So i could probably use a hand.... - LG Optimus L9 P760, P765, P768, P769

T-Mobile L769 - was rooted with LGPwn.apk
Followed this guide (I thought to a "T") but apparently I screwed up somewheres.
I believe I'm currently what you would call soft bricked. When i attempt to boot the phone i get the LG logo with "Security Error" just below it now.
will this guide help me unbrick my phone or am I now officially up $h!t creek?
if it helps the current KDZ was V20D and it was attempting to update to V20F but the update kept failing because we removed bloatware and then 10 minutes later saw a post informing us that that would stop OTA updates.
so you know.....a little help??

This happened to me. I flashed a recovery.img from a stock 20F using this fastboot command.....

how did you go about obtaining and then flashing the recovery.img? i have several KDZ's (20F, 20H, 20B and 20D) do i extract the .img from them somehow?
right now i can only get my phone to start up ind s/w upgrade?

If you already have fastboot for the L9, just turn off the phone, take out the battery, run start in admin mode, choose option 1, plug in the phone when it requests, and wait 4 seconds.....insert the battery and run those commands.

hangs up at <waiting for device> and then reboots to security error screen

When you connect, make sure to have device manager open and see if the OMAP drivers are installed. If so, you should get the inverted white LG logo. At that point, you need to run the commands.

Okay. Here's another way to install the stock recovery thanks to rarsenaux post in August........
Open LG Mobile Update (Make sure you have internet on)
Input MEID (located behind battery)
Connect phone to computer via USB in S/W upgrade mode (Vol+ then insert USB)
Let LG download and install phone recovery
NOTE: Recovery stopped at 4% install, but just leave it alone, and it will install correctly. It never went past 4%
NOTE: This will return your phone to factory settings like the day you got it, so you will have to re-root if you use this method.
Sent from my LG-P769 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app

This worked but I didn't have to enter in the MEID.
I plugged the phone in.
Installed the driver while it went through a couple checks to see if the phone was connected.
While it was doing that i re-installed the drivers (actually did this part 2 or 3 times)
It finally recognized that the phone was connected and told me some type of software was up to date.
I opened up the drop down at the top of the screen and hit "Update Recovery" and let it do it's thing.
I can now turn the phone on without receiving the "Security Error" but my screens all wonky.
I've run LGPwn.apk and then reinstalled L9 Recovery but i can't boot into recovery to flash the tsfix. I have the option to boot to recovery when i open the recovery tool but the phone itself won't boot into recovery.

[Q] BRICKED after unlocking bootloader

So i finally unlocked my bootloader on my p769. After i unlocked it i went to recovery and restored my backup to a 20F T-mobile P769 rom (yes i know this was stupid, I should have installed recovery via fastboot while I had it open). My touch screen is borked and I have no recovery set up.
Things I've tried:
To turn on USB debugging, the backup i restored does not have a homescreen so I cannot access the settings to turn it on.
The KDZ offline flash method, but it always stops at 15% even though i've uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers countless times.
"Upgrade recovery" via the LG software tool. It gets to the part where it downloads the file and even after 2 hours it doesn't download. My hosts file did not have LGs IP when i tried this.
Is there something I'm doing wrong? Is there a button combination to force my phone to go to fastboot mode? Or can i got from s/w upgrade mode to fastboot mode? This is really frustrating.
Alright so i managed to turn USB debugging on, but i have no root or recovery. Is there anything I can do from here?
EDIT: managed to get root and installed busybox the correct busybox. i can't seem to get the recovery to install though (im using the l9 recovery installer APK. It says the recovery is installed but it won't reboot into recovery and the LEDs dont flash when i power on the phone). My phones touchscreen is still borked.
That LG software tool never worked for me and I never used it. Find a kdz uploaded and keep the phone on. No sw mode. Even if your bootloader is unlocked you still have to install a ROM that is made for your phone. Just go to backup/restore then restore from sd and pick your backup. Good luck!

P769 with v20f getting security error

Hi,
I had my P769(T-mobile) running v20f for a while, everything was fine till I tried to unlock the bootloader yesterday......
I followed the http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2370835, but was not aware that the bootloader unlock was unsuccessful before I used fastboot to install the cwm recovery. Then.....I got the security error when I tried to reboot the phone.
Now fastboot can connect to the phone and reflash x-loader and uboot with no problem, but I cannot get my phone into s/w upgrade mode no matter what key-combination I try...... of course the LG update tool would connect to the phone neither.....
Anyone could help me fix it? Thanks!

