Hi,
When I play music on me phone, via a bluetooth music device, the music has dropout's. It doesn't seem to be a signal strenth problem, as it still doesn't work if the phone is very near to the device.
I've tryid with SE's own Bluetooth loudspeaker and a bluetooth receiver from Belkin..
Is that a known issue?
I'm on Android ver 2.1
All the best, Kent.
turn off your wifi. =]
I know this because I used to have a bt keyboard and it would type like this "hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeellllllllllllllllllllllllllllllppppppppppppppppppp mmmmmmmmmmeeeeeeeeeee" lierally. I did some research online, and it told me to turn of wifi, which I did and the keyboard worked fine now. Same as my nice old Nokia BT-505
hope I helped !
Bluetooth
Thanks I'm rather sure it helped to turn off me wifi. I'll have to wait a little time though, as it did work for some hours before I saw the problem.
I'll get back to you when my test is done
Thanks again.
Thanks
It's works like wonders. No dropouts at all
Thanks for your help.
Hi,
just for information with Wolfs GB there are also no drop out with bluetooth headset and WiFi turned on.
Ralf
Does anyone have the same issue where the wifi becomes wonky when the bluetooth is on and connected to a bluetooth keyboard.
I have the Sony Xperia Tablet Z wifi version with an Apple bluetooth Keyboard.

I am having the same issue using either a Bluetooth keyboard, mouse or sixaxis controller un my Tablet Z Wifi.
If someone is using a bluetooth keyboard/mouse without wifi problems, could they post here as well. I would like to know If every one has this issue.
This thread is about the same problem: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2346553 could the be merged?
I'm listening to internet radio over bluetooth (instead of the inbuilt speakers), have a Microsoft Wedge Bluetooth keyboard connected and am writing this at the same time.
2 Bluetooth devices at the same time plus Wifi, all working.
(Wifi channel is 9. SGP311.)

@hasenbein1966 Could you do a internet Speedtest with and without bluetooth connected, what firmware are you running, and how many wifi networks are on your channel?
My Internet is fast (30000kbps download) I am geting that speed on my tablet z. As soon as I connect my bluetooth keyboard (acctully it is the Microsoft Wedge as well) it drops to ~300kbps. So something happens to my wlan on the Tablet Z. As I am living in a Flat I do not have a channel for my self. I am sharing that channel with 2 other Wifi Networks.
If someone knows what to change on the Tablet Z please tell my, I bougth it just for working with keyboard/mouse!
Mine is SGP312 (32GB, Wifi only), firmware is 10.1.C.0.370, device is rooted, bootloader is locked

just tried playing around with my channels...
the good news is i think i may have actually upped my speeds by changing to a different channel!
the bad news is i drop from around 3.5MB/sec with just wifi on, to under 0.03MB/sec with Bluetooth turned on and a bluetooth keyboard connected... and then it didn't even finish the speed test, it just stopped and said there was a connection error.
this is awful.
Did someone already test whether changing the WiFi to a 5 GHz channel (Bluetooth works in the 2.4 GHz band where also normally the WiFi operates) helps?
(Can't test it myself because my router doesn't support 5 GHz.)
Hi All,
This seems to be pretty common (saw someone complaining in the Transformer forums). I've noticed the same issue myself. I'm using wireless BT headphones, and the Wifi throughput drops precipitously when I'm streaming music to them. I've got a dual-band router, so I'll set up the tablet to connect to 5Ghz and let y'all know what happens.
Thanks,
John Francis
I have now measured speeds with a speedtest app.
When I only have connected my Harman Kardon Bluetooth audio receiver, the WiFi works perfectly normal and has same throughput as without Bluetooth on.
When I connect my BT keyboard, Wifi speed becomes very low (below 1 Mbit).
So, not BT in general is the culprit - it depends on the kind of device!
OK, with the tablet on 5GHz I get ~55 Mbps. On 2.4 GHz, ~21Mbps. These are Harman Kardon BT headphones.

John Francis

@jfrancis999 these rates look both ok. There shoul be no problems. Are these with audio streaming to the Headphones? If you have a Bluetooth keyboard, mouse or gamepad (playstation 3 controller) could you maybe test with one of these connected an 5GHz?
@all if we make a list of all working and not working devices we can maybe find what they have in common an what is the problem.
Not Woking:
Microsoft Wedge Mobile Keyboard, BT Profile HID, BT Version and Class unkown
Playstation 3 dualshock3 controller, BT Profile HID, BT Version and Class unkown
Whit these devices connected Wifi speed drops to under 1Mbit/s
Does any one have a BT Keyboard and while it is connected to the tablet z Wifi speed does not drop under 1Mbit/s?
@someone having good understanding of android and bluetooth: is there a way, I can force the tablet to reduce trassmitting power to class 2 or 3? I want to test if that makes any difference but I do not know how.
It's really strange, since a simple keyboard should need much less bandwidth than transmitting audio over BT, so one would expect the Wifi drop with the audio device, not with the keyboard...
I just have a Motorola Keyboard & Mouse combo pack... I'm not seeing any model number on it, but it's definitely Motorola. Totally kills wifi speed when either one or both are connected. So you can add that to the list.
Hi All,
With the tablet connected to 5GHz I get the following speeds:
* Playstation 3 controller disconnected: 58Mbps down/30Mbps up
* Playstation 3 controller connected: 42Mbps down/12Mbps up
With the tablet connected to 2.4GHz I get the following speeds:
* Playstation 3 controller disconnected: 4Mbps down/30Mbps up (not sure what's up with the download speed)
* Playstation 3 controller connected: 103Kbps down/52Kbps up (OUCH!)
Regards,
John Francis
@jfrancis999 Thanks for your tests!
I will be in my office on Monday. There I will try a 5GHz wifi as well. If that works well, we have at least a workaround. Still, I hope there is a fix for this problem, but untill then we could bypass that problem.
I will post the results here on monday.
I am still looking for someone who can tell me, how to reduce the transmission power of bluetooth on android!?
after a week, sony support finally wrote me back. they said it sounds like a software problem and i should use the PC Companion software to do a software repair. anyone else tried this yet? also if i do this, is there any way to backup EVERYTHING, including my widget setup, icon placement, folders, settings... all of it...
Bah, they simply have no clue.
Like the dudes on the official Sony support forum, this support guy just gave some random halfway "fitting sounding" answer, like a Windows support guy who says: "Restart Windows"...
I wouldn`t use this "PC Companion" crap, honestly.
Hello!
I'm very close to buying this phone (assuming availability...) but have one major concern: my current LG p880 has a serious issue of WiFi and Bluetooth conflict. This means that I cannot use them at the same time (e.g. stream music and listen through Bluetooth speakers).
My girlfriend's iPhone does this with no problem.
For those who already have the device: did you encounter any such problems?
Thanks!

