Hi guys little intro
Samsung galaxy S3 I9300 International
Running
TWRP recovery
Slimbean android 4.3
Basically what happened is the battery died on the phone so i swapped it out for a charged one and the device just bootloops on the slimbean logo. I then went into recovery to restore from a backup and after the restore it said "This device does not appear to be rooted would you like to install supersu." <-- alarm bells?? so i click yes, and now it doesnt even boot up the slimbean logo it just sits at the samsung one.
I have tried
Re rooting using cfroot
Reinstalling recovery
Reinstalling the rom
Restoring to a backup.
Nothing is working? is it possible for phones to throw wobblys and unroot themselves? which would explain why i cant load a custom rom?
Whats worse i cannot for the life of me figure out why just pulling the battery would result in a bootloop?
#
help pleaseeee
An instant shut down will usually result in data corruption, first try clear cache and dalvik, next a mega wipe script.
If that also fails then probably best to flash a stock rom using odin on your pc. You might need your efs backup if that partition was damaged.
Managed to resolve the issue by first re rooting with cfroot then installing twrp then reflashing the ROM, unfortunately my micro SD card got corrupted over 30gb of music and data gone, not impressed, also lost my nandroid backups and my titanium backups

Hello guys
I have samsung galaxy s2 I recently buyed it, phone sometimes gets in reboot loop or it just hangs freezes with screen and if you do not restart it it will stay blocked
I have tried all roms and kernels but no success currently I have the latest samsung official rom
Is there a way to fix SD card or do something like full format because format and wipe with CWM are useless
I need this fixed ASAP because its eating me, and can it be a battery problem or what is the issue?
Sincerely yours
BETIMI
If u tried all roms with wipe etc its a hardware issue.Go to Samsung centre or from were u bought it and replace it

Remove you're sdcard first and do not use it until you sure problem is fixed or still happening...
Flash stock GB ROM using Odin.

How to remove SD card, I dont have an external sticked on it just only the 16GB Phone storage ?
Just go through the rest of the work, remember either the emmc format or sdcard format will work, depends on version of Cwm so don't worry about that error when you get that.

I have tried everything with roms but no success it happens again...
What should I do more ?
If you really formatted system, and flashed a stock GB ROM, and didn't mod it later, with kernels and stuff and still got issues, go to Samsung repair.
Hey guys this is my first time messing with custom roms and my biggest fear has come true i think i bricked my phone, at least soft brick.
here is what happened:
I decided to flash supernexus 5 rom and everything went well, however my wifi wasnt working i tried to do a nandroid recover from a nandroid backup that i had from a while back made with the same version of cmw but it i got the message "no files found" even when i had put the folder with the recovery in my internal storage in the cmw folder. I decided to do a factory reset, wipe cache and dalvik cache but this didn't solve my problem with cmw not detecting the files then i went on and did this i went to mounts and storage as i read on a thread that mounting and unmounting everything solved the problem for a guy but this did not help either, then i went to mounts and storage and formated cache, data and system as shown in this youtube video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZCoI62PG7jE&feature=g-hist after that i tried to rebot the phone but it wont get pass the inicial galaxy s3 i9300 screen, i tried whipe data cache and factory reset again but i still can't make it boot ,I can get to recovery however it still doesn't see the folder that i have there. If i connect the phone to the pc it says installing drivers for the device but it fails and i can't see the phone anymore as connected.
Please help me you have no idea how much i saved for buying this and i don't want to loose it.
this is the version of cmw that im using CF-SGS3-CWM-v5.5-v1.5

You formatted system so you have no os to boot! Flash stock Rom with Odin.
Nb.......if you are using cm10/aosp you need to flash an ics Rom, let it boot, and enable wifi before then going on to flash the Rom as wifi won't work coming direct from jb Rom

Any idea why cmw doesn't see the restore files on the internal sd card

can you remember if the backup was created with a different version of cwm to that which you are trying to restore it from?

yes it was the same version only thing is that when i made it i have rooted with cf-root 6.4, but after flashing the stock elk4 leak i used cf auto root and then installed the recovery on its own but is the same version.

hmmmm......not sure what the problem is then, only thing I can suggest is flash the cf root again(not the auto one) and see if that sorts it, but I would move that backup back to its original location first
thanks again!! i will try flashing it again.

