i caught myself double tapping my laptop monitor a couple of times and an old lady sitting next to me at barnes and noble gave me a weird look.

I pick up my Nexus 4 and "knock on" all the time, lol.
LG's new tablet that's coming out will have their knock on feature!

i do it too!!!
I did it twice before I realized I was tapping the nexus

I do that on my Nexus 7 and it works!! (ElementalX)

Quick discussion. Nexus 7 or Kindle Fire HD

I know there are no "door buster" deals with either of these tablets, but I don't work tomorrow and want to buy one. Was hoping there were people in the rezound community who own one of these and can chime in with their own personal feelings. I've done a fair amount of research and I'm torn. The locked bootloader if the kfhd is the main thing making me lean towards the N7.
Discuss!!

I would go for the nexus 7. Everybody I know loves their N7. You get a great JellyBean experience and guaranteed updates.
Nexus 7. Period.

I picked up a Nexus 7 32gb about two and a half weeks ago at Wal-Mart and couldn't be happier. I debated about the Kindle HD and Samsung Galaxy tabs but after much research I decided to go with the Nexus 7. I'm already running JB 4.2 and get awesome battery life.
I sync my N7 with Calibre on my PC for my daily news feeds. I used to use my Kindle keyboard but that's being gifted to mom for Christmas.
When I'm out I tether to my Galaxy S3 so no worries about searching for Wi-Fi.

Definitely the nexus 7. The development available is amazing, and everything else about it is just perfect. I wasn't that excited about it. I honestly only bought it because I heard it was such a big deal and saw the preorder people ripping google a new one so I went to staples and they had them in stock so I bought it.
I have an iPad 2 and a nice transformer prime and do some development on the prime, but I accidentally fell in love with the nexus 7 because of the device itself, the convenience, and especially the development.

The best thing I did to my wife's Kindle Fire was root it and install JB on it. Being stuck on that Amazon app store sucks. I know you can sideload apps, it's easier just being able to pull up the Play store and be done with it.

Personally, I think its perfect. I got it to mount on my treadmill so I can watch movies while running. And for that I think its the perfect size. After using it for a day I think I prefer the 7 over the 10.

Well, it's of course an improvement, but I wouldn't say a vast one, at least compared to a nexus 7 which has a 1280x800 on a 7"!
If you consider, for instance, another android tablet with 10" and a resolution of 1280x800 then it's a vast improvement!

Ubuntu

I wonder if its possible to get a port of Ubuntu phone from the nexus 4 to the OG.
And if so would you have to have the nexus conversion done.

I did this earlier today, and Ubuntu touch looks promising. It's no where near ready for daily use though. But that is to be expected with a developer preview.

....that's your personal opinion. I think that Ubuntu for phones will essentially be more powerful than android and will bring a variety of new possibilities to the table along with a cool new interface. The only negative thing I could think of is not being able to use android apps.
Wait lol was that sarcasm?
Sent from my LG-E970 using xda premium
New interface may be fun to tinker with I guess. The phone ecosystem is all about the apps, though.
All I see is a potentially more bloated os, much worse power management, less apps, etc. But I may be completely wrong.
Regardless it will be interesting to see if this and mozilla's phone os end up being worth a crap.

[H/W] [Issue] Image Burning

I have experienced this issue for a LONG time.
So while in the stock browser for a little bit I locked and switched on the screen revealing the browser bar on top which is transparent.
So today while on the terminal I got a image burn of the keyboard and it was fading away slowly so I took a screenshot and that's when I found out that the screen was the issue.
Does anyone have this issue?

I didn't get what do you say exactly but I am having some transparecy issues too.And I thought these are related to UI.
Edit: Just took a snapshot and unfortunately screen is the issue.
