What would be the best phone after the Amaze 4G? Please don't flame or troll. Its a simple question.
The Amaze was Amazing, but I am considering other phones, because
a) I hate Amaze's battery life
b) the gpu (Adreno) is not as good as the latest smartphone gpus
c) HTC's support for the Amaze SUCKS limiting the speed of ROM development
d) the storage system format SUCKS. 2GB for apps and games and ~10-12GB for everything else. I have a 32GB sd card, but games and its data can only be allocated to the usable 12-14 GB. I'm a huge gamer, so that sucks so much. PLEASE tell me if yall know of a way to make the data go to my 32GB sd card instead of the INTERNAL sd card.
My two main choices are either the:
One X+ or Galaxy Note II
I want One X+ for HTC's awesome camera technology, Tegra 3 GPU and its exclusive games, 64GB is good enough for me, so I don't need an SD card. Con? I think its only for AT&T and I have SimpleMobile
I want the Galaxy Note II for the 2GB ram, AWESOME battery stats, and the fact that Samsung is better at supporting their phones than HTC plus it is on T-Mobile, so I can use it with SimpleMobile.
I really want to get the One X+, but only being for AT&T sucks. Plus I don't know how short of a time 1GB RAM will be classified as too little in the smartphone gaming world.
Think I'm going for note 2, pre ordered one yesterday from Mobilicity.

One X+
ppl look dumb making calls with a phablet...just my opinion
A friend of mine gave me an galaxy note I. I enjoyed it for like two days and got sick of the size. Way to big to be used as a phone I agree wit the above post I have two sgII and they are identical but better in size
They're even dumb-er when they need 2 lug around a phone & tablet 2 my 1 device at double the $. LOL

The only phone I'm considering is the note 2. I feel like that device is the only thing that is truly different than any other one I've used, other than general hardware specs

Well, note 2 is a good choice, but if you can't handle the size, then the galaxy s3 is your friend

I would wait until the new nexus is announced and then wait a little more for the HTC nexus I had the nexus one and it was an amazing phone so if HTC makes a new nexus (chances are multiple phone developers will get the chance) that way all development woes will be gone and you will have a nice quality phone with vanilla android
So my upgrade is in a couple weeks. So I'm debating between this phone, Samsung galaxy s3, or the droid dna. What are your opinions on Samsung galaxy note 2?

Note 2 has bigger and brighter screen, and longer lasting battery than S3. Other than that, they are very similar.
DNA doesn't have a removable battery or allow you to add more storage. You're pretty much stuck with 16gig, which is what the Note 2 comes standard with, but the Note 2 allows you to expand up to an additional 64 gigs.
This topic HAS been beaten to death...but the Note 2 still wins

Don't forget the s-pen! That's the main reason I went with the note (along with screen second and battery third; and wanting to leave iOS - unrankable).
You might also wait until march to see what the S4 will offer. If you dont want to wait, most people a very very happy with their Note 2. I especially love the Note 2's battery life.
Whatever your choice is, good luck. And please search before you post. There are several people that dont mind helping, but it can be frustrating to help those who dont help themselves.

The SGS4 is likely 6-8 months off at this point. Their last release was in the summer, and every release before that was in the summer in the US (late spring internationally). If you want a phone now, I'd say get the Note 2, if you can wait, this coming summer/fall looks like it will be amazing
Well as of right now that's a rumor that the s4 will be out in March. Also I have a lg revolution which is the worst phone I ever bought

The international release has been 3-4 months before US Carrier release so far, so the earliest you'd see it is June/July in the US on VZW.

Lol I remember selling that phone when I worked for Vzw. It was great at the time but now...well you already know. I got my note2 on Xmas eve and I can't think of any other device I would own at this point. The spen opens up so many options. I find myself officially spoiled after owning this. No other phone on Verizon in my opinion can rival the Note2 unless you can't deal with the size.
Even Verizon and lg said the phone sucked. That's why the released the spectrum so quick

I wasnt saying the phone will be out in march. I said wait until march to see what it will have to offer. I was referring to it being announced in march. Either ar MWC or its own event.
Just to be clear: I agree the S4 will more than likely not be available for purchase until July in the US.
On a side note: my gf cousin works for a company that plans big events for corporations. They have been working on something big for Samsung. He was in town for christmas and was pretty much on the phone (ironically an iPhone) the whole time having teleconferences with Korea. My guess is the S4 but they dont get told the actual product until a couple of weeks out.

