My wife and my rooted P769 phones running v20F are reporting the v20H OTA update is available. I've pulled all of the junk off so I know that taking the OTA update won't work.
Is it possible to develop a CWM flashable .ZIP for v20F to v20H like Lelus did here for the v20D to v20F?

I have the .KDZ for v20H but if I flash that, I have to factory reset, right? I don't want to have to reinstall everything if I don't have to.

No, but it removes root, reinstalls bloatware, and removes all init.d/built.prop modifications, basically everything root lol. Apps and data will reamin unchanged.
Will it remove root with OTA rootkeeper?? I plan on doing the upgrade OTA and not flash.

If you flash kdz you will not lose your data. But link2sd will be overwritten. And your system mods will be overwritten as well.

there are no different from 20h and 20f
lg only patched masterkey bug
Seeing as no one seems to want 20H, myself included, is there sure-fire way to avoid the update?
I was getting that annoying system update available message like every 10 minutes up until I stopped using the phone about a week ago when I got my Galaxy Note 3.
I have frozen a fair number of the bloatware apps through titanium , and I deleted the system update file. Do I need to uninstall the bloatware permanently or something? I would hate to hit the update now button and get a dead Android or something, or have the update actually go through...
Can anyone confirm what they did to safely avoid having the update happen after they started seeing the pop up message? I'd rather not sell the phone with the update messages still happening, or lose all that work that I did to make the phone better through rooting, link2SD, etc.
FWIW my service is T Mobile and I'm running a stock 20F ROM.

Answering my own question:
There are two methods in this middle of this thread to stop the system update notification nagging:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=38535547
I tried the one from chicguy a while back and it never worked, but I forgot to try both. I just tried it, and so far the one samomamo posted works great.
I figure I might as well post what worked for me in case anyone else is getting the 20h system update pop up screen that you have to click on about every 10 minutes or so...man that was beyond annoying...

the problem is being worked on as we speak, mostly due to not having kdz files for that version of the L9. I use the same version too, most of the time, which is why i'm not doing much beyond rooting it and freezing the bloatware.

Use this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2085344
Use the KDZ for the Canadian P769:
http://lg-phone-firmware.com/index.php?id_mod=18
If it works, you will loose wifi calling and any of the T-Mobile bloatware. I may be able to send you my kernel, wifi calling APKs, and T-Mobile bloatware.
Good luck.
Canadian p769 is your only option I've put in a request with the head of 4ext for a full recovery full setup for us then we can make a full backup and post it for others to use to get back to standerd T-Mobile firmware so til then do what is suggested

Canadian V11a works great on T-mobile P769BK phone, I am on at&t SIM, work great on at&t than it on t-mobile.

So can be rooted or not be rooted? I am confused on that one. I figured the same method would work as the 10E. I am hoping this will let me get back use of my recovery on my P769BK for T-mobile US. After a failed OTA reboot to recovery either reboots phone or goes to dead android.

I am using the Canadian 11A on my US T-Mobile P789BK. It can not be rooted using any of the current methods.
The firmware itself is nice in that it is fast and pretty much bloat free. The little bit that is there can easily be disabled.
Everything works great including wifi hotspot and usb tether. I have been running it for a week now and so far I haven't run into any problems.
I hope someone can come up with a method to root it as I would love to have that option once again.
BTW:
I have used the KDZ offline method to install USA 10G and Canadian 11A and there is no problem going back and forth between the two at any time. Even all apps, wallpaper, data...etc. remain untouched. You would not even know that you switched except for the additional T-Mobile apps and the boot screens.

Flashed V10G P765 India.
Not very good but Touch Responsiveness is better than all previous roms. Rom seems bit faster too. I use Free Nova Launcher and its obviously better than stock.
Too many Bloatware included by them. bigflix, SystemBackupTest, Cell Broadcast, QuickTranslater, Google Play, etc.
NOT ROOTABLE AFTER DIRECTLY FLASHING. Voodo Rootkeeper could not retain ROOT. Seems something more stronger.
Will stay UNROOTED for couple of days for reviewing other aspects, battery, performance, etc.

I'm on P765 10g(My device is a P765) rooted. :highfive: Its a great surprise especially after what everyone was saying in this thread.
Here's what I did:
I was on P760 10h rooted backup by cmahendra.
I flashed the indian V10C, did a factory reset.
Rooted by using Root with restore.
Installed VOODOO Root Keeper and updated SuperSU.
Used wifi and updated to V10d.
From V10d I updated to V10g using wifi again.
Voila, I'm still rooted. And this is definitely a great improvement from the previous firmwares as stated by cmahendra.
Restoring all my data from backup right now. I hope my steps help the fellow xda people.

I am currently rocking the Security Error. I got ahead of myself and started freezing apps to backup and dump from the phone after rooting using Lelus method. Well after a reboot security error.
I have tried http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2085344 and http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2368752 and http://androidforums.com/optimus-l9-all-things-root/792689-guide-unbrick-manual-update.html and ...... the list goes on.....
For most of the methods I get to 4% and it stalls. I have tried to do the 3 finger hard reset and it still goes straight to Security Error.
Any ideas?

I am debating using autorec to put back the stock recovery and running the OTA update but worried I will lose root and unsure if the tools currently available will root the phone again.
I could make a backup with TWRP, but if I can't re root I wont be able to get back to it to recover my backup.

Anyone else update their stock rooted lolipop rom?
I am debating using autorec to put back the stock recovery and running the OTA update but worried I will lose root and unsure if the tools currently available will root the phone again.
I could make a backup with TWRP, but if I can't re root I wont be able to get back to it to recover my backup.
Thoughts?

I've never used Autrec, and maybe I'm missing something, but I can't for the life of me figure out how it works. I've tried tapping on the lollipop that says "Restore stock" but it doesn't seem like it's doing anything. When I click on the other one to "Flash TWRP," it seems to work just fine. Is there some secret to it?

How did you install this?
Did you roll back to the stock recovery and just let it run? Did you lose root?

Are you rooted? Are you using Autorec V2? The one specifically for Lollipop?

Yes, I'm using this one from the Play Store. And yes, I'm rooted. I already have TWRP installed and I'm just trying to restore the stock recovery to flash this update. Then I'll reinstall TWRP and root.
Edit: I think I finally figured it out. I guess it just requires some patience. I think I've been tapping on it, and when it doesn't seem to do anything, I tap again. And again. But it looks like it just takes a minute to respond and tapping again interrupts it.
It says that it restored the stock recovery now, so I'll try flashing this update. Wish me luck!
Edit 2: It still isn't working for me. Autorec says that it has restored stock partitions, but I still get TWRP when I go into recovery.
I am uprooted..
You should do a factory reset. Clear cache and dalvik. And then return to stock..
I recommend don't OTA on a rooted phone.
