I love this little phone. It continues to surprise me at every turn.
I discovered slow motion video today.

Pretty cool. How can we do it?

With the camera app open, push the A in the top right, first option - slow motion video.
The panoramic shots come out nice too

Sure is, except there is limitations on the res. i.e. no HD slow mo. Still cool
Going out to get some landscape shots in the mountains today. Panaorama inc!
I tried this feature inside my house. For some reason when I click record the screen goes a little darker and that's the way the video comes out as well.
Very cool never the less. Maybe ill try it tomorrow outside.

That's the way photography works... Slow motion is more frames per second, which translates to faster shutter speeds which allow less light into the sensor. Hence darker video unless the iso is boosted, then it gets too grainy... Good light will make a big difference...
It makes NO SENSE (no pun) for the phone to not have slow motion HD recording. None. Buddy of mine at work has the Resound, and we record 720p slow motion all the time. Checked the file's resolution, and it is full 720p. Why would a NEWER phone from the same manufacturer with better hardware and newer software... backpedal?
Pop Player (Speed-Control Video Player)
I highly recommend the free Pop Player app. I recently made a couple of reviews on it on YouTube.
This new video player allows the user to utilize speed-control. The slow-motion
and speeded-motion are extremely smooth too and audio syncs perfectly with
the video at any speed. It can definitely be useful for athletes and students.
Some people I know even use it to replay their golf swings in slow-motion
in order to improve their form.
This player plays MP4 files that contain H264 and AC codecs.
Check out my review of this app on youtube by searching "Pop Player Free Android App".

Do you have the .apk, because this player is no longer in the Google play store. Disregard, I found it in the play store, I should've looked thoroughly the first time.

It is now listed as Stick It. Not free anymore.

Why does a video player need all those permissions? Read phone state and identity, retrieve running apps, kill background processes, discover accounts, market billing service. It may all be legit, but I wasn't taking any chances. Deleted the app without even running it as soon as I saw the permissions. Should have noticed it before installing the app.
Hi Guys, I'm very new to android device so bare with me on this. I have just switched my phone from Iphone5 to Note3. I love the phone it's big bright screen very thing is nice. I am also a video freak I like to take a lot of video of my dogs on post it on Facebook. After a while I return to the video I uploaded it and the quality of the videos was CRAP!! I have no clue what I did wrong or what option I didn't choose. I went into the menu to see if I have checked on the UPLOAD HD VIDEO option like on iphone. Holly Shoot!! There is no option to choose.....
Does this issue happen to all android device or just SS note3? How to fix the problem?

Hey guys, as ive seen there are some threads about this but mostly it gets no answer.
Also on Google i didn't find something.
On older Versions of touchwiz there where some Cameras and also on newer ones with slow Motion but do we have slow Motion camera for the s3 that works on aosp roms ? (as title says) Especcialy for cm11 as i'am running temaseks.
Please no app that just Shows me Videos in slow Motion without saving.
Any simple Editor or maybe a good slow Motion cam would be good.
Hope someone answers here.
Thanks in advance

No, we do not have such ability with the asop camera.
Did you read the whole post ?
It would be even good to have a simple slow Motion Video Editor and it doesnt have to be the aosp camera, just a camera that works on cm11 and has slow mo
Hi, trust you guys are doing well! So with the plethora of port of the google camera that supposedly works for our devices it was starting to get a bit confusing. So I would be most grateful if someone could tell me what's the latest port that really works for our device. If not then maybe we should get a single thread where we could archive it. B/C that's the only thing which our device lacks a bit in the camera department. And if the Google Camera with it's image processing really do some magic it would be awesome for our beast!

Download the 31/8 link
everything is working
Image quality is awesome (maybe better than miui camera app)
60 fps video is awesome too
only thing missing is slow mo recording which i dont use
Try this https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=962021903579481168
Thxs will try it and keep you guys updated!

Because Nokia made a great decision, to use pure Android. The smoothest and fastest Android of all. Besides the Google Pixel- Pixel 2, there is no other flagship with pure Android. You even have Google lens and "ok Google" with screen off, working. You have Android 8.1, when Galaxy S8 is right now updating to 8.0! For almost half the money.... Think about it....
I found this app that works very fine

I use "music folder", I love this app, it's simple but powerful at the same time.
Very very low battery drain.
I tried it for a few weeks and then I bought it, also to reward the work done.

Regarding this decision, I'm glad they took it and that's why I love the new Nokia.
However they could implement some little features like the screen-on when there is a notification coming.
Also their glance screen is still a far cry that the one used in Lumias, in every aspect (aesthetic, features, battery consumption).
I'm not sure if Nokia / HMD is really working under the hood or if they just push Google updates and that's it.

Isn't that what pure Android is all about? Pure Google. Fast updates and stock experience. I think I prefer fast updates, to have a secure and fluid device, than little tricks, that you mostly find in apps on play store anyway.
btw... On WhatsApp, sms and a few more apps, there are notifications on lock screen. And screen turns on. Just not for all apps.
If you look at the phone, the only downside, is it's own camera application. It sucks. Since I replaced it with Google camera, the phone became complete!
Yes you're right and that's why I chose Nokia too (that, + the fact that I'm a fanboy of the brand).
I know that Whatsapp wake up the screen with notifications, the whole point of my post was that, YES, Pure Android is fantastic and so far Nokia do a good job with updates. But maybe they could, like Sony for instance, just make 2-3 little additions on firmwares that won't slow down the updates that much, but will be great for users. For Instance, while under 8.0, it was nearly impossible to enjoy music streaming via bluetooth because it was broken (thanks Google). I don't have this problem on 8.0 with the GS8, and that's because Samsung worked on it.
Now with 8.1, no stuttering anymore, but as a lot of devices, Spotify is just shut down after 30min.
I would appreciate that HMD/Nokia put a little more effort on these type of problems.
I also agree that GC makes an HUGE difference.
I use poweramp and it works great. I love my nokia 8.
PlayerPro also work great for me, although I bought the Pro version years ago so dunno about the free version.
Same with Black Player, small and great.
If you have lots of albums N7 player is a uniquely brilliant in how it presents and navigates them.
I bought playerpro back when I had a HTC wildfire. That's how long I e used this music player and how happy I am with it. It's truly stood the test of time. My favourite feature is being able to download album artwork from the internet.
@venezolano69, I am currently using Onkyo HF player and is pretty good. It has various preseted HQ settings available and has a decent sound quality! It is worth to try if you are seeking for a new music player with good performance.
@machhho, if you are seeking for an audio recorder, let's try the one made by Sony. Both of the software can be found in the Google Store
I have been using BlackPlayer and it's really the best one out there in my opinion.
How can I record calls (App)?
I am now on Asus Music downloaded from APK mirror. Runs great and also has an equalizer. Still using since Asus zenfone 2 Laser and still great
Try shuttle music player
