A Network Error has occurred? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 4

Every time I am talking on the phone, calling or receiving, A message pops up saying "a network error has occurred"
anyone else getting this and why?
I know on Verizon you cant use 3G/4G while talking on the phone and I did notice that the 3G/4G icon goes away while talking on the phone and comes back after I end the call. you would think the phone knows this and would not give me that error message.
the only app I could think that might make that pop up would be weather or maybe location.
Is this normal on the S4?
Thanks

Could I really be the only person who has this message come up?

I really do believe that the error is related to one of your installed apps with background data enabled. When you are on the phone with no network, the background process fails since it can't connect for data and throws that error.
Experiment removing apps that run all the time, then make phone calls. Until that message goes away. Then maybe you can change the settings of that app to maybe only check once an hour etc...

[Q] Message sent notification GONE!

Hi, I have been trying to get my sms message sent notification going which for some reason was always on before but with the latest hard reset its not.
I have installed a cab supposed to make it work...it didn't.
I have tweaked the correct settings in the registry to make it work....it didn't.
Anyone with any ideas?
I really like the phone to tell me it has sent the message as I live in a lousy signal area and messages can sit for hours on end unsent, annoying when the message is time critical.
Thank you.

[Q] Help with GO SMS App

I've been using Go Sms on my Tbolt, since the stock sms is a bit annoying. Sometimes when I don't have signal right when I hit send, I get a notification that WILL NOT go away without restarting the phone. It says something similar to 'currently unable to send your message. will attempt to send the message when the service is available' ..it's getting very very annoying. I know it's the app because one day I got fed up and uninstalled it, and the minute I hit uninstall.. it went away. I hate it because sometimes I can't see what's going on because the notification is at the bottom of the screen. I've emailed the developer for the app and no response. I've posted questions on HTC's Facebook page, I've asked the question in Yahoo answers, and I get nothing. Is anyone else having this problem? I'm getting so fed up with it that I just don't even text anyone anymore. I really really hope someone can help me with this.
not trying to be ignorant but why is that an issue? if it is telling you your text is not being sent, wouldn't you want to know that?
There is an option to disable outgoing message notifications. Have you tried unchecking that in the settings?
Not really a solution to your problem but I use handcent and its pretty decent.

Well, the problem is...the notification will never go away, even sometimes after the message sends. I've also went and looked in the application settings to see if there's anything causing it, and there's not. My boyfriend's Incredible doesn't do it and his settings are the same. I've tried Handcent and I don't like it. Oh well. I honestly don't know what it is. We finally complained enough to Verizon about our poor signal at home, so they're sending us a Network Extender and they took $50 off the price. We'll see if that helps.

Freezing while texing and call comes in

Does anyone else have this issue? I do a lot of texting, and if I send a message while I get an incoming call, I get an error message up top that says "Message not sent" and my phone keeps vibrating in the same manner it would if I'm getting a call in.
It never gives me the option to pick up the call, nor does it show up in call history. The people calling never leave voicemails either so I feel like an a** not calling back since I don't know who the heck it is. I'm on the stock rom on the latest HTC OTA update.
Anyone else have the same issue? Any fix for it? It's frustrating me beyond belief..

If your rooted you may have a dirty flash or kernel flash... If not then no I never had this issue....
Also it could be a 3rd party app doing it to you.... The market does have some bad apps..... Tho you have to give it permission when you install a app that could mess with things if it needs some crazy permisson that it isn't suppose to need..
I'm on the stock rom, using the latest version of Handscent although I doubt that's what's causing it since so many others use it without any issue. Don't know what else to try really :\

What software are you did u update to 2.17
I would ditch the handscent thing to make sure it wasn't causing issues..
So you arn't rooted?
Yeah I'm on 2.17.651.5, but it's been happening ever since I got my phone :\
I'm not rooted, never done anything like that to my phone.

[Q]Text message received but doesn't download. Also seems to come from the future.

So on occasion I will receive a text message (I think it's MMS but I'm not totally sure) and I will get the notification and an option to download the message shows up. I press the download button and it tries to download for a few minutes and I get a notification "Message not downloaded" and the download button becomes available again. I honestly don't have the slightest clue what is going on. It has happened with messages from multiple people so I doubt it's a problem on the senders side. I have screenshots attached of what it looks like. Judging by the size, I don't think it's just too big to download. Also, I just noticed that the date that the text was revived seems to be from the future. I didn't pay attention to it before so I don't remember if this has been the case every time it has happened.Does anyone know why this is happening and if there is a way to be able to read it? Thanks!

9/10 times this is a network issue, but this (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mattprecious.smsfix&hl=en) app may help you. Are you using a carrier unlocked device with someone else's service by any chance (i.e. an ATT HTC One on T-Mobile or something like that)?

Nope, It's an ATT HTC One on ATT, I'll try out that app when I get the chance and see if it helps.

[Q] Send pictures while in a call

So yesterday I'm on the phone and I go to send a picture to someone(MMS) and after a bit it came up with a box saying it failed and to retry now or later. I tried it a few more times and still nothing. I know my Galaxy S3 allowed me to send picture messages while in calls so is this a device limitation? Am I the only one experiencing this? Or is there a New law or something that doesn't allow picture sending while in calls for some reason?
Just wanted to get some feedback to see what other people are experiencing.

Which app were you trying to send it through? And no, there is no new law that would stop this.
Is it possible you were on wifi when you were trying? From what I understand Verizon devices will not send picture messages over wifi, they have to use the network.
Stock LG messaging app, stock dialer. Rooted device and that's about it. I noticed I actually do not need mobile data on to send and receive picture messages normally (not in a call) so I typically leave it off when I don't need it for data.
My setup when I tried was WiFi on and connected to my home network, mobile data off, and phone call present. Would not allow me to send the picture. I'll try it with data on later and see if it works.
Didn't think it was a law, Which is good. May be that the data was off. And yes Verizon phones do not send pictures through WiFi they do need mobile data for Verizon services (text,MMS).
Well weird.. Called my voicemail and sent a picture message to myself and it went through both with data on and off.
Well I must have had another issue last night where it wasn't wanting to send. Weird thing is it sent after I hit try again and was off the phone.
Only thing I could think of is that the area I was at before typically gets less coverage (although still 4g).
So I'm confused but as long as it works I'll be happy!
Any solutions please update us

I the solution was found. Apparently a fluke issue.
Yes, seems something else was the issue there. I figured it was the call because that was the main thing I was using the phone for. If I get anymore info on this I will share.
