Is there an official Note 3 battery that we can buy yet? I feel like before the Note 2 was released there were already extra official battery kits you could purchase, but I don't seem to see those options available for the Note 3 yet.
Ive been looking and waiting also. haven't seen anything yet.
I will pick up the official Samsung external charger and spare battery kit once it's available. Most likely direct from Samsung. The note 2 spare and charger was only 25.00 during launch week. Hopefully they have a half off promotion for the Note 3 also.

I already bought the OTG and the MHL 2.0 cables from Samsung in preparation. The code rv18623 got me 50% off (I think for any products less than $50) and it should still work if you want to grab some stuff half off before the batteries are available.
In the past when I have registered Samsung devices I always got a 50% off code for accessories in the Samsung store under $50 and the battery w/ charger falls into that. Hopefully they will release the accessories soon.

judging by this, I wouldn't go hyperion that's for sure:
I have a 5000mah hyperion battery for my galaxy note, and I ripped off the label and it says "1500mah" directly on the battery... further peeling of the sticker shows what appears to be 3x1500mah batteries under the shell.. so 4500mah on a 5000mah advertised battery.
I'll post pictures later but it says:

I always buy generic extra batteries for all my phone. Not one has ever failed me. Even the $5 ones from china. I would never pay $15 for an aftermarket battery. Give it 2 weeks after Oct 4th and you will be able to buy 2 aftermarket batteries and a charger for $20.
Mobilefun will have stocks soon of the OEM batteries http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/official-samsung-galaxy-note-3-extra-battery-kit-p40798.htm

I wouldn't risk my life buying such batteries.
Since I put the phone on my shirt pocket, I will die immediately if the phone explodes.
I've had cheap batteries from China before. They never last as long as advertised. When I was getting a full day out of my note, I was getting 5 hours out of the knock off batteries that claimed to be bigger then the oem battery.

I am waiting on Samsung to offer them with the spare charger so I can use the 50% off code. They charge $49.95 for the batter & charger so its a deal at $25 w/ 50% code.
I am as well, that's a great deal, plus peace of mind for me.

the issue is not so much as cheap batteries, but the lack of NFC on the cheap batteries.
Samsung's site has no listings for anything of value beyond GG and S-View covers, no batteries, no cases, no nothing.

The Anker battery seems way to expensive than the past batteries I bought from them for some reason or maybe I'm used to their bundle. 2 batteries and 1 charger for $30 or something like that.
I'm not going for the anker for four reasons:
1. They're made in China, and the Samsung ones are usually Korea (still trying to exhange my Note III for a Korean Model
2. They're uglier than the OEM ones (I carry these in my pocket and swap daily throughout the day, I want them to look decent)
3. They don't include a carrying case (my Note II batteries did, which helps protect the moisture warranty-void stickers from getting wet, which happened to my S3 batteries without the cases (I carry contact cases in the same pocket as batteries at work)
4. They don't have the option to come with that super cool portable battery charger from Samsung or something equivalent. God that looks awesome for on-the-go charging!
SO Samsung, PLEASE RELEASE THE KRAKEN... err.. Batteries. Release the damn batteries already. and soon :fingers-crossed:

Not at all, I'm not a big fan either but some people like it.
After about a year my GNexus usb port broke ( using a Philips Docking Station to charge ) so constant wair/tear on usb port can render it useless. I've seen others with similar problems. The wireless option would preserve the port for more important things other than charging.
I tried wireless charging I preferred the extra batteries route

It's just about convenience. I still haven't jumped on board, hasn't been worth the price IMHO, so far. Even with the $20 cover, you still have to get a wireless charging pad.
One other thing to note. Wireless charging is slower and thus preserves not only USB port, but battery longevity! Efficient.

I wonder how long it would take to charge the Note 3 battery. My S4 battery took quite a while to charge. The Note 3 battery is give or take about 1000mAh bigger than the S4
Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk 2
Another consideration is whether cases will still fit since the charging cover is thicker.

I like wireless charging, since it is pretty convenient... have 3 charging plates at various plates at home/work, using it with S3 right now. Wonder if there is a Qi card option vs. the plate for the Note 3, given that it is pretty thin.

You can mod it to fit but i hear with the wireless backplate, your case won't fit
Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk
I hope it doesn't increase the thickness of the device much, unlike the S4 where it was pretty noticeable. As for charging speculation, I'm wondering if there will be a USB 3.0 specific wireless charger solution or something, if that's even possible. Otherwise I'd imagine it'd take forever for such a high mAh battery to charge up wirelessly to the point where I think it'd be better just to buy the spare battery/battery charger base accessory seeing how good the battery life is.

my nexus 7 takes about 5 hours
If that were the case here then two hours vs. five would be too slow for my tastes. My Note 3 went from 1% to 100% in two hours on the 3.0 charger...

I recently canceled my order of a Korean LG G3 that was going to come with an extra battery, a dock, and the tangle free headphones. I'm going to grab the AT&T version in 2 days. I very much so doubt the AT&T version will come with anything so I'd love to have the extra stuff.
Trouble is, the dock I found on eBay costs about $45 and the battery is about $20. The battery price isn't much but the dock is that much without the actual spare battery - a bit too expensive for my taste. Does anyone know where I can find a better deal on these accessories?
Thanks.

That's a link to the dock. The actual battery is easy to find, search up lg g3 battery and it should be there.
And AT&T is horrible. They literally include nothing with most phones. I've purchased three generations of galaxy notes from AT&T and none of them have come with headphones or anything. Oddly enough, the less expensive galaxy S series do come with headphones.

Thats why the Korean model is better, but I still have all of my accessories from it because I broke it. I have an AT&T model now, and I'm glad that I still have my accessories because people are overcharging for them online.
I love walking around with the Korean model and having the antennae out. LOL I get so many WTF looks
