Hi there, I was on MIUI, decided to flash a new rom.
Phone fails to boot, stuck on MIUI boot.
Don't think the phone has any recovery, cannot enter recovery mode.
When plugged into computer, it disconnects/connects every 20-30 seconds, cannot see memory card in mycomputer
No idea what to do??

factory reset from recovery. by the way is the rom based on 4.1.1 or later?

Can't get into recovery! (is that when you hold power and volume on boot) if so, cannot get into rocovery.

volume up+ home+ power is the combo to get into rec mode. can't get into it with this combo?

Ah right, yes tried that and I'm into recovery... It says downloading, but not sure where from or if it is doing anything?
Edit, just seen maybe I have to connect it to the computer with a program to download onto the phone, is this kies?

then that is downloading mode not rec mode! okay hold on to volume down+ home+ power and flash stock firmware via odin.

Yeah, realised after I said it cannot get into recovery at all, so going to do what you just said.

Any idea what drivers I have to install for the S3, I don't think its recognised by my PC, sorry to be a pain

the drivers should automatically install as soon as you connect the phone. did you try all the usb ports on the pc/laptop? sometimes might be faulty usb ports also!

Got it working again in the end flashed stock unrooted firmware and re-rooted

ok so i tried to root my phone and flash a rom to it, but i messed up and now my phone will not turn on at all, but when i plug it in the computer the computer will make a noise saying my device is pluged in, but my phone will not turn on at all, can somepne please help

If the phone does not boot up and is looping, then simply remove the battery> Reinsert> enter recovery (vol. up+home+power) and do a factory reset and cache wipe and reboot!

i cant press vol.up, home and power because the home key is a touchkey and i just tried and will not work

are you sure the jig will work because i read online that that only fixed soft bricked phones, and mine is described as a hardbricked phone
if your phone could not turn on, jig probably won't work for you. It is best used for boot-loop or similar situations.

actually i think it comes on but the screen dosnt, because when i plug it into the computer,the computer makes a noise and i message will come up saying my device is pluged in

If home is a soft key then you have the AT&T SGS2. Go to that forum and ask for the key combination for download mode. Once you are in download mode flash a rom.

Hey.
Today I installed ROM Manager, and I wanted to backup my current ROM and boom, it turned off itself.
It didn't boot up later and was only a blank screen.
I tried to take out the battery, while holding Volume down, home button, and power on button put the battery on again, and force it to get into dowload mode, but it didn't worked either. My computer doesn't recognise it.
But, when i plug my phone without the battery to the computer, then Hold the Volume up and down buttons, home button and power on button, and put back again the battery my computer recognises it and start installing drivers, but still the phone doesn't boot and can't get into download mode.
ALso Odin detects it when I do this.
Is there something I can do to unbrick?
My phone: Samsung Galaxy Mini Gingerbread (2.3.6)

Nope, neither "Downloading Mode"
But the thing is that Windows and Odin recognise it.

Well then there is nothing else you can do. You'll have to carry it in under warranty (if you have one).

he'll need a custom kernel for that, jig is much safer

Look , i had the bootloop once. I tried to power down my device, but it wouldn't work. Took out the battery and it powered on itself - bootloop. Try holding Volume Up + Home + Power buttons to get into recovery mode and then clear data/cache. I remember holding the buttons for 10 seconds before it actually rebooted to recovery
But if you read the heading of this thread gr4ndm4st3r_bl4ck, it says the home button is broke....

I'm not sure his button is really broke , cuz he didn't mention it anywhere in his post , just in the heading... Which makes no sense, who does any kind of flashing if their hardware button is broke... If it really is , then it's his fault for not taking it to repair first...

don't flash ics once you are using jelly bean! that will lead to SDS(sudden death syndrome). you will murder your phone!

flash the latest stock firmware of YOUR REGION from www.sammobile.com. then factory reset from recovery.

recovery mode is home button+volume up+power! you need not enter recovery mode to flash firmware via odin! you need to enter download mode(home button+volume down+power) and connect to pc and flash via odin! after flashing is done, enter recovery mode and factory reset!

cant enter download mode..just this screen...and my pc dont recognize my phone so as odin...really sorry for all this..
im desperate with my phone!!
No download mode then you can try as a last resort a USB Recovery Jig to access download mode .
Otherwise its a service centre .

i contact with service center i think this is the only solution..however my phone is rooted so i think they will not fix it

When in download mode press Vol up again

I have a major problem with a friends Galaxy S 2 GT-i9100, he flashed a cyanogen custom rom and tried to uprade it but somewhere in the process the phone just died and no the phone in not entering recovery mode and whn we plug it in to the computer it is not even recognized as a usb device, so we can't even try and re-flash it.
Can someone please tell me, how can I fix / recover his phone so it would just turn back on ?

Can your friends phone go into download mode (volume down, home button, power button)? If it can, you will need to flash back to stock rom by using odin.

The phone can go into download mode, but when I connect it to the computer I'm getting a message "The USB is not recognized..." and it doesn't appear in odin...

No, in download mode. Connect your phone to PC when phone is on download mode then see if device manager picks it up.

It only pops a message that the usb device is not recognized...
