I have an APP (I did not author it) that looks locally for a specific IP on a specific port.
When I'm outside my home network the app can't see this ip port combo.
I've got my home network setup to forward to the port and have a static IP.
Is it possible to create an APP that runs in the background and converts the local IP/port request to point to my HOME IP address and port?
I've done a little searching but haven't been able to find what I' looking for... Not sure if I'm using the wrong terms or what...
Any help would be appreciated.
Warmest regards,
chavenor

Not sure if this is possible, but here it goes;
My work server address is an IP followed by a port number. Example, 123.123.123.123:1234. The samsung email set up does not allow the port extension. It will only except the 123.123.123.123. As soon as I enter the ":", the botton to continue grays out. Is it possible to create a mod that would allow for the additional characters in my server address? This would be worth at least a case of beer.
Thanks.
Not sure where to post this and if the title is an accurate description. Basically I am looking for something like X-Forwarded-For spoofer so it can add custom ip in the http header for browser. There are such plugins for chrome and firefox but can't find anything for android. Anyone knows such thing exist?
Really would like this to evade location restricting websites. Trying to watch a game on my phone. It is blacked out in the state next to me, and that state is where "my ip registers because of how ATT routes mobile data. +1
I got this crazy idea that I don't know is possible or not... what I want to do is set up my phone as wifi access point, then allow people to connect to it, but handle all incoming http traffic myself.
So:
Create a server (with KWS - Android web server)
client can connect to the phone
when client tries to open an http connection to any random server, this has to be intercepted by my app and handled by a local web server
Anyone knows any android app to do this ?
What you are talking about is a captive portal.
I made a simple app for this purpose. If you are a developer, I need your help to improve the app. For downloading the app and source code check this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/guide-setup-fake-captive-portal-android-t4011689
I have an issue which I can't even start to solve after hours of researching. I need to use GCM to facilitate peer to peer file transfer (JPEG image of circa 1.5 megabytes in file size to be specific).
Client A opens a socket and uses AirBOP to notify client B that it wants to send a picture and gives B relevant information (IP address + port to use, ephemeral I guess). B then connects to A and downloads the picture. All this behind NAT and via 3G/4G if at all possible. No server involved.
I looked into TTorrent, Snark, Cling, NAT hole punching, PWnat etc. but I still don't know how to achieve the above, and if it is possible at all..
This is a developer question but I'm restricted to General. I'm looking for a road map/guide lines/library/existing tutorials/projects on solving the above problem.
Thank you.
App 1: Ability to make multiple IP profiles for one SSID. For example, when connected to one SSID, I want to be able to change my IP from the dynamic, DHCP IP I pulled automatically to a previously designated static IP in a different subnet. Perhaps have multiple static profiles that I can bounce between as needed. This is not for connecting to a router to get on the internet. This is for a specialized process in my company. Also, if this could be accomplished without root, that would be great.
App 2: An augmented reality app that I can import my own Google Earth KMZ/KML files that have my personal points of interest that I could view in the augmented reality app. I do not want these POI's to be published to the public.
Anyone know of any apps that can do these things? My search has been fruitless thus far. I am asking here because I'm always amazed by your Google-Fu. Thanks.
