Hi to everyone !
i have samsung s4 gt-I9500 clone with MT6572 CPU ,its made by Korea and it is factory rooted .
after testing the phone for couple of days i can say it is very fast ,but i can't find out the exact Specifications of the Ram and internal memory ,in the phone shows it has 2GB ram and the internal 16 GB i tested with many Apps but each application show different result i will add some screenshots and please give your view about it and if any body has the same phone can share with us his ones.
The other question is, i want to change the ROM and add some MODs if possible?? and are there any custom ROMs i can flash? and which flashing tools i can use? and how to install CWM on it??
so modder ,developer please help!!!!

Thanks man, it is good phone and it has air gesture and all s4 options but the bad thing is the camera only 4 megapixel ,

Thanks for your advise but am not that experienced in Rom cooking ,so it would be better if someone has the ROM ready cooked so i can try it in my phone.

Does any of the above look remotely familiar to your own device?
My phone is bricked, but research suggests that I might be able to build a new ROM based on the "system/" of a working device, using Android Kitchen. I'm told that entering the following code into the Terminal Emulator on a working device, creates a dump of the "system/" on the SD card, which can then be used to build the custom ROM in Android Kitchen:

If you give this a go, and succeed in Android Kitchen, I'd be really grateful if you could let me know, and perhaps share the ROM? At the moment finding a copy of the stock ROM looks to be my only solution at this point!

Ok, not to worry. Unfortunately I can't give you the link to the website. The original advert said that it had an 8MP camera, however it only has 4.9MP! I challenged the seller on this, and it looks as though they have stopped advertising the phone. I bought it through Amazon and the seller was 'Active Tek' based in China. I would avoid using this seller as they clearly missold the phone to me.

Hi, I have got exactly the same device as you have. I got the parcel yesterday; it had an app pre-installed called antutu, that antutu thingy says that the device has got arm v7 CPU named universal 5410, clocked at 1.7 gigs.
Ram of about 2 gigs and internal storage of 16 GB. However today I installed an app named CPU identifier that showed that its CPU was mt6572, mali400 GPU and to a heartbreaking surprise, only 512 mb of ram. Please tell me that this CPU identifier is crap and I have got a whole 2 gigs of ram. One more thing is that device is stunningly fast and efficient in handling big apps.
I also found some flaws; smart pause and smart scroll (eye sensor) only worked once or twice; GPS never worked; hand flip only works on one side. May be these issues can be resolved by installing a custom ROM.

I know there are custom Roms Floating around for the quad core S4 Clones with a different chipset and Roms for multiple MTK6577 devices with other names and specs but does anyone know if there is a Custom Rom out flashable for the S4 I9500 dual core clone?This phone is painful to try to use.It freezes up constantly and drains battery like crazy.Also I can't get Google contacts to sync which I depend on for my contacts list,apparently there is some other contacts app loaded on this thing and I'm not sure what files control Google contacts otherwise I would just pull them out of one of my Sammy phones.I am rooted,CMW is installed and I fixed GPS(that finally works).As it sits,this phone cannot even be used because of all the problems.If someone has a link to a CMW flashable Rom for this specific phone please link me to it.Thanks

I have already tried to port like 3 different mtk6577 roms including 1 meant specifically for a mtk6577 dual core phone and I got nowhere. I switched out and removed all the files in the guides for these mtk devices and it didn't work.

I know that particularity clone doesnt have the MTK6589 processor but there is an thread out here that are working in many custom rom for the clone, go there an read a lot, because there are a lot info on there, and there are also links to all kind of clones also the original rom from chinese...

I have spent hours combing through that thread and have even tried flashing fluffys rom. I will look more there.There is support for the mtk6589 chipset on many clones but beyond a link to the original factory rom zip for my particular clone(which I downloaded already). I can't find anything anywhere even on needrom. Thanks for the link though and for replying to me.