I think the Note 2 is the best phone out right now. All phones have compromises. S3 only has 1gb of RAM, DNA doesn't have expandable storage and battery life is so/so.
I've only had the note 2 a few days, but I've been a little disappointed with battery life. I'm coming from a Rezound with extended battery (2750mah). The battery life is similar to that and the Rezound got bashed for poor battery life. I was expecting a little more. Guessing it might get better after a few charge cycles. I find myself having to charge about an hour a night. The good thing is that it is a 2amp charger so it charges fast.

The S3 and the Note 2 should never ever be compared. They are totally different devices in almost every way possible. Not bashing you kintwofan, or anyone in particular, just saying these 2 devices should not even be in the same sentence.
It's more like DNA vs S3/4, or do I want a mini tablet with a Wacom pen.
Personally at this point I recommend you wait another month for the S4 reveal and see if that floats your boat OP. I would never recommend an S3 to someone, it's 2013. Especially not a US variant S3 which has horrible specs compared to most devices released in the last 6 months. So you want someone who owns a Note 2's opinion OP? Wait a month.

Im on Clean Rom, and since the phone is near perfect, hasnt really been a need for any of the devs to do any work.
I have both the Note 2 and S3 and prefer the S3 over the Note. Both phones are great, but I personally like the S3 better. The S3 is stock / rooted and the Note 2 is stock / unrooted which may have something to do w/ it. It seems there's more to do with the S3 as far as the Dev community, it's not too big and I have never had any issues with it. I've had the Note 2 for about 4 weeks now and sometimes it won't send a text message until I restart the phone.
what device are you coming from? myself, i am upgrading from a Note 2. i am keeping the Note 2 around though just to keep playing with Cyanogen and other Roms/kernels. how 'bout you?

I upgraded from an S3 to the LG G2... I couldn't get used to the rear buttons, and the Knock-On feature only worked half the time. Plus the UI was just whack. So I returned that a week ago (after I already sold my S3 dammit). Using an old school Droid X until the Note arrives lol.
I'm thinking of getting a new android phone' I'm stuck between the samsung note 3 and the lg g2, I'm down to which phone I can change the most..... I liked the old samsung devices I could play a lo with them, I need a phone that I can change the GUI and all the software, like play with all of it. Which one do you think would work better the g2 or note 3, if you have any more ideas tell me
If you dont care about screen size go and buy note 3

I've had a good experience with the LG G2. Its easily moddable, even though it has a locked bootloader (it can be bypassed and all custom ROM's do that). Its super fast and has a battery life that is crazy good.

Thanks guys, now add the s5 to the mix and who do you think wins?
Samsung has their Knox security that makes it a lot harder than strictly necessary to root.

I would also go for the Note 3, just my 2 cents.
Not anymore. $250.00 + 2 yr. Contract renewal for Note 5 which failed miserably to impress me. $300.00 + 2 yr contract for note 4 which I liked but not $300.00 liked.

I Did the upgrade to the Note 5, set it up.. then gave it to my wife. Its nice, but they removed too many features in my opinion.
Kinda dumb to have the Note 5 for $250 + a 2yr contract and a Note 4 for $300 + a 2yr contract. I understand sales and the importance of pushing new product off the shelves, but the Note 4 should be $250 and Note 5 $300. SMH Sprint

I might get the Note 4 maybe by the end of the year, but more than likely not. Haven't seen a big reason to upgrade. I like the Note 4 but the Note 5 needed an SD card slot to make it viable, imho.

I wanted to upgrade my note 3 to a note 5 as well... I think they my some bad decisions regarding the battery and sd card. Its making me look away from the note series, towards the LG V10, but i really love my notes.
If you go over to the note 5 thread, the guys are definitely upset. Burned out pixels on the display, overheating battery problems, displays failing completely. Some guy is on his third device in last two weeks. That's besides the fact no battery removal, no sdcard, can't be on a call and surf the net at the same time, and a 8 core processor (that's a battery saver REALLY sure I'll take what there smoking) !!!
