Hi guys,
So i have this lg optimus G phone, when making a normal phone call you cant hear anything, even the other person on the call cant hear you..
even when you use headset same problem.
But if you use skype everything is fine, u can have a normal conversation.
i have been sending this phone to LG for warranty repairs atleast 3 times and it comes back with same problem..
when i tell them obviously you guys cant fix it and you should issue me new phone they say its our technicians who decide and nothing we can do. They have replaced speakers and receiver 3 times already( which are fine cuz i have been using them in skype)..
so i agreed to send the phone back for the Fourth time yesterday.. But i know its gonna come back with same problem..
What i am asking you guys is is there any other number where i can call and complain other than
1-800-243-0000, because this number is useless they keep telling me send the phone back
Thanks

Hello
Since (quite) a few weeks i am having this issue with the P500: frequently (not every time but apparently more and more often), the voice calls are terminated after 1-2 minutes. The call ends as if the user is hanging up.
The fw is the last official gingerbread (V20g).
I did a reset to factory defaults but problem is still present.
Anyone else having this issue ?
Can it by SW issue or should simply take it for service ?
thanks
Check with service provider once xD

I have another phone working just fine, same carrier. I‘m also using the same SIM to also exclude this possibility. No problem so far.
So i‘s most likely not the signal, not the carrier and not the SIM card.

Not sure if this is the right place for this question, but I'll ask it anyways with a little background first:
About 3 weeks ago the wifi radio died in my Atrix that I've had for about 9 months. I call AT&T Warranty and they determine that I can get a replacement. I go to the local service center, first receive a phone that the speakerphone is broken on, then get a replacement which I notice three days later has a screen issue that looks like burn-in.
During having this phone I had issues where the notifications stop making sound for texts and emails (regardless of which program) and only vibrates. So, I call back into warranty and have them send me a new phone for the screen issue thinking that the notification thing is part of the fact it was a bad replacement. So I get the new phone a few days ago and am experiencing the same issue with notifications regardless of if they are stored on the internal SD or the default notifications. I tried calling in to tech support, who knew nothing about the issue who then transferred me to Motorola, who knew nothing about the issue.
I call back to warranty support and explain that I run a business and this phone is no longer usable in its current state and refuse to accept another replacement due to the fact it's happened on both of the replacement phones they've sent me. So here's the question:
[Q] In recent years, has anyone successfully gotten AT&T to replace a phone with a different model phone through warranty support?
Because I've been with AT&T for 8 years now and remember having a phone replaced with a different model after having 4 replacements go bad over the course of a month, but even after talking to her supervisor the warranty rep could not replace the phone with anything but an Atrix 4G.
This is effing infuriating.
You could try writing a letter or email to moto. They appreciate the feedback and might send u an atrix2 if ur lucky

My mom was able to do that. Even got a replacement from wp7 to android. Att rule is 3 replacements under warranty, you can get a different model. Not sure if its your choice or theirs however. She raised hell. I suggest you do the same. Good luck.
Well, AT&T will not replace it with something different, but they did make good with me by giving me a large credit on my account. I'm guessing this was done to make it easier for me to use one of the upgrade paths they gave me.
I emailed Motorola and they want me to send my phone in for diag work, which I can't do as I have no backup phone, so I have sent a suggestion to them on how to test for the issue so I'll see what they say.
Thank you for the suggestions!

My son has had replacements, (being a teenager this has been somewhat frequent), which have been a different make and model. They have only done this when the phone he had was no longer available, and they would send a "like" phone with the same features. We have never requested a different replacement however, so I do not know what the answer would be there.

