[Q] Two questions about FeraLab v30 - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
During the installation of FeraLab v30 I made a mistake and didn't choose the Home key to act as an unlocker, now I have to use the power button every time I wanna unlock my phone
Is there any way, other than re-installing the rom, to change it?
My second question is about the fonts used in messages. Is there any way to change the font (specifically, the Farsi font used for messages)?
I'm not a developer, then I'd need a solution which I can afford.
Thanks in advance

Hi,
First of all, could you please post a thread topic?
This way, members that might be able to help you become aware of the problem much faster.
Regarding your problem:
There is no file browser like in Android built-in.
It should not be necessary, because all installed applications are displayed in Programs.
Additionally, you need to be at least Interop-unlocked (if not even fully unlocked) for this Tethering-procedure to work.
Is your phone unlocked? If so, which unlock does it have?

thanks for yr speedy reply..
no my ph is not unlock as i ve just updated, also i m searching for a tutorial to do so, as i jumped straight from 7.0.7004 to 7.10.7720 i m not quite sure where to start or which to follow cause i m not used to win lingo yet
Incidentally i do not see "Programs" in my ph, is it there by default?
Appreciate yr help
Hi again,
Yes, the Programs are there by default
When you are viewing the main screen (just press the Home-button, the one with the Windows-flag, to get there).
Then flick the screen to the left (moving your finger from right to left) and you should see a list of installed programs (including "Settings", "Office", ...).
Regarding the unlock, there are several ways:
- the official one (obtaining a developer account for WP7 from Microsoft and registering your phone to it)
- the semi-official way (http://labs.chevronwp7.com/) which is a cooperation of Chevron and Microsoft
- the unofficial way (via flashing a pre-unlocked Rom, see below for details)
Both official options cost real money, so you might be tempted to go for the cheap (aka free) version, especially if you are not a developer.
To do this, you will have to flash a custom Rom on your phone, which is already unlocked.
The additional advantage of this method is that you can chose a custom Rom that has Internet Sharing activated by default (via the application that was introduced to some handsets via Mango).
HOWEVER, you will lose your warranty and (at the moment) all the data on the phone.
Flashing will format the phone, which will delete all savegames, SMS, eMails, ... you name it
This should not be a major aspect if you just got your phone.
Everything that has been synchronized to the Microsoft cloud or some other storage can be restored later.
BUT at the moment there is no way to backup your SMS, savegames and settings.
(You can do a full backup for the sake of returning to an official rom, which will include ALL the data - i.e. SMS, settings, ... - however, this backup can only be restored by 100%, therefore you will lose all the data you stored on the phone AFTER doing the backup).
That's that
If you should like to flash a custom Rom, just head over to the Rom Development-segment of the Mozart-Forum and choose a custom Rom.
But beware, depending on your SPL you might have to go through some hoops to flash it or it might even be impossible...
Also, the Rom development-forum provides several threads regarding all the details of flashing a Rom, which SPLs are ok and which to avoid.
So I guess you should be fine if you take some time to read into the matter
Good Luck.
Thks FrozenLord
Ive just restored 7.0.7008 fr 7.10.7720 cos the battery is atrocious it was fully charged n i sent a few emails, sms and 3 ph calls then i went to bed, the battery was flat in 11hrs, when it was on 7004 it lasted 2days
I had a look at the dev section and i kinda like deepshinning rom which i ve to figure out how to flash it. Tho the ph is only 6mths old now i m not bothered abt the warranty the only thing is that do i ve to go back to 7004 to be able to flash the rom?
current: os 7.0.7008.0
fw 2250.09.12902.728
rd 5.69.09.05a.22.50.50.21u
bootloader 5.0.2250.1(130781)
A pointer or a link to flash the ds rom will be much appreciated
thanks again

[Q] strange brick after unsimlock, any solution to fully reinstall stock rom?

Hello guys,
after looking here a lot for improving my x10 (successfully, I love fxp ), I have my first problem, and it is a strange one.
I live in France, and a new carrier made very cool prices, so I decided to change carrier. But my previous carrier provider made its possible to not unsimlock my x10, so, when I went in holidays in Tunisia, I went to a shop where they are known to unlock phones, and they unsimlocked it, but they put an official 2.1 rom, but I couldn't go from cyanogen to stock 2.1... So I decided to install fxp.
I rooted the phone with flashtool, and tried to flash the phone, but it was stuck on se logo, so I used pc companion to install stock gingerbread, it installed. But when I power it on, it's not 2.3, it's still 2.1 ! I don't know what these tunisian did, but they ****ed up my phone T_T
when I start it with my sim, I can enter my pin code, and I only have the blue wallpaper of 2.1 and the top bar. I can't access to anything, the three buttons do not work (except when I put the usb cable, I can use the return button to quit the "charge or connect" menu and minimize the bar when it is fullscreen).
When I don't put the sim, I have the configuration menu, but when I press proceed, it says me to insert a sim card and reset, I can't do anything at this state.
Did anyone have the problem ?

If those Tunisians know something, they are probably here on xda-developers forum ..
You have a thread for sim unlocking, and I think that there is a way to check if your phone is unlocked properly via s1tool or is it possible to unlock it..Go HERE
Thanks, for the simlock soft.
But how can I make it to boot properly (ie having acces to menus, icons and all)
Well, I tried s1tool, and it says that it is still locked, but I don't understand, I was able before trying the update to call with the new carrier oO
PS : is there a way to root/flash without enabling debugging ?
I do not know if I can post this, but I managed to do here.
Debranding a knife around 1.6 android and use the ITS to upgrade

[Q] Can't unlock my Sony Xperia T

Hi xda forum members,
As said in the title, I have issues trying to unlock my mobile phone. It has ICS on it. The problem is : the phone won't accept my screen lock password anymore. I tried everything i found on the internet. First I tried to bypass the password with "Screen Lock Bypass" from Google Play but it says my device is not compatible with it. Then I tried to hard reset it but none of the long press volume buttons to access some menu tricks works ! I even looked for a way to brute force it but I didn't find anything. You guys are my last hope, so please if you know some way to hack my phone tell me !
Thanks for your answers,
Osinix64
P.S. This is my first post ever on any forum, so I am sorry if I did something wrong

[Q] need help

hey,
i´m from germany, please try discribe things in "simple". And i try to understand
My Phone: Optimus P769, T-Mobile.
So here my Problem:
I already made a unlock. So I can use my phone in germany. When I made this, Android runs partially in german...the main functions, like messages and calls and so on. Then I get in settings and i had to choose a language and all i can choose was english, french, spanish and some funny chinese letters. so i choose english and all german were gone. My hope is, when i root my phone, i can also choose german? or is it possible to make an update for android in german? or has anyone any idea? I already try, may over 100 times to root my phone with srs and biary, binary didn´t work at all and on srs it only says after the saving: 19:03:55 Auto Root Failed on this device.
Unlock your bootloader and then install CyanogenMod. It will allow you to choose German as the language for everything.
Follow instructions in (this) L9 forum for how to root and unlock-bootloader. For this phone, there is no srs or binary method. So you were just wasting your time not doing things properly.
