Hi,I have sony xperia P.
Android version : 4.1.2 Jellybean
Build Number :6.2.A.1.100
I am trying to root my device for two days now.I am unable to do it.Neither i could do in ICS nor i can in JB.
I tried both falshtool method and one click method i.e binry4 but no luck.
The error i get now is :
''Error type 3
Error: Activity class''
Also attached a image of it.
Please help me out,Thankyou.

after creating a fake backup .it will ask you to restore it from device . click on select restore then Root me(on your xperia p device) then it will reboot and then it will be done

You are using the wrong rooting software for your firmware.
Use DooMLoRD Easy Rooting Toolkit, you will be rooted in about 1 minute

There is no official update other than 2.1 eclair.

best way to get ics on your device is go to xperia x8 section choose the rom and download nAa ics 04 kernel after that you will get taste of real ics. the w8 and x8 are the same so you will be able to install it.

Please advice me to root Sony Xperia mini st15i with Build 4.1.B.0.587 with ICS OS 4.0.4 .
I have followed and tried with the following threads but i am unable to get the success.

St15_4.1.B.0.587_Kernel.ftf . After starting flash tool it recognizes the device and flashing ... then i am getting Alert to do some steps (1. remove device etc) After that the following line i am not getting any moves. For 2011 devices line, be sure you are not in MTP mode

I am trying to upgrade my tablet s to 4.1.2 via S.onyTablet.S v3.0 [FLASHER] . However, I always encountered time-out cannot download image files. I don’t know if this is because I am locate at China and was blocked by GREAT WALL. Is there's possible I download these image files manually (maybe i can try to use proxy)
Or, other suggestion to me?

Sony tablet s1 or sony xperia tablet s? If you are using tablet s1 you cannot upgrade to jelly bean you'll be stuck on a boot loop, here are the frimwares tho http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=26882207 but i think you need rescue backdoor to flash them currect me if i am wrong

I've seen that article before it is fake don't believe it, the bootloader is locked so there is no way and also you can see all the firmware in sony tablet flasher, 4.1.2 is listed under xperia tablet s sorry

"DPInst.exe does not execute on your current o.sys" error when using FlashTool
I have an Xperia Tablet Z (SGP321) running stock 4.3 _10.4.1.B.0.101, and have been trying for the past week (on and off) to downgrade the firmware to 4.1.2_in order to obtain root, and re-reflash 4.3
I have tried EVERYTHING, but no matter what I do I keep getting "DPInst.exe does not execute on your current operating system" error message.
I've scoured XDA and other sites regarding the issue but, to be quite honest, ended up as confused as a bag of cats!!!
No disrespect to contributors - who I know do this for the love of Android, and from whom I (and thousands of others)have benefited enormously - but some of you really need to learn how to write clearly about how you've achieved route, flashed roms etc.
For example, posts like "I downgraded to 4.1.2, rooted, and re-flashed to 4.3 without any problems"" doesnt help anyone!! and comes across, to me anyway, as smug.
Anyhoo, I've used alll versions of Flashtool from 0.9.11.0 to 0.9.15 - no joy;
DESPERATE for help as I cant stand using an un-rooted android device (pop up adds all over the place; can't create my own hosts file; no xposed framework/modules.....all of this is my idea of Android Purgatory...but with none of the laughs!!!! or, worse still, an iPhone

Hello, my name is Andrew.
I recently got an xperia lt18i phone.
For free.
this is my first touchscreen smart phone thingy.
I would like to install a nice ROM on it, as currently it has problems connecting to WiFi.
Known issue i was told.
Currently it says:

My main problem is that i can not find FTF files that i could flash to it, to enable root hacking and unlocking and so on.
Mostly every link is dead i find.
Could someone help me where could i obtain a root-hackable FTF file i could flash ?
I can use the flashtool app, no problem there.
I managed to allmost brick this device as i found only 1 FTF file i was able to download,
sxperia_arc_s_lt18_4.1.a.0.562_nordic.FTF
afterwards the thing was unable to start.
So i searched and after a few attempts i managed to find
LT18i_4-1-b-0-587_Generic Global World.FTF
file, i managed to flash it, the device works, but WiFi problem remains.
What i would need is a working link for an older FTF file that can be root hacked by flashtool. Then i will need to unlock the bootloader, i found the tutorial for that.
The other thing i would need to obtain is a custom FTF file that has WiFi fixed.
I can find download links for files like that, but they are dead links.
So please, if anyone has proper and working links for downloading:
root hackable FTF file
worthy custom FTF file
I would be thankfull.
