It keeps installing MTK USB Port instead of VCOM - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys,
I am using windows 8 x64, disabled signature blablabla, when I try to manually install the vcom driver, and select the vcom folder, it keeps recognizing my phone on a MTK USB Port.... and not as Preloader vcom port.
Any solutions? I am having huge problem, I can't flash my phone on the MTK USB Port, it always gives me DRAM Failed.

Well, managed to get it shown up as a preloader port, still getting dram failed...

How were you able to show up as a preloader port? I seem to have bricked my phone totally. I have a cubot gt72 - and it just shows up as an MTK USB Port (COM3).
Thanks in advance.

No one has any thoughts on or a solution for this problem? What are the possible explanations for this. I have the same issue and I need to resolve it in order to flash my device.

Is there a solution about this problem? please share to us

MT6577 preloader recovery

Hi
I flashed the phone with invalid firmware using SP_Flash_Tool.
Now SP_Flash_Tool and Windows doesn't see the MT65xx Preloader USB device after disconnecting/reconnecting the battery.
The phone doesn't switch on.
Is possible to recover a preloader on MTK6577 (Zopo ZP 900) using the flex cables or other methods?
Thank you

MTK6577 Tablet
Hey guys .. any solution ?
Lenovo A2107A-H, Dual SIM dead after SP-Flash
I stand in a row with you all, I also have killed my tablet with SP-Flash, It appears as Alcatel Single RNDIS Interface in Win7 control panel's network adaptors and in Win8.1 as "unknown device". I already uninstalled the drivers, the Win7 needed to reboot after that, but re-installed the same sh** after reconnecting. I have heard about another tool, not SP-Flash, which shall be able to "find" the tablet on the USB bus, but I don't remember the name.

I un-bricked my Lenovo P770 yesterday!
How to do this:
1) Download and install "MT6577 USB VCOM drivers" -drivers for your phone
2) Open Device manager in your computer. Then "View" and "Show hidden devices" (do not close Device manager)
3) connect your phone to PC by USB cable (without battery, some phone with battery)
4) In device manager, in Network adapter (in my situation, after few second) shows "Alcatel single rndis interface #. . ." - it can appears and disappears!
5) When "Alcatel single rndis interface #. . ." appears click on this device Update drivers->Browse my computer...->Let me pick.. and here you should see "Mt65xx Preloader" if not you should find your driver.
6) When you update this driver you could use Flashtool v3->loading scatter file (you can find your android on needrom website. for example: P770_ROW_S110_130204_707WOW) -> check only PRELOADER and click Download
then connect your phone again to USB (without or with battery) and wait some seconds.
GoodLuck!!!
You can control on needrom website

Star x26i bricked? SPmultiPortFlashDownloadProject

Hello
Last week I became my Star x26i. Its quite a very good phone, but because of WiFi and Battery issues i tried to update it to a newer version, like in this tutorial :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1680338
So I used a program, calles SPmultiPortFlashDownloadProject
Everything went fine, but after the program erased the emmc Windows tried to install a new driver and failed. The program stopped and now the phone cant boot anymore (understandable with an formatted eemc...) The Pc detects the phone anyway, first as an unknown device and after installing a new chipset driver as "MediaTek DA USB VCOM Port (COM6)" If I try to reflash with the same program it gives me following issue like on this picture: http://imageshack.us/f/856/erroroly.png/ (Error: No Bootrom USB Port was found! COM6 is not a Bootrom (preloader) USB Port. Auto polling Number0.
Are there any Chances to rescue this device or is it totally bricked? Thanks in advance...

Problems using SP Flash Tool (Driver Related Problems - Please Help)

The thing is, I am having trouble flashing the Stock ROM to my Lenovo A1000G as it has been dead and it doesn't turn on anymore.
I have installed MTK / MediaTEK drivers (After reading multiple threads and guides over the internet) and I have installed these 3 specifically -
1) MediaTek DA USB VCOM Port
2) MediaTek PreLoader USB VCOM Port
3) MTK USB Port
But the thing is whenever I try to plugin the device to the Computer pressing the Vol (-) button - it shows up in the Ports section as MediaTek DA USB VCOM (Android). Now since it is appearing like that, I cannot flash or do anything in general. Because the device is getting detected by the PC but the one that shows up in the port is showing up as the wrong one. It should have showed up as MediaTek PreLoader USB VCOM Port but it isn't happening like that. I have tried so many variations to install drivers / uninstall it. It just doesn't work.
Can someone please help, since I don't have much knowledge. I do have the Stock ROM ready and the device is probably hard bricked, so can't install drivers using the Pdanet method. So what can I do?
No help? Please someone. Bump

SP flash tool doing nothing on MTK8163

Some ideas to try to solve it
Hi,
First all, about the drivers, clean all your mediatek stuff drivers, with usbdeview and with DriverStore Explorer [RAPR]. There may be interference with previous versions of mediatek driver packages.
Second, install the mediatek signed drivers by Microsoft, you can get it, for your Windows version searching "Mediatek Preloader" in the "Microsoft Update Catalog".
Third, install at least the following drivers:
MediaTek DA USB VCOM (Android)
MediaTek PreLoader USB VCOM (Android)
MediaTek USB Port
MediaTek USB VCOM (Android)Then try the most recent SP Flash Tool version.
If issues persist, maybe your tablet is bricked. SP Flash Tool is a dangerous tool, it is easy to inadvertently write the preloader, and this is a brick.
So, you have to find a "test point" to put the device in META mode, and if you have a preloader copy, be able to flash it. You have to flash the preloader provided by the manufacturer, no other preloader will work.
"Test Points" are device specific, and usually require phisically open the device, but also, may be a "test point" in the USB connector. So, before opening it, try connecting the device with an OTG cable and a male-male usb cable to the computer and try again. This worked for me, in a similar tablet, also with MTK8163.
I hope this helps.
