Decided to start a separate thread here dedicated to the Sony Smart Watch 2 as the other thread was getting mixed up with the SBH52.
Just read over at droid-life that the Sony Smart Watch 2 is now available for only ~$170usd from Mobile fun. Pretty good price considering earlier rumors were it was going to be ~$250+. I put in my order from Kogan for ~$175 but I think they were being dodgy and selling a pre-order without advertising it. Just got an email from Kogan today saying my order has been delayed for another 5 days . Thinking of cancelling and buy from Mobile Fun instead.

what deal on amazon was this which gave away free smartwatch?
Been using mine for about a week. I'm glad I didn't pay for it but as a freebie it's OK. Screen is quite poor quality (think late 90's colour screen phone). Emails don't display pictures & when viewing pictures through the slideshow app you only get a zoomed in view of the middle of the pic.
As I said. It's OK for free but I'd be annoyed if I paid £120-160 for it.

Not a super useful gadget...
Screen is disappointing indeed.
Battery is weaker than I would have thought, needs daily charge.
i like a smartwatch badly, sadly sony looks like bad option. i wish they would of stick with OLED instead of going with LCD ON A FREAKIN' watch
Screen choice was very smart imo, the "always on" nature of the time screen itself yet still with good battery life is great to have.
Yeah, you need to be able to actually see it outside, something AMOLED tends to have trouble with.
purchased the smartwatch 2 from mobilefun on tuesday and after "fraud" checks, i received an email on friday stating it was on backorder til the 23rd. this upset me as i paid for the expedited shipping, so i cancelled order and ordered it from newegg yesterday and it should be here on monday. lol
to sum it up, newegg > mobilefun.

I have to retract my statement, it started to work for me. i turned on the bluetooth on the sw2 and it was able to connect fine together with the sbh52. so all in all loving it

I was told it shipped , but it has not arrived yet ... I did just get an email
stating my SBH52 order is held up do to being sold out . This is upsetting
considering I pre-ordered it from there site & was given a ship date of OCT 2'nd
& now I'm being told I have to wait til the end of the month ...

Just a heads up that although this website is AsusUK, the sleeves are actually being delivered from Germany and although its says dispatched within 24 hrs it still takes several days for them to arrive.
I was thinking that for £6 UPS it should come next day. I need to read the small print more thoroughly in the future.
My order status says "In process" but when I phoned the customer service number they said it had been shipped but there are no tracking details. She said I should have it within 5 days. I would have thought the status should say shipped and I would have expected an email to tell me that too.
I have already cancelled one order from Asus Laptops after waiting 2 weeks and being fobbed off by them several times with ficticious dates.
I have now had an email from them saying it has been shipped and the order status has updated to shipped with a UPS tracking code so obviously it hadn't shipped at the point the lady said it had. Expected delivery is Thursday according to UPS website.
Yep, got my confirmation email earlier too and mine also says delivery for this Thursday!

Excellent, as i was going through checkout i paused and registered the device on vip.asus.com as itt registered a pop up with 10% off code appeared so used that for a few pounds off, top job
So what do you think of the sleeve. Mine arrived yesterday. It is OK but is not worth the price.
The one position stand is a pain since a lot of games like angry birds don't rotate so are upside down if you turn the pad upside down for the low stand position.
I will be keeping an eye out for a better one.

I wish we had things like that over here...
I use this as a Daily internet portal, listening to music on Spotify, ebook, sketch design concepts, taking notes for work. Anytime I travel, this Little tablet is the one thing I take with me on the plane. I don't really play that many games on it, some and it does a decent job for that. So I think these Specs will be fine as long as the Apps I use doesn't require a Quad-Core. Might gift another tablet to myself, but probably sell it to a co-worker who might need the all around awesomeness of HTC Flyer at cost.

Same here. It was $295 and I almost bought one but went to Best Buy to ***** at them in person for jerking me around. I come home about an hour later (found a friend camping outside Best Buy) and it was $199.49! I couldn't click buy fast enough. Thank you Best Buy but you still suck.
I also bought one from techforless. We will see what happens. They got good reviews on Google shopper.

I live in Colorado Springs and have purchased from Tech for less many times, to all that have doubts, I would say you have nothing to worry about and will receive a quality product for the price, the reason they did this is because they had over 800 yesterday and when they have a large amout of inventory they do what is called a fire sale and that is how they move a lot of merchandise in a very short period of time. I wish I would have seen the sale would have liked one myself, OH WELL I guess I just missed out. Congrats to all that got one you got a heck of a deal!!!

I want to know. Will all flyer roms work on this? I bought it to use as a wifi tablet. Its better then look tablet and kindlefire for $230 only! 32gb and you also have option for sd card! Maybe singlecore processor be problem but clocked at 1.5 I think it will do just fine.
So far, current flyer roms will not work on the View is the general answer.
Also, I've read on other sites (slickdeals) that some of these sites may take 1 or 2 weeks to ship. If you're cool with that then it's all good.
Bensoutlet just lowered the price to $219! I ordered it this morning for 239.. I emailed them to see if they would give a price adjustment since they lowered it just a couple hours after I bought it
Cool, It is now down to $219 on Bensoutlet.com. I just got mine today from the ebay deal. It got here in two days. I paid $240 and I am very happy. It is a nice tablet. My other tablet is the gtablet with bad viewing angles.

