I9300 dark text on dark BG on many CM10.2 roms - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Well, it's been a while since I'm experiencing this problem. It all began when I installed Probam 4.4.5 which is a CM10.2 rom (that wasn't the case on 4.4.3 which is also a CM10.2 but I think it's a 10.2 early developement stage released one), and thinking it was because I didn't do a full wipe, I began from scratch (after backing up everithing of course ), done a full wipe, clean-installed the rom with no customization or any... and the problem persisted... so I got back to CM10.1 roms and the problem disappeared.
Then I wanted to try a different rom, thinking it was specific to Probam. So I installed PAC-man rom 15/09 nightly which is CM10.2 based, and to my surprise (or should I be surprised?? ) the problem reappeared!!
My first guess is that it's a CM10.2 issue, although after comparing Probam/PAC-man, I found out it's almost the same rom (PA-AOKP-CM base with some added features) so it could be more to the customization than to CM10.2
I don't know if I'm the only one to have this problem, cause I looked for a thread that treats any similar issue on many forums and found nothing, so I decided to post it on XDA... aaand it all got stranger when I tryed to take a snapshot of my screen (to post it in here) by pressing both power and home button (old iPhone habits don't go away easily ) the phone obviously got locked, when I unlocked it, the problem disappeared for a moment, and reappeared after closing the app affected by the issue and opening it again.
So... that's it! Any solutions?? Any further details I can give??

[Q] Resolution issues

I flashed this ROM yesterday and so far everything has been working great except for one little detail. A few applications are being stretched off the screen. The two I've noticed this on so far are the ROM OTA Updater and the market app Fishing Superstars.
I tried completely wiping everything and reflashing the ROM several times but it's never made any difference. I'm starting to get frustrated and considering trying another ROM (but I like everything else about this one). Does anyone have any ideas about how to fix this?
Here's a screenshot of what I'm talking about. I can't get the OTA Updater to come back up but it cuts off the "Accept" button so I can't ever do any OTA updates =/

What Rom are you using? The dpi maynot be set correctly for that app. It's more than likely a Rom issue.

I'm using SOS M | VER 2.6.1 found here. For reference, here is what the OTA updater (included in that ROM) looks like when I try to apply the ROM update.
179, chaimio
Anyone have any idea? I'd post this in the actual ROM thread but I don't have 10 posts yet =/

[Q] NFC Toggle on Notification Panel

I found that the NFC Toggle on Notification Panel is not working.
I found this few month ago since the test build of 4.1.2 from Poland (i found the build number) on my i9300.
I thought this was the bug of the test build however, From the latest build, MB1, this problem is still existed, so no solution for this?

I viewed few post in here and cannot find out a solution.
Thank you.
Same problem with the Note 2 since the 4.1.2 firmware was released.
exact same device here with the same ROM with the same problem and been looking for an answer !!!
i have the same issue it happens after ive rebooted the phone, to fix it i have to take the toggle off the bar, reboot the phone then re add the toggle and then that fixes it untill i have to reboot the phone again. is rather annoying but i can live with it
Just to let you know guys, this happened to me today and I've tried everything, unrooted and such and things didn't go well. I even reflashed the XEMB1 / XEMB5 on my phone without doing a factory reset/cache wipe but the bug was still there.
this is what I did to fix the issue :
go to recovery mode (stock / CWM)
do a full wipe cache
do a factory reset
reboot
hopefully this will help some people out, it's annoying though that I had to download everything again.
EDIT : It's back again, and I didn't even root my phone .__. WTF IS THIS ?
I have this problem with latest 4.2.2 leak now.
I've got the same on an xperia z1 so you aren't the only ones, must be a kitkat error

[Q] Screen discoloring and flickering after installing custom ROM

I've had this Galaxy Tap 10.1 for over a year now and this weekend I decided to install a custom ROM, first I tried CM10.1/SGT7, then tried CM10.1 nightlies, then went back to CM10.1/SGT7.
During this third install I noticed some screen discoloring and flickering. I thought it had something to do with the ROM (both are based on CM10.1 nightlies), so decided to try an rooted/deodexed ICS Stock ROM, but the same problem persisted.
So decided to go back to Stock Honeycomb by doing a factory reset via ODIN, hoping that everything could be fixed by going full original stock.
But it didn't, the screen discoloring and flickering continues even after the full factory reset.
Have anyone seen anything like this? Is there a way to fix this?

Thanks!
your cable (what connects board to digitizer/display) most likely went bad (ocurred to someone else I know a few months back). surprised you still have a display.
send it back to samsung for replacement (or you can attempt to replace it yourself).

Being out of warranty (is over a year), this is something they can repair? I'm assuming I would have to pay for the parts and service.
Anyone else had this problem and how it was fixed?

S3 Custom ROM and Netflix Issue

Hello Everyone,
I am getting an odd issue with the Netflix App running in either CM 12 or 13 (Various ROMs CM/Temasek/CynoPop/MoKee etc). The app would run as normal and even start the video, but then after a few minutes the video gets scrambled. The picture would go from good to scramble on and off. I've also tried older versions of Netflix App resulting with the same issue.
This only seems to happen in the S3, as my Samsung Mega 6.3 (CM 13) runs smoothly and my other Samsung A7 (Stock) does too. Other videos run without any issues (Youtube/MX Player Pro).
The issue resembles a PAL/NTSC clash you would normally have with VHS back in the day.
Any ideas? Should I go back to Stock? I love the google experience and I want the S3 to be used with my future Chrome-cast 2 so I can have the experience complete.
Thanks in advance.

Dude, do you even read the list of problems in CM13 thread? Any CM13-based ROM always has this problem because there is a problem with h/w decoding (I think).
u should've read the all cm13 thread it's a known prob....

As I mentioned, the problem also happens in CM12.
Any solutions?
What? I don't see any problem with any DRM'd content (i.e Netflix) in android 5.1? Try switching to ArchiDroid, it may be EOL already but it is still a golden gem. Very stable too of course
The solution is to change the Playback settings to Medium through the website.

Making notifications on LineageOS look and feel like stock N7105 4.4.3

I'm very new to Android and my elderly mum has a N7105 unit. It used to run a very ancient 4.4.3 (I think), but after numerous days and sleepless nights (technology is not my forte) following XDA threads - many thanks to this site - and watching countless number of Youtube videos, I finally managed to successfully flash Lineage OS 14.1 onto it and root it and it runs without a problem.
My question is, can I change the notification pull down thingy (sorry, don't know what it's called) to have the exact same style as the stock Samsung one? She needs to change between WiFi and 4G, but is visually impaired, so the stock one, with the words "WiFi" and "Mobile Data" was very clear and self explanatory. She dislikes the new one as the icons are too "2D" and flat. Also needing to press another minute button on the top right hand corner just to enable 4G is too troublesome for her.
So is there an app or something that can restore the pull down notifications menu to be very close or exactly like the stock one used on N7105? I realize that may be too much to ask, so anything in the vicinity of the latter would be fine (ie. S4, S5, J series) as long as it's early to mid 2010s.
I've tried Material Noticebar and substratum but none restored it to the way it was. All she needs is for the notificaiton pull down to look and function like this:

"lightbox_next": "Next",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Many thanks in advance.
Edit: I'm prepared to pay for any apps/themes if it comes that that. Just need the notification pull down to look and perform like the above.
