What's the reason Xperia Neo V is asking for a "SIM network unlock PIN" after flashing stable CM9.1? I didn't change my SIM card.
How to fix it?
EDIT:
I have found a way to workaround the issue. I placed the SIM card in other phone and turned off SIM PIN checking.
Anyway it seems it's a bug in, so called "stable" CM9.1 for Neo V.

I have bought a new Xperia Ray ST18a from Telus (Canada). I have successfully unlocked it using a code, called my voice mail without a problem. Then I downloaded Sony's PC companion to verify if the phone's software was up to date. When the update was finish, I tried to make another call and noticed the "Emergency Calls only. No Sim Card" message.
I used the Sim card in my old phone and it worked. I used another Sim card in my Ray, the 'No Sim card Message' was still there.
I sent the phone to Sony for repair and came back with again the same problem.
Anybody have a clue what is wrong with the phone?
The SIM lock Menu it shows:
[x Network 10
]
[] Network subset 0
[] Service provider 0
[] Corporate 0
[] SIM 0
Phone software version: 1248-9545_4.0.1.A.0.283 Generic -user

ETS software Version: 1247-1301_7
Rooting Status: Bootloader Unlock Allowed: No
It's locked again
They have network locked your phone again. As for the SIM problem, maybe the phone/SIM contacts aren't clean enough. I don't think it's related to the network lock/unlock.

Thanks for the reply.
I have checked the contacts and even applied pressure on them when the phone was restarting. Same results.
How can you tell it's network locked again?
With which code did you unlock?
Does any other SIM card work?
According to the Network value, seems like the SIM-lock is still there...Is the phone branded?

Yes it's a branded phone.
I tried another SIM card from another cell phone and I'm still having the same message.
I bought an unlock code from a unlocking service from the internet.
Learned something yesterday!
Not all cell phones can prevent the insertion of the SIM card the wrong way!
On the Ray you can insert the card the wrong way and you will be able to install the battery and cover perfectly. I have re-inserted the SIM card in the right position and the "No SIM card" message disappeared and was able to unlock it with the same previous code. All is now fine.
I don't mind looking like a foul and hope this thread will help somebody else.
Thank you for trying to help.

You inserted the SIM card in the wrong position? How is that even possible?

Believe it or not
I have been porting MIUIv4 for Xperia J and after I installed 99% working build my phone stopped recognizig SIM cards.
I have restored CM10 backup, flashed stock ics 7.5, OTA updated to JB, flashed again with SEUS but nothing helped. I treid flashing it without pressed sim and with sim inside. No result.
My phone doesn't recognize any SIM card, it says on lockscreen "Invalid sim card". Please help me
it seems like SIM lock but I have never had it ;/
Hi there,
a friend of mine just got a used xperia p. He inserted his sim card and it worked.
After that he started the current software update. And here is the point. Right after the update no sim card is recognized any more - always says "please insert sim...".
Service menu says everything except sim is locked with 5 possible tries.
I just made a downgrade using flashtool which seemed to free the phone again according to service menu - but no sim card is detected.
An update using flashtool leads to the same problem (locked).
What can I do?
Thanks in advance.

Same problem with xperia U after wrongly installed update for unlocked bootloader while my phone doesn't have it unlocked.(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2410391)

with sim taken out: Emergency calls available, imei and baseband detected.
tried reflashing, downgrading, nothing helped.

Tried with 3 different cards of different providers. No Solution yet - any idea?
hi
i have sony xperia j and i learnt every thing about rooting and unlocking and flashing roms from this site
but now i have a problem and i'd be pleased if i got any help
SO
My Xperia wont accept any network SIM card whatever Roms or Firmwares i flashed
i tried to flash base band only and to restart radio and also other networks SIMcards
also my SIM card works in other devices
and it just display the message
"Your SIM card does not allow a connection to this network"
SO Please i am now two days without phone and i'm traveling in a few days and i really need it
thank you in advance
I have a Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini St15i, officially unlocked bootloader with custom Xperia Ultimate HD 5.0.1 for all MDPI ROM, Android 4.0.4, baseband 86. This is the only ROM where I did not have problems with registering the SIM to network. After two weeks of use I got suddently a "No signal" message, registering to any of the available 3 networks is unsuccessfull both in automatic and manual mode. At network search I always get the message "Can not register to network. SIM card not present or network not available". I tried all the available basebands and different custom and official ROMs, but nothing worked except of the Ultimate HD 5.0.1.
When I take out the SIM and put it to any of my old phones, the SIM registeres without any problem and the network is fully functional. Afterwards I move the SIM to my Xperia Mini, the SIM registers as well and network functions for a certain time only (usually a week or two).
Anybody experienced this behaviour ? Is there any workaround ? Any help please.