[Q] PC doesn't recognize phone in fastboot

Hey
so my computer, running Win7Pro x64, is not recognizing my phone (HTC DNA verizon) in fastboot mode. it can see it in ADB both in android and recovery.
i'm trying to either follow moonshine or rumrunner to get my phone to go into s-off so that i'll be able to install the ROM i want.
little back story -
my daughter (11 months) was playing with a baby app and got into the phone settings and somehow made it so the notification bar was gone (though the settings still said it should be there) and also made it so the UI kept crashing. i tried reinstalling my ROM didn't correct it so i reset bask to factory. it got it back up and working
at this point i noticed there is an update for my ROM and so i went to install it and it got stuck at the boot screen. so i followed some tips from a guy in the ROM thread and sideloaded stock so i can attempt to go s-off. this is where i am now.
i'm not sure why fastboot is not working correctly. anyone have any ideas?

Windows 8.1 broke the fastboot drivers. AFAIK there is no workaround or fix. Use another computer.
Update... you can go back to windows 8.0 by going to >settings >change pc settings, then I think it's the middle option to restart system and saves your files. This got me back to windows 8.0 and now my fastboot drivers work again.

[Q] Stuck in bootloop

I am running the Cyanogenmod 11 Nightly from the 11th, and also running crpalmers kernel 5.4.2. I had ART turned on, and was running Gravitybox Xposed Modules. While I was using the phone, while on the charger, it randomly rebooted, and showed the splash screen. The phone was just about dead when it was being used on the charger. While on the charger, the phone repeatedly shows the splash screen, followed by a black screen, and then a vibration like it had just been powered on, and shows the splash screen. This cycles while plugged into the computer. When first plugged into the computer, the computer (Windows 7) makes noises like it is connected and then removed. The phone is not recognized in fastboot or adb. I was able to access the bootloader menu by holding the power and volume down keys. Usually I can not navigate through it by using the volume keys, and it reverts back to the bootloop within 30 seconds. I don't know what is causing this problem, so I tried to give as much info as possible. Any help is appreciated. Thank you in advance.
Hope someone can get you sorted out. Never experienced that particular issue.

I was able to stop the bootloop somehow. Must have been a combination of attempting to charge it all day and the constant attempts to reboot into recovery. Now I'm in recovery, and there is no partitions. I am unable to factory reset or format data of any kind. I had pushed a ROM to the device in the recovery. I was unable to flash this rom, or the stock splash screen.

WiFi stuck at "Turning On"

Today my DNA said the Wi-Fi was "turning on" and it just hangs there. It never actually turns on or connects to a wireless network. I have tried rebooting the phone, shutdown, using airplane mode, etc. Even did a factory reset and it's still doing the same thing.
I tried "WiFi fixer" from the Play Store, that didn't help either.
Phone has always been stock, no root.
Any suggestions?
Turn off fastboot and reboot. Then see if it works. If not only option might be to restore to factory settings.

The ruu won't root or put a custom rom on your phone. The ruu will erase your phone completely and put it back to the way it came out of the box on the stock rom. In your case it will be the newest update that's the ruu I suggest using. It's very easy to do just follow the instructions on the computer screen. Hopefully it can fix the issue if it doesn't it probably hardware related and if that's the case and your within your one year warranty try and get a replacement. But we can cross that bridge when we get there. For now get the newest ruu which is 3.0.6 I believe from here.
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B32gqnbh2ZecYTlvV1dlZTVRS0E/preview?pli=1
That is the direct download link. The ruu needs to be run on a Windows computer I recommend Windows 7 and have the phones drivers installed for it to work properly.

Hey guys, after flashing the firmware and the RUU twice using the link provided the Wi Fi is working but it's still acting a little funky here and there. Earlier this morning, the phone rebooted when I tried to turn on Wi Fi. After it booted up, I was able to turn Wi Fi on/off several times and it worked perfectly.
Any chance that putting cyanogenmod or something on there would fix these intermittent glitches?
What would I do for a bootloader and root?
Newbie here, did some reading last night but there's so much.
If you look in the original development thread you will find it. Go to the website download the one for the DNA and then follow the guide. Once you achieve soff you need to flash a custom recovery. I recommend the twrp 2.6 beta it seems to work when flashing all the kit Kat roms I haven't tried 2.7 yet but if your feeling adventurous you can try that to. To flash a recovery you need to put your phone in fastboot and then use the command fastboot flash recovery and then you have your recovery on your phone. Then you can flash what you want. If you want to do this and need any help direct message me and I can help you out.

I am trying to flash to the Sense 5 RUU to see if it corrects my Wi Fi issues but it's stuck at the following:
(bootloader) Read zipped android_info fail
What should I do?

OK, I decided to take a chance and reboot the device. I'm back in fastboot mode so I'll try the RUU again.
