Severe SOD problem after update to v532 - Sony Xperia Z Ultra

Hi. I have an Xperia Z Ultra and it was running v510 till today. Everything was working fine. Then I updated to v532 and then when the screen turned off automatically, it went into SOD and didnt start. It took me 20 minutes to switch it on. I kept pressing the Power key for 5, 10, 20 seconds. Nothing happened. I pressed volume down + power and heard a vibration but nothing on screen. After trying the power button for the 15th time, it switched on. I checked the Backlight optimization settings and they were off, so I switched it on. Immediately after the next screen off, it again went into SOD, repeat same process
tldr;
Didnt have any SOD before 532, now have one every time. Also, are there key shortcuts to switch the phone on after a SOD because I keep pressing the power key again and again (and continuously) and nothing happens for a long time.
I am on stock, locked bootloader, no root, updated via Sony software, no errors. Didnt have any SODs on any previous versions. I have the non LTE model.

The reset button is together with the microsim and microsd slot, covered by flap... You need a sharppointing object to press it...

Same problem here, a few weeks after 532 update phone just powered itself off and now takes a couple.of minutes to boot.up. Did you manage to resolve the sod problem at all?

Enable "Optimize Backlight" again. It's a known fact that you'll get SOD's and "fake hang" at boot when you disable it. Enable it again and reboot. It should be much quicker.

[Q] Has your phone stuck on black screen, blinking LED, and unresponsive before?

I'm puzzled by this as I unplugged it in the morning, drove to work, and sat down in my office to discover the phone is unresponsive to everything when it was working just fine 15 minutes before that. I don't want to do a battery pull just yet. All the buttons are unresponsive and when I plug it into a computer the screen usually goes to the lockscreen but it did not and it wasn't recognized by computer. It did not have a security screen lock active and I have not updated p-rom or any firmwares in the past few weeks. OTA updates were deactivated prior to my last p-rom update. Does anybody have any insight to this? Rooted 1.8.3 gladiatrix 3 b0.2.
Battery pull, and hope that fixes it. Usually the red blinky light means something made the e-fuse mad, and so now it's trying to revert your phone back to factory settings (at least that's what I've seen in the past)
If a battery pull doesn't fix it, reboot while holding the volume down button. When it shows fast boot, press down until you get to android recovery. Press the volume up key, and when you see the android with in the triangle, tap above the search button (sometimes I have to tap it like 20 times before the menu appears), then select wipe data. That will wipe your phone, but should get it back working.
May be soft conflict, i got 02 times. It happens when i ran many apps.

In my experiencemit was just 2.2. Flashing 2.3.4 fixed it for me

Nook tablet won't turn back on!?

So I used my nook tablet all day yesterday and this morning. I put it down to goto lunch.. came back and noticed my wifi was not on.. I checked settings and it showed "Wifi turning off" and it was grayed out and just stuck.
I've seen this before with other android devices so no biggie. I powered the unit off.
Now it won't turn back on. Holding the power button now for about 20 secs and nothing.
The battery is at like 80% and I even plugged it in to see if it helped but no good.
I did root it at 1.4.0 and used the Block OTA method with titanium backup but nobody else seems to have a problem.
Is there a way to boot in recovery or something ? Perhaps a trip back to B&N will be needed.
Ok.. holding vol down + power for around 8 secs got it back on. Weird
i have noticed this a few times. Not sure why but never lost anything

I had a similar problem. I couldn't get the tablet to turn on. I discovered in a Kindle Fire forum that you could get the Fire to start when stuck in the off position by holding down the power button for 20 seconds. I tried that with my Nook and it started right up.
Thank! That worked! I was having the same issue. Said Wifi was turning off and all went blank and couldn't reboot. You gave me the answer.
Cheers.
I have had the wifi "turning off" issue. Rather than turn off the nook, I used the menu that you get with a long press of the power button when you install either ROM manager or titanium backup, can't remember which. It has rebooted every time without issue.
The Wifi issue is a known problem. You can set the wifi to stay awake when on the charger and this problem wont happen. Add the power widget so that you can turn the wifi off when not connectwd to the charger. This combo fixes the wifi issue. When your Nook experiences a kernel error it will appear as if it is off but if you hold it at angle, you will notice backlight is on. Just hold nook button and power and it will turn off...then power to reboot rom.

