16 or 32GB? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 4

If I buy a new S4, should I get a 32GB one or save some money and get a 16GB one and add an SD card? Will the 32GB memory be faster than any SD card? Does it matter what speed the SD card is?

I regret getting the 16 GB because I am stuck on ME7 and the only way I can flash roms is with safestrap. If I had more internal memory I could have more than 2 safestrap roms which would be cool. But I manage with the 16 GB and and a 32 GB micro SD.

I hate having the 16. I can only have 1/4-1/3 of my apps installed

I have the 16 and a 32 SD card and it is just fine. Would have liked to get the 32 but none were available when I got mine.

[Q] SD memory restriction

Is there a reason why the SD port will only accept upto 16GB of memory? To be honest, I do not see myself using more, but I was curious as to why it was limited at 16.
Seems 32GB cards are known to work fine

[Q] Will a class 4 external sd card work with Vibrant?

Does any one know if Class 4 sd card work on vibrant. Im about to buy an 8gb class 4 sd card and wondering if anyone has or currently using a class 4 sd card on their vibrant?
Thanks.
Been using a 16Gb Class 4 Kingston MicroSD since I bought the phone, works perfectly. I dont see any reason you could not use a MicroSD up to class 10, even though it would be a waste of money. Class 6 is probably as high as you would want to go for performance/money sake.
thanks. just ordered a kingston 8gb class 4 micro sdhc for 12$
Fyi, the card that came with the vibrant is class 4

My class 10 Patriot 32GB loads about as fast as my class 6 16GB lexar if that means anything. Both open up quickly for music apps or gallery. Its just the initial reading after any boot that takes about a min or 2. Hope that helps reassure!

Micro SD card issue!

I just got a new Patriot 16gb micro sd card to upgrade my stock one. My problem is when I moved my stuff to the sd card from my 8gb to the 16gb the new card works for a couple minutes then the phone shows the "sd card has unexpectantly been removed" or something like that but the card is still in the phone. What did I do wrong?
You need to format you card from the phone menu than recopy all of your stuff back to it and you should be good to go.
I did that already and it still gives me the error.

ICS Questions ??????

Will the HTC Rezound loose apps to sd card when we get the ICS OTA update? I noticed many of the new ICS roms on other devices no longer support apps to sd card. I would hate to loose that. I think it may be the new phones that are coming out with ICS as their default software.
Thanks,
Vinny
RedSox got hammered. Pitching sucks.
Might actually have something to do with those phones not having external sd cards.

Samsung Galaxy S3 has exterior sd card and you can not put apps to sd card. I have the T-Mobile version in Pebble Blue with 32 gb of int memory.
No apps to ext sd card.

Upgrading the internal 16GB to 32GB

Is there any way to upgrade the internal 16GB storage to a 32GB? I'm not referring to the external MicroSD card.
It might be possible i think samsung use SD cards as their internal storage.
Yh of course there is sell ur 16gb version nd buy the 32gb version

ORRRRRRRR you can try this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1772234
is it even possible ? unless there are motherboard with 32 gb for sale ?
This is not possible for the conventional person unless you have access to some pro level reflow ovens and flash chips.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
You need a laptop hard drive, super glue and a hammer.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
So is that basically a no, without serious mods to the phone?
Dude the internal flash memory is what's called smd in electronics (surface mounted device). Basically they are miniaturized semiconductor components with tiny solder pads which can only be joined with specialized equipment.
It's impossible to mess with it at home, that's why I sprung the extra cash for the 32gb version.

This is indeed a very interesting notion since the galaxy s3 was my very first smartphone and android I thought to myself that with the 16gb internal SD with an extra external SD card it should suffice but I was very wrong as apps only install in the internal SD card and I'm almost at my limits since I have alot of HD games and apps installed.

Just buy a 64 GB micro sd card.
Have a look at Directory Bind. This should solve your space issues (assuming you have a micro sd card in your phone).

Yeah but there's a mod to swap the Internal and external SD cards so you could buy a 64gb card and have lots of app storage. Its also a matter of time before the app2 SD gets sorted for s3
Oh well no worries, I can live with it
