Hi! Yesterday evening I installed the stable version of CyanogenMod 10.1.3 . I noticed that the battery is really poor. I use it for 3 hours and it fall down to 50% just texting and a little of facebooking. I used the betterbatterystats to see what was wrong. It report a. RILJ process using over the 70% of battery! Ho can I fix it? If you have installed the ROM did you notice this battery drain?
PS: sorry for my English. I'm Italian

I didn't change nothing. I am in area where there's lot of signal infact my stock rom didn't use to have this battery drain.
I am facing the same problem, but don't know how to solve it, this rom is extremely fast but cause of battery drain i will go back to stock
I have the same issue.
I'm italian too and my operator is Wind.
Maybe we have to change the modem?

Hi,
I have the same problem, after 8 hours unused (Cyanogenmod 10.1.3) I have battery drain ~8%. :crying:
I returned to stock rom 4.1.2 (I9300XXELKC_I9300OXXELK4_XEO) and after 8 hours unused I have battery drain only ~2% !! :victory:
I checked Omega Rom, AOKP Rom and Cyanogenmod 10.1.3 all roms quickly drain battery
In my stock Android 4.1.2 I can use my phone ~3/4 days :good:
please help because Cyanogenmod is a great system but battery life terrible
greetings from Poland
Hi italian mates,
I have the same damn problem. I changed kernel, from siyah to boeffla to googy. Terrible battery drain around 8% in idle...
So is the CM that cause this...
Anyone tried Omni rom? I can't think of heading back to ToucjWiz

i' tried omnirom (2013 11 18) but the situation is quite the same (8-15% in idle) (about 20% in use ..25% heavy use with data and bright at max)
My operator is 3 with very poor signal
So its defenetly back to 4.1.2

if you're just on CWM try to flash the last omnirom's nightly and WIPE all you can(data -cache -dalvik cache)
someone has 0,5-1% battery drain in idle
and max 10% in use

I WIPE all (data -cache -dalvik cache) it does not help even when I changed governor and frequency (from 1,4mhz to 800 mhz because I do not use full power) it did not help :crying:
On my phone unfortunately works best stock rom
I am on last neatrom 4.1.2 with siyah kernel. Extreme good battery life. 14hrs with heavynusage, 3hrs screen on
Italian here, same problem with cm.. but i can't came back to stock... cm its much smooth and fast... i think that i will try omni as some people have just 0,5% drain x hour in idle..

Hi
Last night i installed the [ROM][AOSP][JB][4.1.1][STABLE] SuperNexus - I9300 - BUILD 1 on my Galaxy S3 device and i noticed my battery is draining out like crazy. Cell Standby and Screen are using more than 40% each.
When i was using Ice Cream Sandwich i had the same problem but after installing the battery fix it all worked so tried the fix on JB and nothing.
Is there any other fix or solution for this?
Thanks.
No fix for this until cm sorts it. Live with it or go back to ics I'm afraid mate

That is not repeat not a battery fix if you read the post it fixes a misreported figure only .
battery drain is user start with Better Battery Stats and look for wakelocks .
Battery requires five days use from flashing a new rom .
jje
Screen will always use 40%+ unless you aren't using your phone.

Running the same build myself and experienced an 18% drop last night on standby with Wi-Fi on over 7 hours, i have flashed the latest Siyah kernel update today and ive every confidence this will increase battery life as when i checked the kernel wakelocks this morning the wakelocks were big, the CM kernel i believe is the main culprit in this instance.
Also take into consideration any apps / widgets you have which update and any sTuff you rarely or never use freeze in Titanium backup and also go into advanced in Wi-Fi and set to never or only when plugged in and this will make a difference.
And finally don't use Juice Defender or any other battery saving apps as they use up more battery than they save!

I installed syiah kernel s3-v1.5beta5 over CWM yesterday and still no change, Cell Standby is now using 70% while screen dropped to 7%. I will
now try to disable all automatic updates.
After installing [ROM][AOSP] [4.1.1] Liquid JellyBean Beta 1.1 battery works pretty good without even installing kernel 1.5beta4.
Cell standby dropped to 37% and Screen to 27%
I must say this ROM works faster and adds a few cool options for personalization.

- I recommend you to go to stock or modified ICS , simply functioning Roms and stable .
- JB you can flash it just for fun , still under construction and testing , can't litterly judge it .
You may want to try different modems. Cell standby is mostly not influenced by the ROM but your reception and the flashed modem.

