Check the original one...
If someone has the original s-view cover and can check the connector's resistance. I think we can take it from there...

It could be a microcontroller sending a command too, not sure how far Samsung went to prevent clones, could even use a microcontroller running an encryption algorithm which could be difficult to reverse engineer. Best option would be to probe both ends with an oscilloscope.

Just wondering if this cable will basically mean my phone can be connected to ipod docks and play sound through those speakers?
Thanks in advance
Couldn't say for sure. But it certainly looks possible. And at less than £2 its not going to be a costly mistake if not.

Thanks for the advice. Is anyone sure if this would work though?
It's just for charging, no audio pass through

Did you try it ?
Did it work for audio and charging both ?
Hey what happens if you take a custom rom for a phone and try to use it on a different phone?

He means you brick it beyond repair and it becomes "an expensive paper weight." Since a paper weight is a slightly heavy block of some sort to hold down your papers, a useless phone fits in that descriptionn

Can you use similar device kernels or do the same rules apply as roms.

Does anyone know if you can out 7105 housing on vzw 605 and if that will open up wireless charging pins?
Sent from my SCH-I605 using xda premium
I was thinking of doing this. The back case is only like $20, so even if it doesn't work, you're not out a whole lotta money..
Yeah I agree ordered mine will find out when it gets here

If you're talking about the battery cover its not going to work unless you modify underneath. There is another thread around here of something doing the mod using a dremel

No, we're talking about this:

Just replacing the Verizon piece with the international piece for easier access to the charging ports.
Found one on ebay with free shipping for 17.95

The 7100 allows wireless charging, correct? If removing 10 or so screws and swapping a back plate is all thats needed for wireless charging, I'll order one of these. Let us know how it goes.

That's pretty cool man, glad you decided to give this a try. But from the posts and videos I remember seeing there was a little more to it than just exposing the metal connectors. I'm not sure exactly. It was a long time ago and I never bothered to follow up on it cause I figured it was too much work for something I most certainly won't even be using in the near future. But I hope it works! If it really is as easy as just changing a piece of plastic I'm all over it, whether I end up using the feature or not.
Yeah I remember reading that people had to put a couple dabs of solder on the contacts to build them up in height. Without that, the contacts would be too low and they wouldn't touch the charging pad. We'll see what happens when xterra gets the part. :fingers-crossed:
It wont fit. I did the same. The housing is different in the area just above the battery

I had a very weird problem!
After 3 months without any bug on my S3 I started to have very long GPS fix time (about 15 minutes) and some times non fixing issue...
I Tryed everything since change rom, give some punches, replace the battery, change kernels, etc...
Suddenly and by chance I figured out that the new case a friend gave to me was blocking the signal!!
What the hell!!!!
I have been using many kind of cases including thick rubber one and only this innocent and thin one caused it!!!
Hope it can help someone.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app

Nastiest aspect is, that when using the phone now against your head listening.
The radio waves are directed towards your head trying to escape!
This should be a health issue too. More of a reason to use the headset now

Without knowing which specific glass you bought, if it says it's for the S4 then I guess it would fit. If you are going to replace it yourself be sure to get the tool kit to install it.
I bought replacement glass for my Galaxy Tab 2 on Amazon and it worked out great.

I wouldn't use any other type of tape, it's a tight fit and it might not sit properly.
Okey, dude now I dont have any doubts!

I would advise NOT to do a glass screen only replacement since it is very easy to mess up the LCD.
I would buy a whole LCD/frame assembly for 100-140 bux on eBay and swap everything over. Then sell your cracked screen with working lcd for around 50-70 bux on eBay.
