I really like the pitch black theme but I don't like that the charging color is red - the same color as if the battery is low. Should be blue during normal operation, red when it goes below 15% but then green whenever it is charging. Anyway to change this?

Ok Thanks! The thing I really like about XDA is how helpful and welcoming the senior members are.
So, if I had posed the question as "Can someone recommend a theme that is exactly like Pitch Black except that the charging color is different?" would your answer have been as helpful or less sarcastic?
Well, you didn't ask for a recommendation on a theme. You were upset that your theme doesn't have the "correct" color for charging and wanted to change this. No one here can read your mind.
If you'd ask for a good theme, I'd say to go for Mianogen/Jelly black.

That's right I didn't originally ask for a recommendation on a theme. I asked if there was a way to change the color of the charging icon. Your reply to me came off as rather snarky... so I apologize if it wasn't meant that way.. it's hard to convey over text.
So, I will check out the Mianogen theme, but do you know when it comes to themes, it's not just a matter of changing a png file or something in a system folder? Like, I can replace a charging icon one with the color I want etc?
Thanks
You'd need to decompile the apk and replace the animation files. Then recompile it. I believe it's possible, though I've never done this before.

Back when I was running 1.5 I had Twidroid installed and the LED would blink purple when I had new tweets. I flashed both 2.1 leaks and now the LED is only Green or Orange. I have used a few apps that change the color but no luck.
Is there some way to fix this or am I just crazy and imagined that it was a different color before?
Thanks.
...Wait...What?
Uhhh never heard of an Eris having a purple LED....haha..
From what I understand the Led only does those two colors and the trackball only does white just in case your seeing things on your trackball too.
It seems I'm insane then. Maybe I was looking at my friends MyTouch then. Haha. Thanks guys. THats pretty dumb that we only have the two colors.
you can change the led colors but you have to be rooted and change the lib file. but i take no responsibility for you breaking your phone.
I am coming from the Droid 1 were I was able to setup different colored LED notifications based on different events. When I switched over to the Thunderbolt I can't seem to get those same options. Does the TB only have two LEDs?
For example, in Handcent I was able to set a different color LED depending on who sent me a text, now when I try to set that option it will not open the color selector. Same goes for TouchDown Exchange, I cannot customize the color of the LED.
Thank you.
I am also wondering about this feature. I know its been covered but I'm on my phone and don't feel like looking. But I think it has something to do with htc software or something like that

Is that a software or hardware limitation?

lol. nah, sarcasm ftw. I came from the OG to the thunder. Never really cared for the LED color changes.

I personally liked being able to set a different LED color for my txt messages, made it easy to see if I had something waiting when My volume is off at work.
Minor detail though, that I barely miss now. I can just turn off the led notification for anything else, has the same effect. It's almost invisible behind the speaker cover though, the led on the TB is really only useful for determining when it is fully charged IMO.
I went from the droid to the fascinate and had no LED. Now I went from the fascinate to the thunderbolt, and I'm very happy to have any led.

quick question about the LED's guys... sometimes i look at my phone and no lights are blinking but then i look and i have new texts. i havent changed any settings regarding led lights or downloaded any apps to change them. are they suppposed to stop blinking after a while or is something wrong? i remember on my old droid one they would keep blinking untill i checked it, but then again that was a motorola phone... thanks in advance
I see people mention the LED but in store there's never any conectivity. Usually the same thing with videos on YT. Can anyone confirm an RGB notification led?
Any links to a video would be a plus. Coming from N1 can't take the galaxy nexus delays and VZ exclusivity so hoping not to miss too many features.
RGB notification led of the sort. The only colors I've seen it do is orange and green. Also compare the specs that are released for the Nexus Prime and the Ruby and the Ruby wins 9 out of 10 times on the hardware.

Green, red and amber (orange) only, not RGB.
Red only shows up on extremely low battery.

womp womp...
But thank you guys for checking.
I was just wondering, if there was anyone already noticing the pixels dying on their display.
I noticed it first in the market. With grey background it's visible the most. The area of the status bar seems to be the first to go bad, because it's black almost all the time.
I am using the S2 since ... maybe April, or May (not even one full year), and I can see the screen go down the drain already... very poor quality!
i have use my s2g more than one year and does not have this problem... maybe your luck is not good... send back for warranty..
Did you test the screen?
i tested it last month and not found any problem...
Questions like this should be in Q&A
But I will answer anyway...
Yes...it is a known problem of AMOLED screen...it somehow "memorises" the colour which it is always on (e.g. The black colour of status bar)...i had this issue and went for a change of screen (mine was second hand but still under one year)...to reduce this effect, it is advisable for you to use the screen at a lower brightness...

Totally sorry, for the misposting. Wasn't sure, if G questions should go into non G forum at all.
But thanks for the info, and for moving my post.
I think I will start by going to my provider and tell him, that this is an AMOLED problem. Let's see, what they will say.
Thanks,
JR!
There is actually a Q&A section in the I9100G section......and lol...I am not a mod...
I was wondering if it was possible to have some kind of fancy charging animation when you plug it in to charge like you see on other phones. The pic I've included is not exactly what I wanting but something colorful as opposed to just boring text at the bottom giving the percentage and how long until fully charged.
