looking 4 d same
i heard that if you plug it into kies, you can somehow download a file that automatically factory resets your phone, probably designed for when this happens. Maybe you could try looking around on there or something? (i cant confirm it as my phones cm)
Got a friend at work, and his kid managed to enter a usercode onto his SGS2. It´s his businesses phone with LOADS of meetings/notes/sms´s/photes (all on the phone, nothing saved to SD :/ )etc etc and he want to get his info back if possible.
USB debugging is NOT turned on.
vol+,home, power gets puts you on a enter password screen.
vol-,home,power puts you in download mode.
Is there anything that can be flashed via ODIN to get rid of the usercode WITHOUT loosing any info?
Just them him to take it into a Samsung service center proof of ownership may well be needed.
As i work in a phone/tv store we send in ~5-10/phones each day to service centers.
Not one time have the phone been "unlocked/reset" without it coming back factory reset
I´ll tell him to leave it be until monday, and if there´s no other way then flashing, well, suck for him....

Read in another thread to try a bunch of wrong passwords until it asks for a PUK then use that to unlock it (Call carrier for PUK)
Tell your "friend" to ask his "kid" for the code.
Does he have a backup of his EFS? If so you can flash via Odin any xxxEFSxxx.tar file and it will allow access to the phone, you can then backup whats needed and then restore the original EFS.

The kid is 3 years old, and his name is Emil. Just think for a second, if the phone where stolen or ill gotten, why go through this trouble?! The meetings, calander etc can be restored (with pain) but the photos etc cant be replaced! And as i do this, send phones to service, on a daylie basis i want to explorer any other options first as it will likely be wiped when it is returned!

Nothing saved on his part. Got NSPRO, z3x and SGTool and tried everything that i could think of with these tools, but as usb debbuging is off no codes could be read...
Thanks for the input, i´ll guess it will be a hail mary pass to send it in to Anovo, as the biggest servicecenter is called in Sweden.
What is a "usercode" to begin with if it's not the Pattern/PIN/Password lock?
Overcomming the Pattern/PIN/Password lock is rather easy, as Odia suggested, but you even can do it with custom kernel via root ADB in recovery, don't even need to flash a stock EFS, just delete all cryptoprop* files.

THAT sounds like the device encryption is enabled.
If that is really the case, there is nothing you can do without the password, as if you do the above, the password will be gone, but so is all the data as it can't be decrypted anymore.
0000 is always worth a try .
jje
Thanks for the info.
The phone was setup by a former IT guy at the company he works at. That would explain why it is encrypted, as my friend is not very tech savvy.
Unfortunately the guy now works abroad and they have not been able to reach him, and i guess that servicecenters wont reset it with content remaining to avoid potential problems with info coming into the wrong hands.
Thanks all for the replies!
It's impossible to reset it without loosing/wiping the data when not knowing the password - that's the idea when encrypting it
Has nothing to do with service centers "not wanting", it's just technically not possible.
Dear
My Sony Xperia ( Sony ericsson ST25i ) is blocked. After the children were playing with it, my phone started to ask me to answer question (unlock with security question) or to enter google account details (unlock with google account details).
Thing is that I once made a gmail account for the phone but never really used it, So I don't even know what my email was. the question is 'what is your place of birth?'.
But I did not really put my place of birth as an extra security but now I myself cannot enter my phone anymore!!.
Is there a way to reset my phone? Even if I loose my data on it, but I want to be sure the method is not a risk to destroy my phone. I just want my phone to be back in original state.
Please help me with this.
u will need to use PCC or SUS and repair the software.
u WILL lose ALL your data, except those stored in the storage.
goodluck
i guess repairing wont give u access
i dun remember the hard reset combo for xperia u
i guess all hardware keys pressed simultaneously (i may b wrong m nt sure)

Just Google how to reset your phone model I think that'll be the best route to take
Sent from my HTC One X
I just was downloading
The SUS and and PCC to see what is best to use but repairing the original software will not be the solution?
I already googled but only find things as bootloader custom ROM, etc. I just want the original software without risking to end with a bricked phone. I Again searched for reset Sony ericsson st25i or Sony xperia u and tried the suggestions but without avail. Is there a way to enter the phone with my laptop( a program or something?) i'm pc techincian so It Will be not that difficult for me to understand
i can confirm flashing ftf via flashtool will solve the problm bt erase ur phone data (images songs and other things in internal memory will b safe )

I tried that a few miniutes ago, nothing happens, only the phone just starts normal (and ends wit the question of gmail account to unlock )
About the tft file, I did some quick research, but are you sure this will 100% work , even if phone is unaccessible?
Can I use SUS to backup the original ROM, as the phone is from Belgium. I want to recover it with the same ROM, so I can keep the language.
I'm not sure if I use any tft file, that it's also in Dutch, probably not?
I assume tft file is a ROM file? but I will take some time to look for more infor about this.

