Hello all! I have a little issue, just bought the HDC Galaxy S4 Legend recently. Great phone.
The problem I have is that, when I receive a call from someone (even though they're saved in my phone contacts, in the phone memory, their name doesn't appear, but the name appears fine in whatsapp and when they text me and all i receive is the number).
I've tried various roms, settings etc, but no joy. Right now i'm using android 4.2.3 fluffy rom (have attached a pic of the software and kernel. Which seems to be the most stable and with air gesture etc. Which works fine apart from the one issue.
I'm on T-mobile UK. And have also tried turning google/other syncs off etc, basically everything. If anyone could help me with this, it would be greatly appreciated.
*P.S. Apologies if I've posted in the wrong section etc, my first post.
Big thanks to anyone who could possibly help. :good:

I have been using Samsung Galaxy S II on AT&T since last one month, but recently i noticed that Mail count icon (bubble) is little broken when it displays the count of unread emails.
Is it something which is fixable or it's a deeper problem. Please look at the attachment and guide me.
Also, I am not sure if this has been the issue since the beginning because i never noticed it.
Anybody. Please tell me how should i tackle this issue.
Same Here.
Yep. me too. Seems a common issue, sometimes it comes back, a reboot fixes it,
clearing data fixes it, removing and adding the icon fixes it etc. etc.
But no one solution.
Any ideas anyone?
Hi,
I fear this may be a silly question, but I've traversed the Internet as well as this forum and cannot seem to find an answer.
This issue happens on both a newly updated Galaxy S3 running 4.1.1 and Note 2 running the same operating system. Both devices were purchased unlocked in the UK.
Basically, whenever I try to add a widget to one of the home screens by dragging and dropping, the relevant app is launched, rather than the widget being added to the screen. I can add regular app short cuts just fine - this only happens with the widgets.
I've been using the Galaxy S3 for five months now with ICS installed and this issue never happened. I updated to 4.1.1 yesterday. The Note 2 was purchased today and the same issue happens.
I suspect the solution may well be very simple, but I can't seem to find it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Guys, i need help, i recently rooted my device to Jellybean 4.1.2 from a specific website, after downloading the filoe which is about 700mb, installed it on my phone, everything looks great until i notice that im unable to make phone calls, dialer and phone apps are not on my device anymore, texting or messaging app is still there but calling feature was removed.
I would really appreciate any help.. Thanks ..
Hi there,
I really hope I posted in the right section, as I'm new to this place and, even though I read some of the guidelines around, I'm still not sure. Anyway, I have a problem with my phone, an Alcateo OT 6030X (which is known around here as Orange San Remo - I'm from Romania). I just bought the phone a few days ago from someone, and while everything seemed fine at first, I came across a problem with its video camera.
When I switch to video, I get an icon on the top of the screen that allows me to select some video effect [big moth, big eyes, stretched face], but when I activate one of them, the camera just freezes, and sometimes the whole phone too. I tried a full factory reset the other days and everything worked correctly until last night. I even checked that specific feature yesteday morning and it was working perfectly, but last night it just froze again. I did install some apps I commonly use yesterday, so my suspicion is that one of the apps is to blame. I have attached the details of my phone, as well as all the apps I currently have.
Any help is apprecieted. Thank You!
Nobody?
Hello,
I am curious if anyone has ever found a definitive solution to this issue that has plagued android since Gingerbread. I have been on multiple phones, multiple brands, multiple revisions of the software and have seen this issue on every single one. Here is a list of the phones I have had:
OG Droid (2.2-2.3)
Droid 2 (2.3)
Samsung Charge (2.3)
Droid 4 (2.3-4.2)
Galaxy Note 3 (4.3-4.4)
The issue is:
Your friend sends you a message and they receive a notification that you received it. However, your phone neither alerts you to a message received or shows it in your inbox. However the message IS getting to your phone, because if you install GhostlySMS it catches incoming messages that don't make it into your inbox. So I must then conclude it is a database writing error or something of the like? Is there someone that can help me? I can reproduce the issue rather easily and can grab a logcat if needed.
I am currently running a rooted Verizon Note 3 (running the stock slot, but safestrap is installed) and am getting hardly any of the texts my wife sends me, and I miss quite a few from my father. She is running a rooted Galaxy S4 with Safestrap and Eclipse ROM.
I have searched and searched but so far all I can find are a bunch of "try this, try that" or "factory reset" without any real solid fix. I would like to find a real solution, not a workaround or a factory reset (if possible). I would especially love to know the root cause.
I know I may be asking for the world here, but hoping we could pool our collective consciousnesses to squash this issue once and for all!
Thanks!

So I did a factory reset (actually I completely wiped the entire stock slot, odin'd stock MJE, and then followed Beanstown's guide to get to KK using towelroot. The issue has gone away. However I have my SMS database and so far as I can tell there is nothing wierd. But I am not a DB admin by any means.
I would love to find out why Android eventually loses its ability to reliably write new SMS to the database after a while.
Anyone have any ideas?
