Hey Everyone,
Im new to these forums
I've just sim unlocked a htc one at&t, and i wanna know if i will still get updates,
Do i need to root it to get updates, because ive seen htc one camera updates and software updates
because i live in a country located in South America
You will get updates
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 4
thanks for answering man.
but aren't there already camera updates available, because i didn't find any updates
or do i get the updates from at&t
You get updates from both.
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 4
but do you already got the updates on your htc one
You get the updates whenever they come, unless you want to update it manually but that requires modding your device

You will get updates when they come like normal. If you want them now, you need to search XDA for proper information on how to root and flash your HTC on a custom recovery.

hey man, there are already updates available for the htc one at&t version, but i cant seem to update my phone
I've did the: htc software update and the software update(settings-> about)
but still no luck, is it because I've unlocked the at&t htc one varient?
or do i have to wait a bit longer?
The updates are rolling out as we speak
Meaning, it's no available to everyone from the get go, but becomes available in "waves".
Each wave pushes the update to more att devices until all have it.
TLDR be patient, u'll get it in the next few days

You should try ViperOne rom 4.4 kitkat, best rom out there! For the htc one. For AT&T and T-Mobile, and international! and I think for sprint and Verizon to but I'm not sure.

Hi all. I unlocked my Phone via Cellunlocker.net. successfully. and I know that unlocked devices get updates sooner. Does that mean I will now get updates sooner? If not, is there any way of getting them sooner? without flashing or anything, just via kies.
here is what it says if that's any help

nope. unlocked devices/ unbranded get the update first....then locked ones to carriers get it next. sometimes months later.

nope, unlocked phones (SIM) dont have any special treatment, the only way to get updates earlier is by unbranding your phone and that's not even a reason to have it soon, it depends on the roll out
Fact is carriers get the update at the same time but do not push it out until tested and modded. Time scale varys.
Want updates join XDA and flash stock roms.

Yeah took a quick glance. I need something more reliable. With Roms it's which one has the features working you like. I prefer official I think.
Thanks but I believe I'll pass in the Roms for now. In that scenario any update info?

the custom sense rom in the international thread have everything working for tmo h1. they include wifi calling also. if you dont have the 1.29 update you probably wont get it being htc is releasing 4.2 in the next few weeks
1.29 is not 4.2.
I also want my 4.2 update

Indeed 4.1.2 and 1.27.531.7 is what we are stuck with....
Just called T-Mobile and the woman saw nothing about the updates in their system...
She said if you can download the update and apply it from HTC's website that would work, but rooting and using different software would break the warranty.

I just checked the HTC site and there are no downloads for the TMO phone.
head on over to t-mo's forum and let them know you want your flagship top of the line phone updates available when they hit 2.0 / 4.2.2

The rep would not know anything except an update currently in the pipeline, that is, already heading our way. Only someone at Tmo corporate headquarters would know the strategic deployment strategy, and they do not talk. TMO tends to release updates later than other companies.
t-mobile tends to release updates not at all...
a few years ago my smartphone was updated for all carriers except t-mobile. everyone went up an android version while I did not.
who cares how much difference it makes... t-mobile is clearly lazier about updating than other companies and need a push to do so.

Well, for my Amaze 4G, they released the upgrade to ICS after about 5 months. And then very recently they did another upgrade, which would be almost a year later. But that first major update wasn't that late.
The way I look at it, if you're using these forums, you shouldn't have to wait for carrier updates. HTC did announce that an update is in the works.

true that, the more I think about this the more I think I might as well just root the damned thing and say screw the warranty... its not like I woul ever pay for that PHP plan...
I'm skeptica stable a custom Rom would be that also allows me to keep my Wi-Fi calling

This update (1.29.1540.16) is for the Dev edition. The at&t edition is not getting an OTA
This is true.
Far as we know, att may have gotten their crap together and started shipping it out.

I'm runing CleanRom 2.0 with Elemental X kernel, (which is a wonderful combination btw) I'm wondering if there will be any advantages over what I'm running when AT&T comes out with their upgrade?
Yep I believe I got it because I'm running dg's cognition...in his thread there are already folks reporting about this...and it's not apliable unless you do it manually...or just wait for dg to update his Rom which just might be past this update already...I'm choosing to sit and wait

Its not a major update. Just to address minor things. The big update has yet to come.

you know there is an ATT ruu now which is newer than all of the att software that was shipped. Hoping scott or one of our ATT devs uses it as a base soon. DG stated he thought this ruu was the ATT update that they will be pushing out soon.. I locked and installed it to get any new firmware that it might have, stuff that doesnt come with custom roms. I do not know what the changes are with this ruu, there isnt a change log yet. I wasnt having any issues to start with and i didnt see any changes. That doesn't mean it wont fix your particular issue..if you have an issue that is.. Just thought i'd mention it b/c you guys seem interested in ATT updates..If you already knew, disregard. If you didnt, then here you go http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2287036
And just because this is a lower number than the dev and international phones, that doesnt mean its older or doesnt have the same bug fixes..
Fyi Scott has used this recently go check it out

On top of my not knowing what RUU is, I doubt it applies to me anyway. I am completely stock not rooted and bootloader locked. This is the first phone that I actually like stock and don't feel like messing with.

Has not been officially released just yet, but it's floating around out there... Just got released in ARHD 20.0 (20.1 is their current build now).
Been using it bug-free, so far... worth looking into. You can find it in this forum.
No we haven't got the 4.5.3 update yet
The HTC ones in IFA had the 4.3 update
There can only be one, the chosen ONE.

4.3 for AT&T is on its way, it is already in testing, has been for about a month now.

Like most once I root I can't tame the urge to keep to tinkering with it!I would realllike to eliminate the bloatware though! This is my first sealed battery phone, and in years past I was able to save my own ass by pulling the battery, the HTC inspire i was using didn't always play nice when modifying? But it's still alive today, and for it's time a well made phone with piss poor support from HTC.