Yes. Have tons of stuff on Amazon (uploaded my entire music collection). Have lots of movies on Amazon as well. Have 50 gb of space on dropbox. However, wifi not always accessible, and would like to carry music, books and manga with me. Would also like to have some of my favorite videos stored as well.

Me too. I had ordered it when it was $239 and then just a few hours it dropped to $219. I emailed them and they said they are going to give me the $20 credit. So if you did jump on it and order from Ben's you might be able to get a $20 price adjustment credit. I'm not sure though if me ordering it just a few hours before they changed the price mattered or not but they did say they would issue me a credit for the difference

I imagine this is simply them implementing a pre-order system as opposed to being able to deliver any stock. Works for me though. With my hours as a chef chances are every time it came into stock i'd be unable to grab one

Haha, I had auto refresh on to notify me when it came in stock while I was watching tv! Ordered mine and came here to tell everybody but appears other people already got the word out
16gb ordered! Had been after the 32gb originally but i don't play any intensive games, as such large games, i have a computer for that, i have my music on my phone on a 32gb sd card, and anything i desperately need that won't fit on the thing i can keep on an sd card with OTG cable This is mainly just a machine for at home and occasionally on the coach or in the tent etc, so seemed daft to spend an extra £70 for a measly increase in memory.
I will in UK 2more weeks. Do you think google will ship it sooner than 2weeks?
saw somewhere on the www the delivery time in the US is 3-5 business days...it'll be nice to have my hands on it sooner but it doesn't matter as long as i know mines on order.
I hope there are still some left in the morning when the guy who orders stuff at work gets my email.

The number of refreshes, and in the end having to use internet explorer intsead of chrome, just to place the order, let alone the 2-3 week shipping time, google are not filling me with hope, I really would have expected better from one of the bigger companies in the world.

How do you check? I had a look on Google Wallet under transactions and it says nothing about 2-3 weeks, pending etc... The only thing i can see is
Delivery (Two Day): £9.99
Which i assume is the charge only.
Just ordered mine this morning and everything went through OK
I suspect the 2-3 weeks is just Google covering their backsides and expect some will be delivered earlier.

Curiously it say when ordering that the money will not be taken from my account untill the Nexus is ready to ship yet the money has gone from my account within minutes of ordering

I wouldn't risk it unless you can get somebody to forward it to you that you know.
Has google some helpdesk email where i can write to confirm if it is in stock?

i had the same thing, called them this morning and the adviser said that the money was only in the 'authorization' and wont be debited from the a/c till after it is shipped. but bottom line is that part of my credit limit is not available to me anymore so they might as well have taken it.

I opened this topic because officially Sony has not given yet a release date for the aforementioned products.
I live in Italy, which is basically the third world for anything remotely technological, and I gave up asking various clerks for the Xperia Z Ultra (launch was due mid September worldwide, here nobody knows nothing about it), let alone asking for accessories.
It might be the same as asking for a microprocessor at a grocery store.
So I sent Sony an email, I tweeted them, but no response whatsoever.
I scoured the net for dates, and as of now only Clove in the UK seems to have a date (September 13), but even that's not sure 100%.
All I want to know is, as a friend of mine is going to NY on September 17th, if I could tell him for sure to bring me back a SBH-52 and a SmartWatch 2,and possibly how much would he pay them, and maybe where to search for them.
I know I'm asking a lot here, but maybe there are some New Yorkers here that could give me an advice...
My friend is not as tech savvy as us, so I don't want him to run around in circles to search for a unicorn that will be on sale next month...
I only saw price for the sbh52 on UK webstores, they talk about 64£ with VAT for mid September. Couldn't find any US website, or maybe didn't look so well. So with today rate exchange it would be about $100. Didn't look for the smart watch 2.

The SBH-52 is priced in Germany at 64€ ~ 85USD, and the SmartWatch 2 at 179€ ~ 235USD.
But usually the devices here get the same value in USD then in Euro, due to VAT, customs and generally higher price level.
So if it will be tagged at 149$ (just as an example!) or whatever, we get the same in Euro.
Both are not set up with a release date yet. But for me its quite evident/presumable, that they will be avail together with the XZU Europe/US release as both were hardly advertised with.
I know, if I had to guess I'd say 199 USD for the SmartWatch 2, and around 70 for the SBH-52.
So it sums up to 270 USD, a little more than 200 euros.
If they make it available from September 17th or before it will save me 70 euros, not bad uh?
If they throw the SmartWatch 2 at 149 USD I'll be more than pleased...
P. S. Does anybody know how much costed the last SmartWatch at launch?
If i remember right it was a SRP of 129€
Smart Watch 2 is selling for about £60 on eBay here in the UK
What they're offering there as SM2 is not the real 2nd version - it is actually the first.
So the price is not a decision-making basis.

I have been looking around as well for price availability and release date. For a week or so Sonymobile.com/gb had a price for the SBH52 as £79.00 with coming soon with a Buy now option which didn't work. They have a corrected it now and it just says coming soon.
As you might know clove.co.uk is selling it for £64.99, while amazon.co.uk seems to be out of stock and will dispatch as sson as they receive them. Amazon is selling it for £56.03..I have placed an order and just Waiting
I have read most probably this is coming out at the end of September. Well we will see.

Can I ask you if it rings? Or does it have a vibracall?
Can you see whatsapp notification? Or only SMS?

Not yet, but I might get one soon.
The watch vibrates and lights up like the old one, but the vibrate is MUCH more powerful.
I haven't had time to play so far, but Watchit! allows you to receive the notifications from apps you select