I think it was needrom.com .There are many roms there but you have to find the ones for hdc mtk6577 i9300 S4 clones dual core processor if you have the same piece of crap phone.You will get no help with this phone.Noone is willing to help with it.Everything you learn you will have to learn from your own research. I haven't messed with this phone in months.It's pretty much a lost cause even though I have it running ok now.There is no NFC no matter what the box says,battery life is non-existent(unless you buy an OEM S4 i9300 battery) and the WIFI is weak at best.You can however get GPS working correctly if you research it.It is really just an inferior device.I bought it on accident I got scammed buying a Samsung S4.I never would of wasted my money on this P.O.S. Good luck

same here, I got scammed too, I tried to change the Rom hoping that it would improve the battery life, but no matter which mt6577 based Rom I install, none of them can drive the LCD, therefore I have no picture on the screen, all I have is some dots, but the phone works, I get phone calls and all, that's why I was asking, which one did you get, bc after trying more than 6 Roms I still can't find one that can drive the LCD.

I have the original rom still on mine. I tried several and none of them worked. I even tried building my own. I froze all the apps I could and changed the launcher to nova. In your case I'm afraid it's probably not the rom causing the lcd to not work. My guess is your lcd either **** the bed or if you are lucky maybe just the ribbon connecting the lcd to the motherboard inside came dislodged somehow. (highly unlikely but possible)

Hi technut,
I can definitely confirm these battery issues and the WLAN having a low range (to put it mildly). Ok... some bluetooth problems as well...
Anyway I'm using this phone for a second SIM.
Even it sounds like you've stopped investigating about this phone: did you stumble on any news?
Is it really possible to install a ClockworkRecovery to that particular HDC 9500 MTK6577 Dual core phone without causing a brick?
(E.g. with MTK Droid Root & Tools?)

i have flash again my backed up ROM with SP Flash Tools but the problems is still there... i have lost my Samsung Interface !

Really sorry if this has been asked many of times but i really need some info.
I have a GooPhone s4 GT-I9500 with the following:
1.2GHz Quad Core CPU MTK6589
The phone seems to be buggy (camera freeze problem, Menu is a bit buggy but not all the time)
I got told i could flash it with a new rom to see if it sorts the problems out.
I have never flashed a rom before to android phone and not sure what rom i can use on it.
So can anyone please show me a rom i can use and link me to a tut on how to install the rom.
I'm a very quick learner and pick stuff up quick so any help would be cool

As far as custom ROMs go you are prob on a loser unless you want to learn all about it and try to write one yourself. As for rooting it try:
Motochoper or
Root many android by bin4ary
There are other "generic" rooting methods out there but I can't remember them just now.
Rooting is usually device specific so it you will just have to try all the generic options perhaps one will work but no guarantee.
Edit: I have looked into it a bit now. It would seem that you have an allwinner a23 chip set although any info on your ram, cpu speed etc would help to confirm that. As its a Chinese tablet unless either of the suggestions above work (I would try root many android) then there are other options however they are in Chinese. Vroot seems to work on that tablet or there is shuame which is a Chinese rooting and flashing tool. Obviously being written in Chinese care and common sense are required.

Thx for your post my friend .First of all, im not a noob in flashing diffrent roms (custom roms,etc) but i only do that on my samsung phone.
In my phone i change roms every week testing diffrents roms from xda so, i have moore then one ideear about the risk,that s way i ask for tablet because on tablet never flash a rom before.My big problem is that i cant find any info about it ,all i know so far is name,brand,and android version that use. Allwiner Polaris_a70h and run android 4.2.2 JB. that s all.
Im not even able to see her in ADB SHELL ,i try to find a way to install apps on sdcard because on internal is to low memory,that s way i wanna rooted or try somme rom with a2ds suport. But how cand i flash it ,if i dont have not even the tablet drivers for pc ,because i dont no from where to get if i dont find the producer website... so..... im in big truble has you see... ((

Today i try it wihth shuame ...when i open the shuame he view my tablet as Samsung note i9200 or sommething.... and not as A70h tablet model.
But cant do anything because ti need the tablet drivers , that i dont have it (((( if i have the drivers and my tablet can be see it in adbshell maibe i can run the command with settinstalllocation to force install on sdcard ... an maibe rooted too... i dont have a clue what tot do... stuck here feeling idiot ((

if it's one of the tablets that r cheep in the market it's gonna be hard to find someting about cuz no one cares

Sincerly..i never try to boot it in recovery mode because im scare to not brik it... so i dont no if has or not. The onli thing i try is adb with adb devices comand... and list me nothing ( But that is because i dont have the tablet drivers install i think ???

