Hello,
I have an LG Optimus V. I was going through a tutorial on rooting my phone and when I got to a step that says, "choose zip from sdcard" I got an error that there was no file on the sd card. I obviously did something wrong. At that point I was stuck so I restarted the phone. Obviously that was wrong as well because now I'm stuck on the "Fastboot mode started" screen. I tried following a couple of tutorials on how to fix this issue, but I still boot back up to the fastboot page. I am not a novice at working with computers and windows based phones, but I am new to rooting Androids. I appreciate any help you can give.

p.s.
The main reason that I wanted to root my phone was to be able to have more space on my oh so limited space phone. I had successfully rooted my phone by following the first tutorial, but was unhappy with the results so I decided to try again and go with a different rom. That's when I got into trouble. If I can get out of this fastboot fix, I would appreciate any help on a rom that will help with my space issues. Thanks again.

I'm a newb so please be gentle as I'm having a hard time following what folks have said elsewhere on similar issues.
I have G2 and clockwork with stock rom. The only thing I have done to the phone so far:
1. Perma-rooted it. All went well, no problems, used the phone for several days.
2. Flashed cm-5.0.8-droid-fontfix-signed.zip to try and fix terminal emulator gibberish that made perma-rooting very nerve wracking.
3. Phone will not boot up. Stuck in HTC screen. I can get to Clockwork and tried re-setting to factory default and still had same problem.
4. edit - can get to SD card through clockwork/fastboot but have no idea what to put on there to flash and fix things
I know other folks have had similar problems but the computer doesn't recognize anything on USB and I'm a beginner android-idiot. Any step-by-step help for morons would be appreciated.
**edit** Once I got into the sdcard, flashed stock rom linked elsewhere. Sorry to bother folks!
Thank you.
Hello everyone,
I'm new to these forums and I joined so that one of you could help me with a severe problem that I'm facing.
I've got a Google Nexus One (Yes, I know it's old, but I'm a student with a low allowance, so you can't expect me to buy a really expensive phone).
It's two years old and I was getting tired of Gingerbread, so I decided to install ICS. I followed a guide here on this site, but skipped the Blackrose step so I kinda messed up.
My phone gets stuck on the "X" logo and doesn't move past it at all. I've even erased the SD card and all, but it's still stuck there. However, I can get to bootloader. Someone recommended that I download an old firmware rom and place it in the SD card and then install it via bootloader. However, when I go to 'restore' on bootloader, it takes me to 4ext, through which the rom does not install. I get some kind of error.
I don't need ICS anymore, I just want my phone to be working again, on Gingerbread as it always has. Please help me out with this issue?
As previously stated I am a complete noob when it comes to flashing android devices.
Here is the problem I am faced with: I recently rooted, and unlocked the bootloader on my atrix hd (ATT)
Since then I tried installing cm10.1 multiple times on the secondary "Rom slots" within the bootloader, without any success. So I finally decided to go for it and install cm10.1 in the "stock rom" slot, Prior to doing this I did a back-up using Rom manager. Aand now I seemingly can't even boot into recovery mode, every time I restart my device it simply goes to the cyanogenmod blue ring thingy and gets stuck! (I have left it for 15-20 mins thinking it might be some kind of installation process..) But apparently it's not and i've broken my smartphone lol. Anyway i'd really appreciate some help fixing this problem, a step-by step guide would probably work best..!!! I have both windows 8 and Ubuntu installed on my pc, just saying..Don't know if it's relevant information and may simplify fixing my problem...Thanks in advance guys and girls
i've even tried holding down all three physical buttons and it simply takes me back to the same screen!!!
you could try something like this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2434726
.. and you are sure, that you can not enter the recovery menu??
official motorola guide, how to enter recovery menu:

