SIM unlock vs other stuff - LG Optimus L9 P760, P765, P768, P769

i was wondering, if you can flash cyanogen mod onto your phone, do you need to bother with SIM unlocking, or does that completely unlock your phone at that point? or, if you root your phone and unlock your bootloader, does that have ANY THING to do with SIM unlocking - does it render it unecessary? if SIM unlock is COMPLETELY separate, and always required (for freedom), then can any one recommend a reputable and reliable place online to do it?
thanks.

If you are unlocked, will it EVER lock you down?

Sorry if that's a confusing question. So like... If I unlock right now on Bionix-V will it lock me down if I flash another rom (ANY rom)?
Because I plan on unlocking my phone early, and then switch to AT&T or travel to another country in the far-future. Just so I'm prepared and don't have to do last minute unlocks.
Dont know the answer to your question, but in the past I have unlocked every phone I have had through tmobile. I get the unlock code, have an old ATT sim card on hand just for this. I simply enter the unlock code when I slip in the att sim.
If you have the unlock code (usually sent via email from tmobile) saved somewhere, you can always re-unlock it if it gets relocked with a rom flash
When I bought my mobile, it was already unlocked. I've been flashing different ROMs since my purchase and so far it hasn't locked back down on me. However, I have seen my hubby's phone relock itself after a crash once and it's still completely stock - bloatware and all (very weird).

Can i do the sim unlock via davinci after i've unlocked my bootloader? - Yes(ish)

I unlocked my X10 bootloader when it was released, since then i've realised I still had credits in my davinci account, so I thought I'd have a crack at sim unlocking it.
The question I have is, will this brick my device if flash the 2.1 software back, perform the unlock and then flash back to cm7?
Maybe no-one has tried it yet, but I'm looking for a sensible answer with some evidence to back it up.
Cheers ppl
Stu
OK, So yes I can sim unlock it with davinci, But now I'm back to having a locked bootloader which is probably because it rewrote s1_boot in doing the sim unlock.
Soooo, now I can use another network sim which is my main priority as i just switched contracts.
But I'd like to have an unlocked bootloader so i'm not crippled and can go back to FXP and not SE GB.
I know I could unlock the bootloader and not have network access but that defeats the object of having it sim unlocked.
Looking back, There are a few things that would make this a lot easier....
Hi!
I had the same problem.
I was able to unlock bootloader and running Linuxdx+GingerDX.
Then i wanted to unlock my phone, did it with davinci app and worked all just fine, but after trying unlock my bootloader again the sime network crashes.
I have tried both choices on my phone both semc unlock and seetool unlock.
The same problem.
Only way to rescue my bricked phone is to make a "new" unlock again.
Now i have paid a unlock a couple of times so i dont dare to try unlock bootloader again.
Well i really like LinuxDX+GingerDX.
I beleuve that i am stock with STOCK kernel and GingerDX until a solution is here...

[Q] Difference Between Unlocked and SIM Unlock

Hi,
I have a noob question. When you unlock bootloader, that's mean is SIM Unlock or it's completly different ? I know SIM unlock is to go with any phone company.
Thank you.
Completely different things. With the bootloader unlocked, you're able to install custom kernels, but the SIM Lock will remains (if you have it).

[Q] simunlock after unlocking bootloader

My phone is currently sim locked to my carrier but I want to unlock my sim as I am planning on switching to a different carrier. I've been reading about unlocking the bootloader and it seems there are issues with using 3rd party simunlocks before unlocking the bootloader unless you are using an setool2 unlock.
setool2 is far to expesnive for me and I would rather use a cheaper 3rd party unlock code. My question is if i were to do the bootloader unlock first since my phone is still locked...and then after my bootloader has been unlocked apply a 3rd party sim unlock code, will this cause issues?
Everything i've been reading about is about people doing sim unlock FIRST and then doing bootloader unlock. But i want to do bootloader unlock first and then do simunlock AFTER.

I wanted to know the Exact same thing... I just got an unlock code from cellunlocker. but when i put in a diff sim card it says sim is perso locked. that's besides the point. I read that by doing bootloader unlock the cell manufacturer drops the IMEI i believe from the update list. Idk if they do it for the unlock code list too. or just drops your IMEI all together. I want to figure this out before doing a bootloader unlock...

Trying to network unlock a Samsung A10s

Hi!
I am trying to network unlock my phone - it is paid off but the network here say they won't provide unlock codes (I live on a little island in the Caribbean - things are a little different - legal or not they won't help).
Now for the stupid questions/points.
1. Does unlocking the bootloader mean any SIM will work?
2. If I do manage to unlock the bootloader (please laugh - I have not been able to in 3 days..) Can I remove some of the bloatware, or do I need to install a different ROM.
All I want is to use the phone with another network when I travel, and if not too hard a phone I can delete apps I don't want.
It is a Samsung A10s (A107M)
Thanks!!!
1. Unlocking bootloader does not mean it will unlock your carrier/SIM. Bootloader locked and carrier locked are two different things.
2. You can remove some of the bloatware with or without unlocking the bootloader, here is a good tutorial on how to do it, all you need is a PC and adb: https://www.xda-developers.com/what-is-adb/ and https://www.xda-developers.com/uninstall-carrier-oem-bloatware-without-root-access/
You could unlock it with z3x box. Though you will have to get additional parts.
You might flash a unlocker
