thanks for the app info. I will be adding that to my Rooted ME7 GS4. I want my games but don't want to waste space.
Maybe this is a noob question but I'm running low on space in my internal storage and can't figure out why. I ran sd card analyst inside of es file manager and can't figure or why it's low on space.

I'm using a 32 Gb Class 10 card from my S3, removed everything S3 related and installed into my S4. Now today I take a pic, browse my gallery, then haven't touched my phone except to text (about an hour goes by) . I go back into my gallery and it's empty. Music? Gone. Same for videos. Check my SDCard via root explorer. Managed to locate thumbnails, that's it, no other media. Yet all my files and programs that I saved to it to keep handy are still there. ANY ideas? Or ANY way to recover the lost media? I'm not sure I even have everything as my laptop crashed at one point after I backed up my card last.

What ROM are you on? You might not be formated correctly and the phone won't be able to read it

You might have deleted all the data but you can get most of it back. As long as you dont put more stuff back on the sd card. Have you tried using your pc to see if the contents are gone?
Hit thanks if I helped you out. Doing a little bit of reading goes a long way. Sent via tapatalk.
Not sure how I would have erased just my media and no other files but I'm at work so I'll have to check on my laptop when I get home. Most everything is backed up to one cloud storage or another but I'm on limited data right now and it's 20+ Gb

Im having the same issue with my 32gb on my mj7 s4. Suppisedly last year sanddisk put out a bad batch of micro sd cards. Go to their website and file an inquiry to get a new one. Thats what I'm in the process of doing. If a replacement renders the same issue try to exchange your device. Thats my next course of action.

Sure you didn't reformat it at some point? I know in Slim there is an option to format the sd card under Settings -> Storage. Perhaps you inadvertently did that?
Again, ONLY my media disappeared. Pictures, video, and music. ALL other files and folders were intact.
