Hi all,
I'm looking for a reasonable, cheap 'smart' tough phone and I need to have the Microsoft Exchange email function on the handset.
Does anybody know if the S5690 Galaxy Xcover will have this feature?
It is built into Android right? The S5690 Galaxy Xcover is running 2.3 Ginger Bread.
Thanks,
T-L-H
yes, the Xcover does support Exchange ActiveSync. I have mine working with a university account.
One thing to consider: The S5690 is considerably slow, compared to modern smartphones. It still does its service for me after 1.5 years, but you may want to consider buying the Xcover 2 which has faster hardware, a front camera and Android 4.0+. If you can live without that, the Xcover is still a great rugged phone.

samsung has announced the Galaxy Ace Plus, which slots in just above its predecessor in the Galaxy range, adding a better processor and larger screen.
The device was announced by the Korean company on Tuesday and will ship to customers in Russia first, beginning in January, and will then be "gradually rolled out" to Europe, Latin America, Asia, China and other regions, Samsung said.
"In 2012, we will continue to make every effort to create an easy and fun mobile experience by expanding our incredibly popular GALAXY smartphone range, which is now one of the most recognized and successful mobile brands in the world," JK Shin, president of IT & mobile at Samsung, said in a statement.
The Galaxy Ace Plus will join more expensive and higher specified devices in the Galaxy range, such as the Galaxy S, S II, Ace and Mini.
The Ace Plus features an upgraded processor — up to 1GHz from 800MHz in the Ace — 5-megapixel camera, 3.65-inch display and 3GB of onboard storage. It also offers smartphone staples including Wi-Fi, HSPDA connectivity and pre-loaded social networking features via Samsung's Social Hub and ChatON services.
Like some other lower-end Android devices such as the Wildfire S, the handset will arrive running the Gingerbread — Android 2.3 — operating system with Samsung's proprietary TouchWiz UI atop. However, higher-end devices are now available to buy that use the newer Ice Cream Sandwich (4.0) version of Android.
The device will also have to fend off competition from Chinese manufacturers like ZTE and Huawei, which want to increase their consumer recognition and smartphone market share in the European market using devices running the Android OS.
Pricing for the Galaxy Ace Plus has not yet been disclosed.

There doesn't seem to be a specific section for Ace Plus on XDA-Developers....
Do ROMs and stuff from the Galaxy Ace work on Galaxy Ace plus?
Or there is specific related stuff to this?

Hi guys, what tablet could I exchange for my Galaxy S2? I've been using it for 6 months, then I thought about moving to the tablet. What tablet is in performance/price range with S2 (both iOS and Android)? I got my trustworthy Nokia X2 back
Get quad core androids
Look for size and options you desire.
Nexus 7 is good deal.
Hello
I was a happy owner of Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and I sold it yesterday but it was too big for my palm
Now I would like to buy a new phone and I cannot decide which one.
I am between Galaxy S5 and Nexus 6 and I cannot make up my mind.
To be honest I'm tired of Samsung Phones, I started with Samsung Galaxy S GT9000, then S2 then Galaxy Core then Galaxy Grand, Galaxy Note 2, Galaxy Note 3 and I'm really tired of Samsung and I hate Knox which voids your warranty if you install a custom rom or you modify your system and the Samsung Bloatware
However the phones were masterpieces in terms of performance and the support of custom roms was magnificent and S5 would be at least that good.
I'm really excited with Nexus 6 because Nexus devices are known for their Clean Android experience, the instant updates and Nexus 6 will be a high end experience.
I would like your suggestions and help me decide which phone should I buy.
Also please, if you have any other phone to recommend, please do so, I would like to check it out
200% you can go for nexus6 ....
Samsung never gives update at proper time like nexus devices
For every android version Samsung plan new device and for pushing new device they delays updates for old one
But nexus is not like that within some days you will get update when gogle release new firmware
Custom ROM support for nexus devices is great compared to that of Samsung devices .....only thing that nexus devices will not have some advanced touch wiz features like note series has .....

I had a Samsung Galaxy S2 and Note 2 and I have the Nexus 5 since November, 2013.
I recommend you the Nexus 6 as your next device. Why? Because the price-quality ratio is awesome, no bloatwares, no Knox, the latest Android versions, the best UX I have ever seen and a wonderful XDA community
I want to purchase a used Samsung Galaxy phone with 240x320 resolution (link to gsmarena search page) as a tribute to my long-lost first smartphone Galaxy Mini.
So far, based on the number of active developments in xda, the choice is between Galaxy Star and Galaxy Pocket Neo S5312. The latter has lower clock speed but I understand that it can be overclocked, while Galaxy Star lacks 3G.
How do you guys manage without it? I'm not planning to use it as daily driver ofc, but I'd like to bring it outside sometimes and do some light browsing, and not having 3G is a serious compromise.
Yet Galaxy Star seems much more popular than Pocket Neo here in xda, so I really wonder why. I'd very prefer to buy the Trios S5283, but it is not popular for devs nor is widely available. Why is Galaxy Star more popular? Which device you favor more?

Hello, everyone. The new Samsung s22 Plus has been released. What do you think of his exynos 2200 chip? Some people say it's not that good. Should I switch to iPhone 13 Pro with a 15 bionic chip. I live in Europe and I've always used Samsung's S series, but Samsung hasn't performed so well lately. What do you think between these two phones.