Actually, it's happened to me twice while I had WiFi set to never sleep when charging.

I rooted my Nook Tablet and it worked fine yesterday. Now it won't turn on and isn't recognized by my PC. I hear the windows alert when a usb device is connected but when I try to do anything via adb I always get 'error: device not found'.
I tried doing adb get-state and all I got was 'unknown'
I tried booting into recovery via holding the power button + n for various amounts of time, but nothing happened.
Does anyone have any ideas? It was working fine yesterday and I haven't changed anything on it since I used it last.
Hold the power button down for about 10 seconds. let it sit for a minute, then hold the power button for another 5 seconds or so and release. It should boot up. (assuming your battery is charged)

I had to do a reset (power button + Home) twice so far. Each time it happened after I left the tablet to recharge overnight. It did not turn on as it normally does when you unplug the charger.
I must admit that the (power button + Home) reset does not seem to be cut & dry. The routine quoted above worked the first time. The second time, I tried it several times then finally I tried the pwr button by itself and it went on.
Mine just did this Power and vol down got it running again.

Locked up SGP5.0

I was in File Expert this morning, about to back up my apps, and my screen locked up (I was just checking apps to BU, had not started it yet). The only button that works is the on/off, but it only turns the screen on and off. No power down, no back, no settings, nothing. SPG5, so can't do a battery pull (what was Samsung thinking?). I thought maybe my battery went to zero, but I have it on a charger now, still just screen on or off. Is there a reboot sequence?
HELP!
edit: Sorry for the panic. I discovered that if I looooooooong press the power button, it finally rebooted. Not like a typical power off, a hold for 5 seconds; this took a hold of at least 30 seconds. Screen did nothing for a while, then turned on, then turned off and rebooted. All is back to were it was...

Xperia Z4 Tablet keeps turning off on its own

I found my tablet turned off in the morning several times in a row.
I could not turn it on by pressing the power button. When I pressed volume buttons and the power button together however, it vibrated three times and switched on.
The battery was well over 60%. It worked fine for the day. But it would repeat the same problem next morning despite being fully charged before bed.
I always used the alarm clock function, so it got pretty annoying.
Additionally the tablet would switch off its display in the middle of watching videos or browsing the internet, especially when I am holding it facing down.
I can turn it back on by pressing the power button, but it happens way too often to use the tablet on bed.
I've been using it for about 3 - 4 month.
I disabled some of the default apps that I do not use when I first got the tablet.
Other than that I have not meddled with any system functionality.
The problem started about a week ago.

Sonim Xp7 phone will no longer sleep

Hello everyone so here's my story
Phone has been flawless until a few days ago never been so happy about my purchase.
I have had the phone for 2 years now no problems what so ever.
I started to notice the screen staying on all the time tried pressing the power button to put it into sleep and nothing.
If i hold down the power button it prompts me if i want to turn it off this rules out the power button not working.
Display setting-sleep after 15 sec
daydream is on
security is off and i also tried adding a screen lock to add the feature power button instantly locks also automatically lock is set to 54 sec.
i went into developer options and stay away is not checked.
Things i tried
I downloaded a app that puts a icon on my screen to put the phone in sleep mode WORKS! I am no expert but it seems like some type of trigger has broken between the power button and sleep.
I downloaded wakelock and nothing is running in background.
Did what i wanted to do last resort and did a full factory reset and recovery phone is fresh problem is still there. After searching for answers and reading many post i am at my last resort and posting for some help?
