Messaging Problems Galaxy S4 google play edition rom - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I have been having problems sending messages via the android stock messaging app. I can send short ones, but longer ones are not being split by the program and sent out appropriately. I am on the sprint network with a rooted galaxy s4 using the Google play edition rom found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2345386
I have tried using a 3rd party app, and it still does not send. Anyone have any similar issues?
I tried searching the issue but did not have much luck.
Thanks

[Q] JB Google MMS not threading

I'm currently using the Omega 26.1 build and love it.
The only thing is I hate the Samsung text/MMS app and wanted to replace it with the standard Google app now that Indie has released the JBKitchen app.
When I remove then replace the Samsung app texts from contacts aren't threading. My replies show in the individual messages but the replies from the contact come through as a new thread. If I switch back to the Samsung app they are all threaded as you would expect. This issue didn't happen when I was using the ICS rom as I could replace the app fine.
I've tried searching for this problem and although similar issues come up a fix doesn't seem to be evident.
Does anyone know about this issue and how to fix it?

[Q] Compose a new SMS very slow?

Has anyone had a problem with composing a new SMS and when you start to type the contacts name it take a much longer time for the list to come up then when they first got the phone?
It's always been slow for me.
I usually find typing faster will make the characters display faster - Maybe try a 3rd party messaging app from the playstore
are you using stock sense messaging app? if yes, its not that awesome. get a third party sms app from the market--i personally use jellybean messaging. it gives you stock jellybean for your messaging. only kink is that mms is broken in the latest update, but using the one before that will work.
I had this problem before on UKB Rom. After installing Virtuous ROM this issue was fixed, and now contacts search is really fast as it should be. I think it is a problem of Verizon SMS app.

Emojis for Evo

All the emojis sent to me show up as question marks. I can see them on twitter. I have tried a couple of different methods. Can someone help me get them to show up? I'm running stock, rooted.
Try go sms

Do you have your phone connected to Google Voice? If so, that would be why it shows up as question marks in the Messaging app after you send/receive messages.
CM supports emoji out of the box, just flash cm 10.1 or any other rom cm based and it should be in the messaging settings, you can even use softbank encoding...
Tried go sms, and I tried both of those. I am going to try disabling google voice. Disabling google voice did not work either. I'm running meanbean now.

[Q] Strange Issue with SMS app in most ROMs

So I have been playing around loading different ROMs on my razr and I am seeing the same issue with the messaging app within the ROMs. I am currently running Liquid v2.8 and I am seeing the same issue. The issue is I have a group of friends that we have a group MMS that we all respond to. There is a mix of droid phones and iphones in the group. There are two guys that when they send their messages I receive them in their separate thread. Meaning that their message is not added to the group thread.Everyone else receives their message correctly as did I when I was running the stock ROM. The strange issue is that these two guys are using a stock Galaxy S3 running on Verizon. They are the only two using these phones and the only two causing an issue on my end.
Has anyone seen this before or have any ideas on where I should look to resolve the issue? I have searched but have not found anything. I can resolve the issue by installing the verizon messenger from the play store but of course I would rather use the messenger in the ROM that has more options.

Problems with new downloaded messaging app (Textra).

I got a new Galaxy S6 Edge a couple of days ago. Been installing various apps and decided to try one called Textra. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to work with this phone. I cant send regular text or MMS messages with it. Only messaging app that comes bundled with the phone will allow me to send mesages of any kind. Has anyone else experienced this and if so were you able to fix it?