Nothibg more u have to do flash a ftf file & u will only lose apps that all
I m not earning money by helping you so if u think I gave my time so pls press thanx button
I will give it a try
But first: I always have a habbit to backup the device before taking further steps.
Is there a way I can backup the system files (or how I have to name the phones system?) , so Might something go wrong I can load the original system file (image) back so nothing has changed?
I also want to have a backup of the system files , so then I have the language (Dutch from Belgium) for future use.
Because I'm not sure if the tft file will change the software completely and install an English version or something?
When I connect the phone , I can see the folders /files . Would a copy paste be enough?
and before I want to start, I want to know which version(firmware, bootloader, .. ) I have on the phone? Can I find this information in the files I see when I connect the phone to the pc?
U r too much afraid bro be calm & as per the steps flash the ftf file u will not lose data on Sd card or External memory if u doesn't make a mess out of it & for making backups u can make it as u want & last but not the least u cant brick ur phone until u try to flash wrong images or unlock bootloader

If I understand correctly loading a tft file wil have no harm?
I try to understand what a tft file is.. I was googling it but nobody expain what it is, they just start tellling how to flash with tft file.
What is that file?
well, phone is not mine, I just try to help the owner of it ( a friend of my wife).
I already told her that if I don't succeed with the soft way that there are risks if we try it the hard way. (insurrance )
But really, what is this tft file??
It is a file which is made of Stock ROM(ROM which comes with Mobile). It is just a flashable format which can be flashed via apps I think u have got this mobile from anywhere as far as I understood

I have found an article of this forum, I'm reading it know...
U first said its ur phone then u said its ur wifes freinds phone I think if its stolen phone then it would be illegal on our part to help u maybe
I m not earning money by helping you so if u think I gave my time so pls press thanx button
How do you mean, from anywere? It's not mine it's from one of my wifes friends. the phone is from Belgium, and we are also living in Belgium (I assume she bought it in Belgium.. )
And no, it’s not stolen , it’s just my way of starting a thread, If I have to start to explain from where I have the phone, it wil be a long article but now you know. And I have a iphone 5 , I don’t need to steal someones phone . I hope you androids fan are not against Apple ,I just start the question in here name, as if she posted it. So everything with I’ in my first post, you can replace with she.
And I think if someone steals a phone, he will know what to do with it.
Don’t worry bro, it’s not stolen!!
Can someone please disable this 5 minutes waiting to post? I'm not an intelligent spam application I think it's clear now, I'm a human being or not?
Then go ahead of all the process
I m not earning money by helping you so if u think I gave my time so pls press thanx button
Then go ahead of all the process? I don't understand this way of speaking but I assume you want to say: 'OK then'?
I was following the step by step on how to make my own ftf file. and while SUS was downloading the files and I copied them to another place.
SUS gave me the opportunity to install the latest firmware without deleting (something) or to delete everything and to flash the newest firmware on the phone.
I have choosen for the last option and quess what? Phone is working again! yoepie. My wife already text her friend to tell her the good news.
and strange, some audio files are still there , maybe nothing is deleted after all? hmmm
But many thanks for those who put me on the right track.
So i had someone try to get into my phone which locked it up.

I'm not the best when it comes to reflashing the OS. I don't think that'll work, as it might be a variable that is stored on the system partition, but when you reflash using ODIN, it doesn't touch that. Believe me, Samsung thought of everything when it comes to security. You could try to reset your Google account password and try entering the new password on the phone, but I'm not guaranteeing that will work 100%, unfortunately.
Hope this helps,

The first thing you have to do is to go to the app drawer and open an application called Samsung Retail.
Go to Configuration Settings and enter code 544 to unlock it. If this code do not work, try 5444
Uncheck Disable the factory reset and enter the following password to confirm it: M729Q16K8546..
Turn the phone off and press the volume up, power and home buttons at the same time to boot into recovery.
Wipe data, cache and dalvik cache.
Then reboot.
However if its an LDU then im pretty sure the antenna and sim card slot will have been removed.