Someone posted in the last week they got a warranty replacement and were given an Atrix 2 by AT&T, so they may very well be out of the original Atrix at their warehouses.
I may go ahead and try warranty through Motorola now... the only phone I want from AT&T at the moment is the Galaxy Note and it's a bit too high priced for me to take the upgrade option (I max out at $200!). I purchased a Sony Xperia Play on craigslist to replace it for the moment and will probably sell the Atrix if Motorola doesn't send me an Atrix 2. I find it funny that Motorola wanted me to send my phone in, which would leave me without a phone for at least 5 days... Thank you for the replies, everyone!
Hello,
I had several problems with my HTC Amaze phone; freezes and the screen become unresponsive, works by itself (open apps, close them and zoom in/out on webpages without touching it) or suddenly resets.
I already sent the phone 3-4times for repair, I even had a video to prove my problem.
The problem is that even this latest repaired phone has same problems.
What can/should I do with HTC in order to fix my problem ? get a different model maybe (which they refused to do) ? as it looks they are unable and they are not willing to repair the issue.
BTW, I m from Canada.
Thnx
I don't know how the laws are in Canada, but in the U.S., after an electronic has the same issue 3 - 4 times, we call it a lemon. The company must replace it with a new device or a device with an equal or lower value. You can research about your lemon laws in Canada.
Thx,
I know all stores such as Best Buy do it for extended warranty, but I am not sure about manufacturer!
Cause when I called HTC today the CSR told me I have to keep sending it for repair until I get a good working phone, which is completely unacceptable.
That's why I said research about Canada's lemon laws. You can use it against them.

If you send the device for repair and it comes back with the same issue, how was it repaired exactly?

Does this happen with all stock applications? Nothing downloaded. No modifications. Is there a screen protector? Things of that nature should he eliminated first and tested again.

I looked for Canada's lemon law, apparently it applies only to vehicle
I called my carrier, htc and PCD (their warranty authorized service provider), when I asked why I send my phone for repair and I still have problems, the csr told in Canada we just swap phones and they never repair them lol
basically, they swapped my phone with someone else. This is ridiculous!
I asked to talk with manager, I am waiting him/her to call me back ...
@Double0EK: Yes, after 2nd repair I got the screen ghosting on day 1. I don't have screen protector.
Use this. It may help you.

Okay. So about a week ago, I got my GTS7500. On the first day, I successfully rooted it. The next day, I broke it in a incredibly careless way using the command line: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1744909
It is now completely unresponsive. Don't question me on that. I know.
I emailed Samsung with a fabricated story, trying to sort out a repair/replacement... 3 days later, nothing.
So after giving up with the email system, I finally phoned customer support yesterday.
I described everything that had happened (a version in which my phone just dies unexpectedly with no wrongdoing from myself...), and I was sent an email with all the information I need to send it to a repair centre.
So, it's all packed and ready to be sent to Norwich Samsung Repair Centre.
...I am quite anxious though.
I asked if I'd be getting a replacement, and I was told I would be getting the phone I sent but repaired. Well... if they DO repair the phone, they'll see that I've tampered with it.
Unlike what I thought, I won't be getting a replacement... but what if they can't repair it?
I'm nervous I'm going to get an email or a phone call from someone at the repair centre with bad news... or confronting me on my heinous crime.
Also, if they find something, they'll likely remember my phone and my details and have it blacklisted from being repaired in any repair centre.
To add to my worries, I finally got a reply from my email:
Unfortunately we are unable to replace your mobile phone as your warranty in accordance with your statutory rights within the first 28 days lies with your retailer, after this time has elapsed your warranty is a repair only, therefore if the retailer are refusing to exchange the unit for you, all that we can offer you is a repair.

More and more seems like they won't be sending back a new shiny phone... which is a shame.
The virgin mobile branding really pisses me off.
Also, I have written a description of what happened to my phone which I must send with the phone to the repair centre. At the end of it I've added:
If it does turn out to be completely unrecoverable like I expect, I ask that you refurbish me with an unlocked phone. Unfortunately, the seller I bought this phone from claimed it was not locked to a provider, but it turned out to be locked with Virgin Mobile. In the time the phone was working, I had not yet changed providers/sims.
This would be much appreciated to save me the hassle of doing this.

Is this a good idea? Will it do any good/harm? Given that it seems quite unlikely I will be receiving a new phone, should I ask them for an unlocked phone?
I'm not sure if it perhaps looks a little suspicious...
Should I even send it off??? If I go in person will it increase my chances? Could i walk away with a repaired/new phone in the same visit?
Please give me some answers quickly. If I'm sending it off I want to do it later today.
Many thanks.