It won't brick your device starting it i n recovery or fastboot mode that's what all the automated roots do. I'm afraid mootmetal does have a point the reason the more expensive tablets have roots is because there is a lot of developers using these devices. The allwinner tablets are a budget Chinese tablet as I'm sure you know and therefore don't have the same developer following. Theoretically there will be a way to root it but it will simply be a case of trial and error. Try things like super one click and root many android. Some people seem to have had success with vroot. Perhaps one of them will work. Sometimes it's just not possible I eventually gave up on cheap tablets and bought a second hand nexus 7 1st gen. If having root access is that important to you perhaps you need to consider buying a tablet with more developer support. Look for methods to root the allwinner a23 I think that is what the a70h model is. You could pop the back off it sometimes its written on the main chip what it is. For example it might say something like rk3066 then you would Google root rk3066 or whatever is printed on the main chip.
Otherwise just enjoy the tablet for what it is and accept that it may not be possible to root it.

Thx alot for advices, i discover in setings clock mode recovery so is not a risck so far, i will boot in recovery mode to see what optiones i have there but the probl remain,where i can get the drivers for this model...and customs roms for it ...
I remember on xda it was a post with an app that can force install all apps to sd card but i dont remember the name ,maibe this type of apk can solve me the probl to not change the rom .superoneclick is universal or is particular depending of type of device you want to root it ??

Glad to see you got it rooted though. I would recommend adaway you can't get it on the play store any more as Google removed it but its a root app that stops in app advertising on tablets and phones. Its available on xda

I have root cleaner pro ,frezee apps or uninstal sistem apps ,quarantine pro do the same thing etc. for block advertising i use addfree or somme, is a good apps i use in the phone too and it do good job..Till now my tablet is ok,today i sucesse to brick the rom trying som experiment but i restore back from factory reset AND it works as a new rom .Now i have a rooted rom but i tell you what i observe :
1- The tablet has 2 partition of internal memory,in first partition say 500 mega ..seccond 1 giga but those two are WITHOUT my memory card insert it,if i put mt card on it, it make it 3 partition (2 partition for internal 1 partition my card) . Ok..in this point, if i instal ann apps let s say facebook,the app is instaled in 1 partition (500mega) but afther instal in settings i have option to move apk to sd card. If you move facebook on sd card it goes in 2 partition(1 giga same internal) not in my REAL sdcard partition.So it born the problem ,after maximum 10 aplication instaled,my 500 mg partition say fullmemory,pls uninstal apps to get space. But the 1 giga partition it has allot of space,not sayng the memory card partition wich is totaly free 4 giga. My plan is to move apps on 4 giga partition(real sdcard) not in 1 giga partition wich is the same INTERNAL partition.... im verry confuse who thnik this partition metod it was a stupid move..
So ... if you say there are not any custom roms for this,an not any script for it, maibe can sugest me an app2sd who can move the hole apk to REAL SDCARD with data and chace not only the apk... i thinking at Link2Sd apk but i m afraid it move the apps in the 2 partition (in internal) not to real partition on sd card.... pffffff...confused again....
I have a HDC Galaxy Note 3 Sunny II 2+16 octa core, and i stupidly used mtkdroid tools to flash a different boot.img and revovery .img file to it, thinking it would change the boot screen, i got the message that

I'm no expert in this area althought I've the HDC Galaxy Note 3 Sunny II 3+16. I think that NEEDROM have the stock rom that you need, even I think they can help you in this problem, I hope so!
I'm always afraid to do anything wrong with my phone like root it, that's why I didn't touch it so far because some tool are not 100% trusty and safe!

The rom run fines for me.
My only and BIG problem that I have is that it gives me low internal memory! It indicates 19GB but when you install 4 or 5 apps the memory is running out of space.
I contacted techsupport ofHDC and told me that a new rom is coming soon with the problem fixed.
Is someone else here encountered and solved this low internal-memory problem?

