I need opinions and facts about other ROMs for HTC One - AT&T HTC One (M7)

I need a comprehensive list of your favorite ROMs and why they are so great. I just flashed the ODEX 4.3 stock today, but HTC Sense just isn't cutting it. I have tried google stock before when I was at version 4.1 but didn't like its lack of settings access as the One doesn't have a native/dedicated settings button.

Read through the Rom threads and try them yourself.

You need to test for yourself. I jumped the cm bandwagon a few times only to find out I miss blinkfeed. Now I pretty much stick to sense Roms. On stock 4.3 odex now. Fw 3.22

Hahaha.... You NEED a COMPREHENSIVE list from us? There's two really big comprehensive lists already available. Check out:

[Q]ICS Gmail, Gtalk, and Calendar apks

I was wondering if it was possible to install these on my amaze. My Flyer running Honeycomb is able to use them. If I can use them could someone post a link to them and if they aren't out there, is anyone willing to modify them to work on the Amaze?

Anyone?
Sent from my HTC Amaze 4G using xda premium
you can download Gmail app and google talk app from the market. as for the calendar apk. someone has to post the file..
edit: nevermind your talking about Ics...In that case I don't know.
To the best of my knowledge it won't work; though I wasn't aware that they worked on honeycomb. Honeycomb is really almost a very rough draft of Ics so I guess that makes sense.
Gingerbread is vastly different and I am about 100% sure it won't. They use a different framework that gingerbread just doesn't have.

Alright thanks, do you know if it's possible to implement the part of the ICS framework they need to run?
When I try to install the apks it gives me a parsing error, is that due to the framework problem?
Could this maybe get moved to the Apps forum or the Development forum, whichever it fits in. I figure I might get more help/answers from there.
I've tried to install apks from ics roms I've downloaded and they all say parse error

They'll never work because they require API elements introduced in 4.0 to function properly.

But they work in 3.2 so does 3.2 have the same API?

Cause 3.2 was what 4.0 built off of. 2.3 is very far gone from android 3.x... And even further gone from 4.0, at least in layman's terms.

Port of one v rom

I am looking to port my htc one v full sense Rom to this device and I will need people to test so only people who know how to logcat and stuff can test...
I will release 1-2 test builds to hopefully get it booting ...
Check this thread for updates!
Well if you check out android development, you'll see that we already have a ported full sense ROM but still it'd be nice if you made one too, so people can choose wich they want, so that we have more options

full sense implies: full rosie and widgets, all the lockscreens, cube animation, tabbed dialer/contacts, weather video and animations, 3d world clock/globe
sometimes roms advertise as being full sense when they arent...which leads to confusion amongst the end users

How did you port it? I made a port of my own ROM but its stuck in a bootloop I have to manually rebuild my own ROM
base is Latest One V 2.22.401 RUU with Desire X Counter Parts
Shubham, it'd be great if you could port that Rom, and i'll be happy to test it out

[Q] Do you think we'll be able to flash HTC One Nexus ROMs to our devices?

With the HTC One Nexus edition coming out soon, I just wanted to ask if we should be able to flash the ROM from this version to our devices and then get OTA updates via Google. It should work, right? The device would be basically the same device as we have now but with different software. The Galaxy S4 Nexus is basically just a rebranded and unlocked T-Mobile version, so it would make sense if the HTC One version was this as well.
Any answer to this would be pure speculation. We should find out fairly soon though as it's coming out in a couple weeks.
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
Yes. It will work. I am certain.
Sent from the one and only HTC One
May I ask where your certainty comes from?
As far as I know, the HTC One nexus experience isn't fully compatible with TMobiles aws networks.
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
I'm not sure but I did read somewhere where it was stated that once it releases all previous HTC one owners will be given an option to flash the pure google rom so yeah it should be

While I hope it is indeed true, this article is just speculation. There hasn't been any evidence, other then speculation, that has indicated that to be the case. I have no doubt the rom will circulate but I'm not sure if it will have OTA capabilities. That would be unprecedented in the industry.

I can't see why it wouldn't have OTA, considering it's like a Nexus device and Nexus devices have OTA updates.
Your question is confusing me apparently. Are you asking about a current HTC one with a flashed nexus experience ROM or a HTC one that comes stock with the nexus experience(from the play store)?

Question about porting Rom features

When I had my original evo, there were some roms that had features of another phones is. One room I flashed had landscape rosy. Would it be possible to integrate the hand scroll from the S4 into a Rom for another phone. Our could a HTC sense rom be ported to a non htc phone.
Sent from my HTCONE using xda app-developers app
Well the second one of porting a sense rom to a non htc phone is possible because it has been done with the s3 but I am not sure about the other one due to there might be things that are needed specifically for it to work properly.

Compatible Phones for Jedi Mind Trick ROM

What phones are compatible for the Jedi mind trick ROM? I flashed one to my Galaxy s3 and it hard bricked and I don't want the same for my HOX+ international. So is the Jedi mind trick ROM compatible with the HTC One X+ international running 4.1.1 with sense 4+?
Sent from my HTC One X+(International) using xda premium
No rom is compatible with any other device except the device it was developed for. Look in the android dev section. Is you fave rom there? If not maybe ask the rom devs for a HOX+ version.

Unfortunately you'll probably have a lot of trouble finding a ROM like that for the X+. By the time it was released JellyBean was already well established, and people don't see a whole lot of use in porting out of date versions of Android to new devices. Which part of JellyBean makes you prefer ICS?
It was the ability to use the blackout beastmode kernel. But I used it twice and it hard bricked both of my galaxy s3

You wouldn't be able to use that kernel anyway. Every single Android device needs a bespoke kernel developed for that device. I don't know about Samsungs, but you won't brick a HTC flashing the wrong kernel... Still don't do it lol