It's just a shot in the dark, but it's the direction I would head in if it happened to me......or I would just abandon the backup and start afresh !
Hi all,
I'm having a very strange issue with my i9300 today. I left it charging switched off overnight, and when I tried to switch it back on, it hangs on the Samsung bootscreen. I thought it was odd, but solvable. I went into recovery to try and reflash with the backup I have stored on my sdcard, however when it tried to wipe /Data, it rebooted and hung on the bootscreen again.
I initally had CWM 6.0.4.4 recovery installed, however I have tried PhilZ and TWRP to no avail. All three reboot on flashing /Data.
Anyone have any ideas?
For information, I was running 4.4 KitKat Unofficial. If you need any more information (preferably what can be pulled in Recovery/Download), I'll be happy to post it.
I need my phone running back normally ASAP!
Hi just a little confused..When you say all three reboot on flashing data do you mean data from your backup? If so your backup might be corrupt have you tried doing a clean flash with another rom or tried returning to stock?..Also if you don't want to lose data stored on your backup you can try flashing the original rom that you where on when you made the backup then using philz recovery in advanced settings/ restore you can then just restore data from your backup not the whole rom...And try formatting data system and cache but don't forget this will leave you without a rom so have one ready to install on your sd card....Hope all that makes sense

Sorry, I should have been clearer. I was trying to Format the /Data partition in recovery in preparation to restore the backup, and every time a Recovery attempts to Format the partition the phone reboots.
I understand now thanks..Mmm..If you can't format data I would probably just flash stock again with Odin get your phone stable, then try to restore your backup...

Bleh. Returning to stock didn't work. It went past the bootscreen to the green android loading bar screen, went part way then rebooted, and stuck on boot again. >.>
Stickied faqs and guides .
But first what does Product Code say in download mode .

You now have to go to recovery and wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache and reboot. It'll most probably work.

Ah, that would make sense. I'll give that a try now.
Nope. It's still hanging on the Samsung Bootscreen. Sigh.
I think I'm resigned to the fact I'm going to have to replace this. Most likely with a Nexus 5. Oh well. That sets back some of my luxury spending for the month again.

Are you even flashing the correct ROM for your device with the correct model number? If yes, redownload the ROM. It could be a bad download. This time try the latest 4.3 Jelly Bean.
Hello, I use Rootbox 4.2 with Dorimanx 9.43 (october). After a reboot i had a crazy issue i never had before : first the rom didn't boot, i was stuck on kernel logo. Since wiping caches didn't help, first thing to do is to backup, so i did and it ended (successfully) but in only 30sec..!
So i plugged USB and checked the backup folder and saw there was barely any data there..! So i thought it's wiped.. I tried reinstalling the rom (which means stock kernel instead dorimanx) without wiping, still no boot but trying backup again, it's doing the backup fully!!
However since space was missing, it failed.. So i had to reinstall Dorimanx, mount USB, make space, reinstall rom, reboot recovery and do back up again (currently on process). I'm wondering if there's an issue with the internal memory, if so i shoud delete all and send back.I would NEVER send back an Android for warranty if my data wasn't wiped before, your life's inside of it!

LOOKING AT THE BACKUP FOLDER, I SEE BOOT.IMG IS 0MB! What does it means..?!

Wipe EVERYTHING from your phone, delete all folders and stuff, then install an Oficial Rom and after that put your Rom again. Can be a Rom, kernel or flash error...

Wipe data
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
Flash stock sammy rom with odin.
If wiping data doesnt work, try flashing kernel. If that doesn't work, flash stock 4.1.2 via odin

i just installed the stock firmware which is 4.1.2 and then tried wipe but theres a message in the system recovery says failed to mount /efs? any clue? thanks in advance.
flash latest philz kernel from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1877270 ,boot to recovery, then restore your efs backup from there(you should have one in your external sd)
Sent from my blazing fast Note 2, running MIUI 5x and pleasantly surprised by it.
just installed philz kernel and went to recovery im searching for restoring the efs but cant find it though. still on bootloop.
i think this phone has other problem already tried 3 different stock firmware for this phone and then go to recovery wipe still on bootloop. tried installing kernel from philz its desame but only thing i noticed is every time i installed a new rom and go to recovery is says failed to mount efs. can it be one of the reason why its on boot loop? and also my friend didnt back up his efs thats why i think this is happening.
do you have a nandroid backup of any previous rom?
yup he has nandroid backup which has on the stock rom but i doubt cause when i installed the stocked rom then installed philz cwm which was 6.0.2.7 i was able to restore the back up but its still on bootloop so i dont know if the cwm is the ones not compatible or the rom.
after you restore your backup do a factory reset in cwm.
now i tried what you said and its showing md5 mismatch when i try to restore.
could be a corrupted backup.did you tried factory reset on your current rom?
argghh im on the blink on giving up on this phone already tried different methods.............
assuming you're now on stock 4.1.2,i suggest you to flash dorimanx 8.43 kernel,,if it doesnt boot, reboot to recovery,do a factory reset. If that doesnt help, try to restore nandroid from this cwm.Of course before restoring do a factory reset and format system and preload partitions.
ayt will try this now!!!
still no luck not working T_T..
you mean you can't restore your backup? And dont forget to wipe cache and dalvik cache when doing factory reset. As for efs,did you looked for it in internal sd too,in clockwork folder? It can be either in tar.gz,img.gz or zip formats. It's stuck at boot probably because of corrupted efs partition. If I remember well, you can restore efs partition from nandroid backup in philz touch cwm.
Have you done a stock samsung rom install usin odin? That should get you back to sqaure 1. If your backup is currupt it will never work.
