hello guys
Utmost ridiculousness SAMSUNG removed the option to use their keyboard in one hand although they gave a screen with 6.2 inch size. what we can call that???
any way, now we are in real need for solution for that.
could you suggest guys?
thank you
I use Thumb Keyboard 4 on the market. Set it to one handed operation docked on right side. Works perfect for one hand like my old note 2

Lucky for me I can use the stock keyboard with one hand. I actually really like the default qwerty on this beast.

Hey guys. So I've done research's and tried several methods including this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1320754
And an app in the market. I can't seem to get it to work for the life of me!
Any ideas??

I use the Font Changer (root) app found on the market by Martino and it works just fine. I used it all the time on my Atrix. That should work for you.

The only way I have gotten emoji icons to work on my Android devices is to use GO SMS Messenger with the Emoji plug-in. It works pretty good, but I have not tried to use any other methods as well since some people prefer to use the stock SMS app.

iPhone people/Apple did NOT create Emoji. in fact, they're being sued right now by Samsung over Emoji.

so if thats true why does it work on their phones and not ours?
I've tried nearly 10 keyboards and none of them seem to suit my need of being able to see what I type when I'm using a browser (ie...dolphin,opera,stock browser). Does anyone know of a keyboard that doesn't take up all of the screen when using browsers..when I'm texting, keyboards like wp7 and smart keyboard pro are functional and I can see what I type

+1 for SwiftKey. I got it free from the amazon market one day, and it has been the absolute best keyboard for me since. I would say well worth the couple of bucks it actually costs.
Perfect Keyboard gets a close second, with Go Keyboard bringing up third due to the insane amount of customization you can do to it.
This is what I mean..I've included two shots..one using browser while on Facebook the other using xda premium...I'm now on williamcharles's aokp from. While typing this I can see what I type...
Edit: well I can't include screenshots because the xda app keeps FCing on me..I probably have to clear data and reboot...

I've got an app that only needs numbers, i would like to have only the phone version of the keyboard show, but it only gives me the option of standard keyboard. is there a way to select the phone version for a default keyboard?
Sent from my MB860 using xda premium
Code:
android:inputType="number"
Here is a list of options.

I think i stated my question incorrectly... I'm not developing an app, I'm using an app, when i click in the text box it brings up the regular keyboard. I would like it to bring up the 'phone' key pad.
Like an input option if i had multiple keyboards installed... Hope that clarifies better... Maybe there is a keyboard i could install that is just this?

In order to have an "option" you need to install a keyboard from that market. Not even sure if any of them have that option. you can try swift. If not, you need to edit the layout file for that input and package the app back up.
I ended up finding one called Filt Keyboard... it had an addon option that did this...

Small Problem
When you set the update frequency and change the Degrees settin from C to Farenheight then exit, it reverts back to 4 hour update time and celcius. Setting do not stick !!!! Nice app though but not for me unless this is fixed.

If any of you hate samsungs keyboard as much as me, This APK will install the default Android keyboard which is not present on the device.
https://hotfile.com/dl/178058074/2672b3b/Android_4.2_KB.apk.html
Download, copy to phone, install, Go to settings and input settings and check off android keyboard.
Makes typing a lot easier!

The stock android 4.2.2 keyboard is fine, but it's no where near as accurate as swype. I'd fully suggest just buying it as it's now available on the play store for only .99.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...GwsMSwxLDEwMiwiY29tLm51YW5jZS5zd3lwZS5kdGMiXQ..
works great on tablets as well
The simplicity is beautiful.
Thank you kindly, sir/ma'am.

The Swype included is different than the Play Store model which is also different from the Swype latest Beta.
The benefit to the Swype from the store for me, personally, is you can disable voice dictation as a key, entirely.
Emoji Support
Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I am unable to access emojis from anywhere. The keyboard installed perfectly without any issues and is working fine. Can anyone help me with this?
