I'm on O2 with 510 out of the box, no update available. Europe is at least a month behind eastern territories as they work out bugs before releasing.

Mega annoyed... They haven't branded any of my smartphones before. Stayed on it for now as was able to remove most stuff without root. Will consider unbranded once flashing procedure is more stable.

yeah all my previous smartphones never had o2 branding before as well was shocked tho that they did so on the ZU

The branding is done directly from Sony. The branding can be changed with a three line change in the build prop, and then a restore in Sony PC Companion, its the easiest unbranding I have ever done.

You need root to mess with the build.prop, or just change the one on your phone with the one included below, make sure the permissions are the same and then restart the phone, open Sony PC Companion and repair your phone, it will reflash with the stock unbranded firmware.

FU 14.1.B.1.510 country list

Was reading all of the threads of FU 14.1.B.1.510 and possible ways of having it applied to your phone if you dont get the original update over PC companion or Sony Bridge.
Decided to wait for the Firmware via bridge.
Please post your country and if you have the update.
UPDATE: Taiwan, Vietnam, Iran, India, Malaysia all have updates.
Malaysia - None...
No rush... They are testing the update I think...
Ive seen in threads vietnam doesnt have the update yet.
i dont think HK has it out yet as well.
So as of now it is only Taiwan?
From the philippines too. No update via pc companion. I wonder how soon this will be pushed to us
Sent from my C6802 using Tapatalk 4
HK here and still no update
Sent from my C6802 using xda app-developers app
Indonesia received the .510 almost the same time with Taiwan.
But I don't know whether Indonesians CDA is the same with Taiwanese.. Since I already flashed a HK ftf when I flashed the .475... So my .510 now is from modifying build.prop.
Got an update .510 in India.

Vietnam: none

Where did you purchase your phone?
Lots of sellers in the Philippines are selling the HK version instead.
I bought it in Greenhills. I think mine is hk version. I asked the seller.
So the update is dependent on phone rather than location. So I guess ill be getting my update when hk gets their update.

I hope your feeling is right
To be honest, the only fix i am looking for is the touch screen sensitivity.
I realized battery life of the phone is already pretty good. weird that the drain is alot stronger when using 3g than using wifi. Like almost triple. Hoping that gets fixed too.
Philippines - August 29, 11:28am no updates yet
Is there anyway to check where the phone came from?

Im with you on screen sensitivity. We also need double tap to wake up like the Tablet Z.

malaysia got it
Malaysia, at around 9pm 2013-08-29
No update for the HK version as of now.

Carriers

Wondering if AT&T will be picking this bad boy up?
Hopefully though I wouldn't hold my breath. In the past, T-Mobile seems to be the only US GSM carrier who gets Xperia phones.
rumors are circulating that its coming out for all US carriers
All UK Carriers are expected to carry the Z2, though no one has confirmed definite pricing or anything as of yet.
Tmobile is UK too i think
but romour is that Z2 is avaliable for all , there seems to be alot of evidence behind this one...
and also some romours of bootloader issues with cariers meaning that you may get a unencrypted bootloader from some cariers
Hope this answers other peoples questions

unlock = freedom
yes, after sim unlocking your device you can switch to any network

AT&T won't pick this up. I can't remember the last time they offered a Sony flagship. Spectre51 would know. He has always had the inside word on AT&T.

Bootloader

So mine, as with many in the UK is locked down.
My question is, if I get Vodafone to unlock the phone will this allow the bootloader to be unlocked also, or is it simply the allowing for use on different providers that is unlocked?
Sent from my D6503 using xda app-developers app
Nope, you're screwed if you want to unlock your BL. Happened with me in 2012, I got an Xperia T with Three UK and I've had to play with stock based ROM's since then. It gets EXTREMELY frustrating...
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
Wow, your kidding right, this is a major problem to me as playing with root takes up a lot of my life (I guess it's an autistic trait).
Can't Sony sort for me if I contact them?
What's the point in locking some in that case?
Sent from my D6503 using xda app-developers app
It's not Sony's decision unfortunately, but rather part of the terms that Networks put forward to sell Sony's phones.
Many have tried previously to get Sony to help but have been flatly refused as Sony are bound by their contracts to the network. I tried contacting my network (Three Uk) for help with my Xperia S but again, they point blank refused to do anything.
If it's going to be a huge issue then as stated the only option is to return the phone to your network and purchase an unlocked one either from Sony directly, or a company that definitely sells ones witb unlockable bootloaders.
Edit: Root and Recovery can still be achieved (once someone discovers a method for the Z2), so it's only custom kernels and custom ROMs that won't be possible on Locked Bootloaders.

Question - if I root via an exploit, can I not then force the bootloader to allow an unlock?
Sent from my D6503 using xda app-developers app
Nobody managed that on previous Sony devices so I wouldn't hold out much hope?

But if I root with an exploit it will still be a full root so I can install xposed module and DSP?

Yep you can change anything the system partition. You can install a recovery with the relevant exploit however You are stuck with official signed.Sony kernels..that generally means no custom roms other than those based on stock Sony roms.

[Q] UK LTE version availability

Hi. Has anyone managed to obtain a UK LTE version?
Sony store still shows pre-order only with shipping from the 17th June.
Would be great to hear if anyone has nabbed themselves one!