.. adb could be your last possibility, if everything else fails, google it, you'll find many answer
Well i have been looking all over for help with my phone. I have figured out that i tried to flash a rom without unlocking my bootloader. Well im running windows 8.1 and for some reason i couldnt get my computer to recognize the phone at all. After using 3 or 4 different guides i gave up for a few days so not to get too aggrivated. I mean its my own fault but my back up phone sucks lol. So i borrowed my wifes laptop running win 7. I Followed this guide androidforums.com/optimus-l9-all-things-root/807569-guide-security-error-fix.html. For the first time since i started trying to solve my issue everything seemed to work got the s/w screen to appear in reverse and using the cmd prompt that says wiating for device then starting the .bat file from the download it says on the bat cmd prompt that everything worked. well at the bottom its says done then comes up with C:\fastboot\yours. i have been browsing google but i havent been able to find what i am supossed to do with the yours file. i tried putting a kdz file into the file location and running it from that but no luck. after a few min the phone auto reboots and comes back with the security error screen and not the backwards one. i have tried doing the hard reset at the point but no luck. if someone could please help with what i need to do with the fastboot/yours area that would be awesome. Or at least point me in the right direction cuz google isnt wanting to be my friend with the searches.

help
Well i have tried several times now with using my wifes windows 7 laptop. i can get everything to work with the screen coming up backwards and in the command prompts it says that the fastboot is done then loads the command fastboot/yours which with the file i downloaded that file was empty. really unsure on what i need to do at this point. from the guides i have read it seems that im at like a step or 2 from getting the phone to work but after 30 seconds while still plugged in it reboots and loads the secruity error screen. from what i have read i should be able to do a factory reset by holding the volume and home button and then pressing the power for 3 seconds but it just reboots into the error. any help would be much appreciated i really dont want to have to buy a new phone.
Seems like that guide is more for when flashing a recovery on the locked bootloader and things go wrong. It was suggested a few posts down on the first page of that guide that if your problem happened when you were trying to flash a rom you might want to follow this : http://androidforums.com/optimus-l9-all-things-root/792689-guide-unbrick-manual-update-updated.html or http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2085344 (the xda one seems more complete) .
sigh
Well im still stuck on the security error screen. i got the phone to boot into the backwards fastboot screen 1 time and cant remember how to do it again. i can boot into the s/w upgrade mode. if i go to use the lg support tool being that im in the united stats my options is upgrade recovery or help. well if i go to upgrade recovery im told that my phone has the latest upgrade already. if i try and use the moduptest that come in a lot of the unbricking guides it makes me turn the internet back on even with having hte shttps and everything else that is listed in the various folders. i only have the omap44 on my device manager 1 time but there is also 2 lg mobile modems. im thinking my issue lies with the fact thta i dont have the adb file for the device manager. i have donwloaded and uninstalled various times but still no luck. i dont remeber how i got the phone to the backwards fastboot but i remember i was following a guide and the op had to open one file and while that one was stuck on "waiting for device" he opened another one becasue that was the only way he could get it to connect. Any help would be awesome. not trying to rely on everyone else but after several weeks trial and error im at my wits end with it.
thanks

Hi all, attempted to root my phone today following this guide.
I got right up to step 9 but upon trying to reboot and launch from TWRP I began to have trouble. I've been able to access TWRP once, but after confirming install of SuperSU (step 11 here, my phone booted to the LG splash and I got the boot loop saying 'Your phone is unsecure, bootloader is unlocked' or words to that effect. Orange ! triangle.
I can launch to fastboot, or download mode. Turning on to a factory reset sends me back to a boot loop after confirming I would like to reset (leading me to believe I've not got a stock ROM in there at all).
Now when I try to flash any version of TWRP from command prompt in my ADB folder, I'm told my phone is corrupt and it won't allow me to flash.
Alternatively, trying to flash a stock ROM doesn't work either. LGUP does not recognise my model, it only shows COM Ports: [COM4, H85020s]. I've also tried using UPPERCUT but I get the following error: "Error reading from file: C:\Users\...\Roaming\Temp\F9FB5BD\TempFolder\UPPERCUT.exe. Verify the file exists and that you can access it." I've attempted running UPPERCUT from various locations, extracted.
I'm on Windows 10 and I've been trying desperately for the last 12 hours crawling through this site/ other articles for some kind of solution to give my phone SOME kind of functionality. Ultimate goal was LineageOS but now I'd be more than happy getting back to stock. I'd really appreciate any help, hope I've given enough information.