My operator is Movistar from Spain and i am currently outside of the country. I flashed my S3 to JB after leaving the country and now i have no reception, can this be the reason why Cell Standby is always around 70%?

HI all,
i've flashed yestarday the AOKP and I think that is almost perfect. The biggest problem is that battery discharge really too fast.
What do you suggest me for this problem? Is CyanogenMod 10 better then aokp?
Thanks
You can only try roms and look to your apps that may waste battery .

Its not necassirily a problem with your ROM, Install BBS (BetterBatteryStats) from the playstore and find out what is consuming your battery, pay inparticular attention to any wakelocks. Although I am on a TW based rom I too had this I reflashed the ROM and this resolved my problem, If it is a wakelock find out whats causing it.
Hi guys, last Friday I installed the CM11 ROM from Rodger_Rulez
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-u/sola-development/rom-unofficial-cyanogenmod-11-0-t2627210
I came from stock ICS, with ICS I had battery for 3 days with few use, with this CM11, in standby my phone drops battery as hell, I charged battery to 100% last night, in this morning I checked and was with 71% (29% in 8hours in standby), actually is only 55% and I'm not using it, I do not have Wifi, data or GPS connected, also I've Freen Ram always around 100MB, so why so battery drain? as I see in standby with this rom the smartphone not handle 24hours......
Anyone else have the same problem, if this rom is with this battery......I'll return for ICS without any doubt

ho to all i've bought an used s2 that has a problem with the battery. it drains very fast, even with al services disabled. i've bought a brand new samsung battery and also a non original battery with more mha, but the phone discharges always very fast. i'v try to recalibrate the battery with no results...i've last cyanogen rom on it
try change ROM or kernel
Wich rom and kernel do you suggest me
My suggestion:
1. check your battery stats and google fixes to apps that drain ur battery
2. install greenify
3. install custom roms, my suggestion: slimsaber + dorimanx
Whats dorimanx

Dorimanx is a kernel, not a rom.
I ve seen that slimsaber is like a beta not a stable version righe?

Hi, I have got very same problem! I spent like last two years with trying different ROMs. I tried CM, Omega, NeatROM,... but never found one ROM which will not drain battery so quickly...
My girlfriend has got Alcatel OT6010 which has got similar specs as S2 and her phone lasts for 4 days! if she is not on internet all the time. Mine with new extended battery, lasts maximum 2 days max. I am really dissapointed about that
Therefore I would like to ask someone whether he/she can recommend some stable (not alpha or beta) ROM with Android 4.1 or above. Different Kernel is also welcome.
I am looking forward for any help on this!

Since you've tested many roms already, the problem could be caused by old circuitry on the phone. My phone last for 2 days max without using it too, although choosing the right kernel for you could slightly increase battery life (e.g dorimanx or apolo). In terms of stability, cyanogenmod is never perfect, don't use slimsaber, neat rom was quite stable for me, paranoid android was ok, never tried cyan fox, PAC rom isn't going to be updated for a while and is nightlies only, carbon rom is nightlies only. So yeah, just go with neat rom or paranoid android (stable)or cm11 (and wait for next snapshot).
Can i use paranoid with dorimanx?
I haven't had any problems so far with slim saber.
Have you tried the app 'Greenify' yet? It can hibernate apps that drain battery in background.
Another suggestion: Tasker app
Create profiles that for example turn on / off mobile data.
2 days battery life, that's epic for the s2..I get 1 day max at the mo ...and never had much more on any ROM/kernal
phantomEVO said:

Yeah you can. You just need to check what version of dorimanx you install.
There is one for ics/jelly bean and one for kitkat.
And depending on what version of s2 you have you need to check what rom you install. Not sure if dorimanx is available for i9100g
By the way in terms of battery drainage I faced the same problem.
For me it had several causes:
1. My mobile connection wasn't very good and therefore my phone got hot while searching good signal - I flashed a new modem to improve connection... If this won't help a new provider is needed I guess
2. Too many apps running in the background - as already said in a post above greenify will help there a lot as it prevents app from starting without you wanting it
3. Also I installed a new kernel - I'm using dorimanx too. It's battery profile can help a lot
4. Pure performances x (Zeno edition) my phone got a lot faster after flashing this. Also it drains less battery when being idle.
Hope this can help you.

I was using XenonHD earlier and it was more battery-friendly rom. In CM i have drop around 7%/hour with light use.
You can try to disable bettery per app profiles - some say it might help.