Thread's a bit old but I'm having the problem he's trying to avoid.
When connected to my Sony SRS-BTX500 bluetooth speaker (is it really aptX capable because my phone says so but couldn't find info about it online) while streaming music over WiFi or surfing the net the music drops out for half a second and then plays again normally every now and then but the more serious problem is that sometimes I can't even surf the net while being connected to bluetooth because it simply isn't able to load the page.
It just happend to me minutes ago on facebook. I was surfing completely normal then decided to listen to music on the bluetooth speaker by streaming music from Spotify over WiFi and when I wanted to continue surfing facebook it couldn't load the next page.
After switching bluetooth off and reloading the page everything worked normal.
After reconnectiong both worked together but the sound droped out every now and then.
I'm on stock Sony firmware and ROM 17.1.A.2.55 bought in Germany.
Kind regards

That's interesting (and annoying). By now I have the phone (bought on eBay Germany) running the same firmware and I have no such problems. I stream music over Wifi, play it with a Bluetooth system and surf the web without delays or breaks in the music.
Maybe Spotify streams in a very high quality that you can reduce?
With my previous phone I partly solved the wifi/BT conflict with an app called Bluetooth Keepalive. It was working quite well. Maybe you could give it a try.
I already lowered the streaming quality of Spotify to normal because with extreme I didn't could think about surfing the net.
As far as I remember the WiFi even dropped out several times on extreme quality.
I just looked in the Playstore and I will sure as hell not pay money for an app which maybe solves a problem which shouldn't even exist in the first place and especially not on a high-end smartphone for 600€!
WiFi too slow when Bluetooth active. Sony Xperia z2
Hello, it has been a while since the last post here. I have a Sony Xperia z2 phone and I realized that the WiFi connection was too slow. I have also an iPad air and a Samsung galaxy 10.1 2014 that are connected to the same router and that were really fast. They were at 10Mbps while the phone was under 1 Mbps and very unstable. The tests I have done were made with ookla speed test. I tried restarting both the router and the phone but the prone was still there, so I tried to change battery settings and WiFi settings with all the possible mix. But the speed didn't went up. So I started killing some connections like NFC, GPS, but nothing changed, so when the moment arrived for testing turning off the Bluetooth connection, everything changed. The speed was over 6Mbps for the first time and after that test all the tests were over 5 Mbps.
Everything showed that the problem was the Bluetooth, but not being so easy to believe, I started one test and while the download test was showing speed over 6 Mbps, I turned on the Bluetooth and instantly the speed went under 1 Mbps.
With this experiment I have demonstrated myself that the problem was the Bluetooth connection.
I would want that this post change the focus of this problem and lead to a solution different than turning off the Bluetooth while using WiFi.
Thanks for your support...
I can confirm that turning Bluetooth on and off during a speed test definitely interferes with the connection. It slows or stops the test when you turn Bluetooth on or off. Interesting!

Hi everyone,
I noticed that every time I begin to play music via Bluetooth speakers within 2 mins my wifi internet drops. I remain connected to the Wi-Fi but it shows no internet connectivity. Once I disconnect from the Bluetooth device and restart the wifi on the phone, it comes back to normal and works flawless. My wifi runs on 2.4ghz. I tried changing router channels but there was not much improvement. Is this a fault of the device or is anyone else facing similar issues. If someone can suggest a fix for this it'd be great.
Thanks.
Anyone!!
Hi. I have similar problem. I am using Pebble smartwatch, Mi Band, bluetooth headset, and laso radio in a car, so i have bluetooth always on. Lately i am experiencing massive problems with wifi 2,4 GHz(slow speeds, instability, dropping connection) - 5 GHz is working fine. Yesterday i have read some tips to turn off bluetooth, and EUREKA, wifi 2,4 GHz works fine.... I know that bt, and wifi 2,4 working on similar frequency, but hey, i didn't have those problems with previous Samsungs(S2,S4,N4,S7), so something have to be not ok with my S9+. I've recorded this behaviour https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VJTPn_GjJs0 . Have you found a solution? I am gathering data for phone service under warranty.
