Hei guys,
Can "Glance S4 ROM V2.5" be flashed on Galaxy S3 I9300 XXELKC?
More info about this ROM is at http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2333102
The dev mentioned only I9300XXUFME3 & I9300XXUFME7.
Another question in general:
Should the modem version of the phone and the one mentioned by the dev match?
If they don't match, will the phone brick?

No
you really need to understand the basics before flashing anything at all .
Basics read first.

Critical you read the first two posts .
Hei,
Thanks for your reply.
Will read the posts there and get back if required.

if you want cm9 then go here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1419102
Download the
CM9 Resurrection Edition for use with Odin
that is simplest
or if you need stock ICS firmware use any ICS firmware LP7 or LP8 flash with idon read some thread you will understand every thing
Welcome to XDA and Galaxy S2 users. The Roll Up Sticky thread should be your starting point. Apart from that , the ICS Rom thread should get you starting on stock ICS roms. Once you are comfortable with these you can explore Android development and custom Roms forum.
Good luck.

Read the rules faqs and guides first then you wont post in the wrong forum .

Second you need to learn to search this question is asked ten thousand times already .
Third if you had read the faqs and guides you would have a clue .
.
As said stickies faqs etc links posted .
Stock ICS in General thread and in stock rom thread .
BUT as you know nothing why not update via official Samsung KIES method you are less likely to brick your phone .

Thank you all for the feedback. I have been around the net long enough to understand how things work, but I thought that I would ask to see if I could get pointed in the right direction. Thank you all very much.

Hi guys,
i know most of you are thinking now why i dont search or google or something else but really i cant do anything about this.
I am new to flashing and rooting and i rooted my s3 ella i9300 version with the samsung toolkit v 7.0 via odin.
Now i would like to instlall this ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2106471&nocache=1
But srsly, there is no good tutorial for newbies. i cant understand why the developers never try to help us noobs in such situations like this.
So please can anyone help me out? I went into the download section of the ROM but there are so many files i dont know which to take and download...
Thanks in advance
Full instructions are on the website, linked in the OP of the slim thread which you no doubt read

Yes but you would be better not flashing that rom . But spending time reading the basics first as you are lacking in even the first steps .
Noobs are expected to read first flash last this is a developers forum for developers . Those that don't bother to learn the basics are not going to be spoonfed .
So seriously you read the posted stickied faqs and guides or suffer a bricked phone your choice .

Hi all, ok its been a very long time since i rooted my sg3 , ok i have an s3 locked to vodafone and is running rom 4.1.2 baseband I9300XXEMG4, So is this normal verizon/sprint phone and yes im in the UK.
What i need to no is can somebody post a link to me and the latest easier way to root my S3 Please, sorry to have forgotton the whole thing but its been ages since i last rooted,
Also are there any latest sound boosting hacks that are available now ?
And finally sorry for posting in wrong section to the admin if i have.
Hope to get some help very soon.
Thankyou from Brian.
Makes no sense, this forum is for the i9300 international -if you have a sprint then you'll brick it with files from this forum.
Suggest you go read the sticky thread in general, rather than posting questions already asked a thousand times.
Start by finding out what phone you have .
Details are under the battery .
If it is an I9300 then all the information is posted .
Basics read first.

Critical you read the first two posts .
Likewise sound hacks are posted use search .

Oh i am of the same opinion your question made no sense as sprint verizon is USA and therefore would be in the wrong forum .Likely you would brick the phone if asking for
information here would be extremely high if that was the case and you suggest you have Vodaphone UK phone but ask about some other model .

I didn't intend any sarcasm, I don't want you to brick your phone but I'm not going to type information you can find for yourself in just a few moments.

(1) question like "what rom/recovery/whatever use" are not allowed due to forum rules
(2) Start by reading all guides to get a background on roms, recovery, rooting, flashing etc.
(3) a good start to give you an overview is the development's section recovery threads, the most used, I feel, is Philz recovery, but I am neither telling you to use it or that it is the best, as this is personal perception
good luck!
Its all in the faqs and guides .
Use TWRP or Philz

You misunderstand .
The rules say search first and you should have read the faqs and guides first .
So no the same question that is posted hundreds of times and is now posted again as the user is to lazy to read is not wanted noob or not .
Your question is answered in detail in the basic faq .

Hi,
Just need some clarification please
I will probably would want to install a custom rom like I did for my S Advance.
1) Should I choose one from the "Galaxy S III Android Development"? (I assume this forum includes devices bought in the UK?)
2) And the type of ROM I'm looking for is one that doesn't really change anything much from stock...but makes my phone run quicker and cleaner (by removing unnecessary applications). It looks like there is one called Android Revolution HD 40.0. Would anyone recommend this?
Thanks.
