I have this HTC evo 3D X515m phone, its on custom rom right now, I am not sure which custom rom is it , it say Super ROM 4.0, coz i bought it from somebody, I am trying to bring it back to stock rom.

I am trying to put stock rom in this one , i have downloaded PG86IMG.zip file from one link from XDA website using this method

Current image version is 3.28.631.1, when i try to update with this RUU it says it will go to image version 2.18.1010.8 which is lower than current version
recovery failed on this one, it shows this RUU is not for this phone, please try correct utility and try again.
Could you please let me know how can i bring it back to stock or from where i can download correct RUU for this phone , it was locked with rogers canada.

It's a gsm, shooter_u, if that helps you any.
Have you tried to get into recovery via fastboot boot recovery.IMG?
Maybe someone that knows more than me will chime in, but I think your boot didn't get overwritten because of s-on, so you might be able to flash a mostly stock Rom and it'll boot, that's just a guess though. Only other thing you could probably do is fastboot recovery and then you can flash whatever you want.

Hi guys, here a short description of what i made with my shooter
it was a working phone with stock gingerbread 2.3.6 as i remember, then i decided to get the ICS OTA update, i downloaded the OTA to the PC and flash it with a horrible way, extracting the firmware.rar file then rename to pg86img.zip and put to SD then flash then brick so my situation now is:
the phone boot with a HTC logo then a black screen with screen led light, i can boot in bootloader with those infos:

I used the HTC unlock method, had a custom Rom, went to install an ICS Rom got a bootloop.
Decided to downgrade to HBOOT 1.4. I followed the guide here at XDA http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1563342
Until I got to the part where I am supposed to brick it. I have downloaded the 2.17 RUU.zip renamed it to PG86IMG.zip checked to make sure the file name is correct, once i copied to the phone and loaded my phone in bootloader it would just check the PG86IMG.zip and do nothing , it DOES NOT ask me to update. Ss this because when I reboot into android it says..
in Settings, ABOUT PHONE it says I have Software number 2.17.651.5
other info on my phone is:
Android 2.3.4
Sense 3.0
Software Number 2.17.651.5
in the bootloader my phone says

Somewhere in the process I downloaded the 2.17 RUU in exe format and ran it from windows. at that point I didn't have a working ROM since I had tried the ICS ROM and bootlooped.
What can I do from here I'm stuck any help would be greatly appreciated.

i unlocked my Evo 3d the HTCdev.com way, al working fine and in tried to flash a new rom through CWM recovery (LeeDrOiD_3D_V5.3.0)
Now my unit is staying in a bootloop, the white HTC screens pops up for a few seconds and boots throught to the LeeDrOid bootscreen, you hear the sound for a second and it reboots again.
I Already tried to flash the boot.img extracted from the LeeDrOid manually, but it stays the same.
Did i overlooked something? Did i brick my unit? I dont know...

I think its because you are trying to flash a gingerbread rom. AFAIK its not possible to boot GB on 1.53 hboot. I would suggest trying an ICS rom
So i installed Yoda's ICS v5.1 and now the unit only boots till the white HTC screen and reboots on and on...
maybe if you list the things you tried i could help you more.
factory reset and wipe cache+delvik cache before installing rom?
manually flashed boot.img?
i would suggest getting s-off to save yourself all the hassle

Yes, i tried to install Boot.img manually through ABD, but issue still persists.
S-off isnt something to install. I'd recommend you run an RUU and get beck to stock. After that look in the gsm development section you will find a thread for s-offing your phone. It involves the wire trick.

I think your hboot is the key; if your unlocked through HTC while on a GB rom then you are limited to GB roms, if you want ICS, you need to re lock, ruu the stock ICS rom, then unlock, then install the custom ICS rom.
I'm no expert but that seemed to fix my issue, i did take the extra step and get S-off, so i truly get full control of my phone.
His hboot is 1.53 which means he did update to ics. Relocking his bootloader and running an RUU should get him to boot into stock rom. Then maybe he can s-off.
There are so many people with 1.53 hboot having problems with every single rom. I didnt take the ota for this exact reason. Revolutionary hboot hasnt given me trouble with any rom.

I just checked the unlimited.io (JBear) website and their modified bootloader for the Evo 3D GSM on ICS is 1.53.5353 so it seems like they support the wire trick with the ICS update, but I agree that it would be better to start by flashing the ICS RUU.exe then HTC unlock and root before doing JuopunutBear.

i have already rooted the phone but its on S-ON.
USB DEBUGGING is not turned on and i don't have recovery installed.

as soon as the phone receives enough power to do anything it turns on and go3es straight into the bootloader / fastboot screen ....
i flashed a custom rom ... called blue or something about a month ago .... i've tried everything that i can think of ... i just want it back stock the way it originally was ... if there is any way to get back stock can someone please let me know ???

Do you have s-off or s-on ?
If you have s-off don't install stock rom. Now, when your phone reboot into bootloader, you can give RUU and install it in bootloader, or...try flash RUU via fastboot (really high risk, but i do that and my Evo works).
