Hello guys.
I was planing to make this thread for a long time but never found the time to till today.
So I have a problem with banding colors after I switched from stock to CM10.1 with the new kernal. As far as I know we have qHD display with 24-bit colors, yet I'm pretty sure it works as 16-bit one for some reason. I had banding colors on some pictures and games before aswell but it was way smooter. I will show you what I'm talking about.

Shame on you for spamming other threads.
Now, for the issue, check in settings -> (not sure how this si called in english, in spanish it shows as "rendimiento", the one between superuser and about phone) -> 16bit transparency (should be unticked) and surfaces interpolation (again, not sure about it's english name), should have the default option selected.

You have to activate the developer options.
you can activate them by clicking on setting-> about phone->build number-> and click
on it for 6 times continuously.
Big thanks guys, but the 16bit was already unchecked and surface improvement was at "default". Guess I'll just have to deal with it.
If anyone is willing, he can download and test "Into the dead" to see if his device has the same color banding as mine. It's a free and fun game.

Just tested... indeed the color bands are there, even with the other options in surface improvment.
BTW, very nice game! And plays without any lag or slowdown!

My Streak used to take very good photos which came out natively at 2592x1944 pixels, around 300kb in size. But suddenly that has changed and now photos are only 640 x 480 pxls and about 80kb. I've made no changes nor can I find any means of returning to the higher quality. Can anyone shed any light, please?
When using the camera there are settings for this. I am on my IPAD so i cannot provide instructions. Maybe later when I am on the phone.
Hi,
There is a strip of very small settings buttons down the left hand side of the viewfinder area, touch the top one and a scrollable box comes up, somewhere in there are the resolotion settings. Make sure you check the superfine option, then pick 5MP option.
The buttons are really fiddly, it takes me a couple of tries to get the settings menu up.
Hope this fixes your problem.

Not on mine I'm afraid! There are five buttons on the right side (brightness/contrast, store location, white balance, flash mode and zoom), but none whatsoever on the left side???
I remeber that being the case before the Froyo update. Are you on 2.2?

Yes, I am. And I had high quality photos both before and after updating to 2.2. It's only recently that this has happened and I can't think what I must have done to have caused it, nor can I find any resolve. The last thing I want to do is a cold reset, so if anyone can suggest how I might be able to reinstall just the camera app, perhaps?

HI AidanBell,
the option to set the quality of the camera is just below the brightness and contrast option.
Once you click on it just scroll it and you will find it.
Thank you so much. At first I still couldn't find it, but eventually I realised that the brightness/contrast menu is scrollable - which is not in any way obvious nor have I ever known before! So of course scrolling down I've now finally found all the quality controls. So simple and yet so beautifully hidden! Thanks again to everyone who helped with this. Job done.

It uses a Water ripple effect, but i didn´t like the original Background with the dandelion, now it look´s more like a swimmingpool, because it´s getting Summer.

Im Sorry but i can´t make the Wallpaper scrolling because i have to change them into a specific resolution otherwise the apk will not run.

it actually works on other devices as well...i have installed the Flip Clock & Launcher in my Atrix...and its looking pretty awesome in my homescreen!! u should also give it a try.....[i didnt try the boot animation...so not sure about it]
The launcher doesn't seem to scale correctly and there are some other icons over the dock.

you have to enter in launcher setting, now dock settings, then tap twice any option and back to launcher
Change the dpi to 270 and everything fits perfectly. I'd suggest an app like LCD Density Modder Pro so you can apply a permanent market fix. For the overlay on the dock I'd say turn on Tint AB and put the AB Scale to 1. Doesn't completely get rid of the overlay but it definitely makes it less noticeable like in my screenshot.

Here with a mod which changes a lockscreen effects using "light effect" i have made all these images personally using PhotoShop or some imaging tool and will be adding as much as i can in the coming days
Note this is not tested by as I don't have this phone but should work incase any issue please let me know will try to do the need full asap

Don't bother, it's very easy in fact. As the resolution of the S4 mini is each dimension divided by 2 compared to S4, you juste have to divide the sprites by 2

Cant believe that this is normal, but when I scroll, the font/icons become blurry. I googled about it and the only answer I found is, that old Amoled had this problem. But even my Galaxy S3 is crystal clear when scrolling. It's like a motion-blur effect in vertical direction when scrolling vertically.
Do you have this problem too? Actually it's one some of my old displays too, but I dont expect it on an IPS panel from 2016...
Try this
Settings/Developer Options/ Tick on "Force GPU Rendering" this should make your Android phone smoother/snappier!
If root available try L Speed/Entropy/fstrim apps found on Play Store!
LG G5 & LG V20 are snappy beasts and are well optimised with Snapdragon 820 and is better than Samsung.

You see the double frames, in my oppinion the display just has not 60hz/fps or has horrible input lag / refresh timings.