Please, I need some advice. If I send my phone later today and then find out on this thread that it was a bad idea, that's gonna really piss me off.
ask for a unlocked one

It's always fuzzy to have carrier locked phones they end up with problems more often.... And dude before flashing a firmware ask someone of your carrier to see if it works or not.... Preventing is better than cure
So I've now sent it back.
But there was a slight problem, or seemingly so.
In the email, it said this:
You can send the handset off for repair by using one of the below address options:
‘FREEPOST SAMANREP’ (This is a freepost option)
(On the front of the envelope)’
OR
‘A NOVO COMMUNICATION HOUSE (This is a standard delivery option and will be chargeable)
SAMSUNG
VULCAN ROAD NORTH
NORWICH
NR6 6AQ’

So, I did the above option, I just put FREEPOST SAMANREP on the envelope. This seemed strange to me at the time. When I took it to the post office, the lady behind the window looked at it and gave me a puzzled/concerned look, and I explained to her the reason behind it.
I sent it anyway.
Won't be too surprised though if it's sent to the return address in a couple days...
What's weirder is googling FREEPOST SAMANREP returns absolutely zero results. Try it yourself if you don't believe me.
What do you think? Weird?
Also, I'd like some reassurance about my return. I'm quite anxious that I'm gonna get in trouble.
I've just done the same thing - sent my phone back to "FREEEPOST SAMANREP" for repair, as instructed by Samsung and printed on their address label. I got alot of resistance from staff at the Post Office, who were convinced that it wasn't a valid address.
Was there a happy ending to your story?
Just wanted to share my ****ty experience with Sony support so thought of making a thread where all can share there's.
Apologize if its made by someone somewhere
So here's mine
1 month back send mail to Sony support when there was problem with signal drop and camera blue spot and I am still receiving mails for them saying to visit service center. Receive 3 mails from them saying same. They really suck. Though the problem was solved here on xda.
And if visit service center the technician sucks at knowledge and way of taking
Btw. Talking about Indian support
Where are you from :-/ !!

After calling Sony several times, I finally spoke to a person that understood what I meant by unlock bootloader(Yes, most of them had no idea what I was talking about, I even used simple terms such as developer unlock phone officially from Sony website etc)
The person said that they will fix the yellow tint since its a hardware issue. What is NOT covered after unlock bootloader is phone internals such as CPU or motherboard damage. They said they have put me in queue to send my phone in for repairs.
It's been almost 2 months and I am still waiting for my turn to repair my phone.
I called them up 2months ago they said I couldn't send it in now as there was no stock of the screen.and the shipment would be arriving next week. A week later I called and they said still no stock, next shipment in 2 weeks. Well, it's already 2 months and I'm not sure if I will ever get a chance to even repair the tint.
Honestly, poor customer service. Phone technical support staff don't know what is bootloader and they can't get their schedule right on when is the freaking shipment coming in.
My original sxs had a hardware fault where while updating to ics via pcc the update stalled at around 25%. I never had access to the phone again, despite being able to successfully flash back to stock gb, bootloop. This was within a few hrs of receiving the phone.
I was initially advised by my carrier to call Sony support and doing so I was immediately put on to a guy who understood what I was on about, thankfully....however the local service centre wasn't actually Sony rather a decorated mobile phone repair company. Several phone calls later and I discovered that my phone wasn't officially supported on their website when filing my details to see them, or send the phone in. More phone calls later I was advised to just come in-store for the fix. By this stage I was exhausted with worry, frustration and disappointment...
Ended up calling my carrier and claiming a Early Life Failure. They sent me a satchel, I called courier, deemed irreparable, got new phone sent... All took about 3 weeks.
So I worry about Sony's support but I'm hoping this will improve over time. From Melbourne, Australia.

In my experience HTC support has full knowledge. Even if it is Bootloader even if it is unlocking. Whatever. You name it and they are ducking there to help.
But htc sucks in UI and Sony rocks