That's a fake phone for sure. It exists as "JiaYu G5S+" also on AliExpress. Same front with no brand name (first sign of a fake) but different brand names on the back cover. I bet you got it in a blue box also labelled only "Smart Phone"? Funny phone really. I wish I had one to play with to see what kind of apk's it contains to fake AnTuTu score and device info. It also fools CPU-Z to display totally fake hardware info. Did you try CF-Bench? That phone exists as a no fake 80-90$ Elephone P6i. Elephone has a HK based homepage with ROMs and links to other ROMs. Possibly also a MIUI ROM.

Yes, I said it exists as Elephone P6i, wich has those specifications you list. If that hardware is packaged under the name Elephone or Mijue doesn't matter, the inside is manufactured by a few larger OEM factories for all such brands in China. The same inside as the fake Lenovo S850C in this thread exists as Landvo, Star, KingSing, Zoppo and so on also (with very few small variations). These low budget smart phones usually have that in common that a benchmark app will label the manufacturer as "Alps" and/or the firmware as …alps…
Like I wrote in my previous post in this thread, if you have that fake Lenovo S850C you can flash the ROMs for Elephone P6i from the links I posted. There is even a MIUI ROM for that phone, or at least that is what I have been told by people in the business in China. Use Chrome with autotranslation on if you come to a Chinese page (unless you speak Chinese).

I have not read much about how to 'cook', but I have done some testing, I flashed the system.img other devices and some have worked, not with all the operating hardware, but have started.
Now it is studying to prepare a rom for the device (and I managed to put the CWM recovery v5).

Sorry, I have not identified your model. I do not know how to get it working again.
If you made the backup phone can try to recover it.
To put the rom, it worked for me connect my phone to pc without battery and hold the volume +, hold immediately after connecting the battery button. MTKDroid recognizes and begins to download the files.

What did you do with your phone when you bricked it?
That's a fake Lenovo for sure but in a new version that I have not seen before. It has another home button than the usual fake S850C.
But I guess it's the usual fake S850C hardware with a slightly different exterior. It looks more like a Samsung ripoff than an iPhone ripoff.
You should try to flash the ROMs in this thread or go to the Elephone homepage and look for info there. There are instructions for flashing on the Elephone homepage also.
It's very hard to really brick a MediaTek SoC. If I guess right your phone has a MT6582, not a MT6592. It can be an older MT6577 also and then the MT6582 ROM in this thread won't work.
Install the proper MTK drivers in your Win PC and then use SP Flash Tool for flashing (better than MTKDroidTools). The phone must be switched off (not standby, it must be really off) when you flash. Remove the battery to be sure. If you flash the wrong ROM you will only soft-brick the phone, so no big worry.
There is more info in the fake Jiayu G5S+ thread (also the same as Elephone P6i). I suggest you to read that whole thread. You have everything there (probably).

I was lucky to first make a backup with MTKDroid Tools and prepare for FlashTools, with that could resurrect.
I tried to put the rom of elephone p6i and the phone was unusable. Not even picked load, I thought it was broken.
With no reference model I had, I searched several forums as people did to 'revive'. Trying things that I read, and end with a mixture of several got to come back to life.
The most difficult for me is to find ways that FlashTools should recognize the phone to download the rom. From that moment the phone began to work, and now I'm reading to cook a rom for the device.
You have to keep in mind if you use windows 7, XP, windows 8.1 ... to install the drivers, then see which way the mode for firmware (dfu) is activated on your phone ... From what I read many models share the method to enter dfu, look at my previous post and try to see if it works.
If you do not have the backup, I think the first would find someone who may have or who has risen somewhere.
Also if you can find the phone that is clone, you can serve the rom of this. I think that is where you should focus your efforts.
I started looking for the info of MTKDroidTools (MTK6582, 1Gb Ram., android version, kernel version...), then added the type of display you thought was (FWVGA), ... and reviewing photos phones until I gave with which was the original ..., but I don't found a stock rom for this phone. I also helped another user uploaded a copy of the rom terminal in the post (thanks morpheubr).
All this adds patience, I had the phone as you and the end has come back to life. Good luck.
