[MOD]AT&T Touchwiz Launcher/Docked Icon Drop Shadow - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Themes and Apps

Hey everyone. I'm pretty new here and I thought I would share my modded launcher with you.
I searched high and low for a way to enable drop shadows on the docked icons. Well, I couldn't find anything, so I got out apktools and started hunting.
The drop shadow appears to be enabled on early Touchwiz builds on the galaxy S4, as well as enabled on the S3. I have no idea why Samsung disabled this and not the shortcuts on the homescreen grid, or the appdrawer. To me, it just looks very inconsistent for some icons to have shadows and not others.
This is a deodexed 4x4 grid Touchwiz launcher based off of 4.2.2-I337UCUAMF3. It has docked icon shadow and scrolling wallpaper enabled.
Download/Install Instructions:
1. Download the AT&T SecLauncher3.apk from HERE
2. Make a backup of your rom just in case somthing goes wrong
3. Use a root explorer and navigate to /system/app and find SecLauncher3.apk
4. Rename SecLauncher3.apk to SecLauncher3.apk.bak
5. Copy the SecLauncher3.apk that you downloaded from step #1 into the /system/app folder
6. Change permissions of SecLauncher3.apk to rw-r--r--
7. Reboot

editing icons

So can I go into apks on my PC and replace the icon.PNG inside with a different one and put it back on my phone? I just like all of my icons to be themed the same on my homescreen. Thanks.
Basically, if it's a system apk you can just use 7-zip to replace the icon.png file then push it back to system.
If it's a market apk you'll have to re-sign the apk after you change the icon.
I use autosign.bat, got it off of xda somewhere, android themes maybe.
Cool thanks I will look into doing this. Its he one reason I liked using ads launcher. For themed icons.

[Wallpaper] [Icons] Windows 8 tablet "Metro UI"

After watching the video demoing the Windows 8 tablet I decided to try and recreate as much of the UI as possible.
If this sounds like something you want, you'll need the following apps:
-ADW EX Launcher
-Desktop Visualizer
-Multipicture Live Wallpaper
Optional:
-Palmary Weather Pro
Setup:
-Place the adw_ex_settings.xml file into your /sdcard directory and restore settings in ADW. Or set columns to 9 and rows to 5, make sure you have widgets set to stretch in advanced and turn off wallpaper scrolling.
-Set the wallpaper in Multipicture Live Wallpaper. Or you can try Wallpaper Wizardii if you want, but even though we're only going to be using the one wallpaper I found Multipicture was easier to use.
-Place a shortcut to open/close the app drawer under "Start", use the transparent.png for an icon and delete the text. Then arrange the 2x1 and 1x1 desktop visualizer widgets as you see fit.
*Optional* Modding Palmary Weather Pro:
-Download Apk Manager from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=695701
-Pull the Palmary apk and place it into the modding folder, then run the Apk Manager script and select 1 to unzip the apk.
-Unzip the weather backgrounds and icons (optional) I provided into their respective directories, overwriting the existing files.
-Press 3 to zip it back up and then press 4 to re-sign the apk.
-Install the app and change the background color by choosing different transparencies in Palmary settings.
Please note that if you edit the background png's I provided they will not work afterwards. If you want to add more colors or change the ones I included, you'll have to refer to this guide here: http://modmymobile.com/forums/404-mo...ng-images.html
I hope you like the look, and if you make some new icons or wallpapers please upload them to the thread. If enough new ones get made I'll add them to this post.
Files:
Wtab8_icons - icons, wallpaper, adw settings
Wtab8_psd_fonts - 2x1, 1x1 psd files, Segoe fonts
Wtab8_weather_mod - backgrounds and icons for use with Palmary Weather.
The Palmary icons are still kind of a work in progress, if you live in an area that gets severe weather things can look a bit busy.

You can stop here if you want, but if you want to make the Palmary Weather widget look more like a Windows 8 live tile you'll need to take some additional steps...
First you'll need to download Apk Manager from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=695701
Once you've pulled the Palmary apk, place it into the modding folder and press 1 to unzip the contents into the projects folder, then simply extract the weather backgrounds and icons (optional) into their respective directories. Then press 3 to zip it back up and then press 4 to sign it. Once that's done you can install the app again. Then you can change the background color via the transparency option.

Use the same method used to modify the palmary weather widget on ADW. Once the apk is unpacked, find the icons and make them transparent.

[Q] Page indicator(s)

Hi there
I don't like MIUI, always wotking on CM7, but I DO like the
fact that I will have nice page indicators in MIUI.
Is there an option, widget or mod that can be done by me when I
want a page indicator?
May be a normal dot, but if I can decompile and compile it would
be BETTER!
I use:
- LauncherPro
- Latest SGS CM7 nightly
Thanks in advance!
i would like to know if there is a way to change the page indicators in adw launcher..??
i think it can be changed in the launcher theme apk thou, have not tried this and i dont want to make a theme just so i can change the page indicators.
one way is to embed the indicators to walls.
but i wish there was an easy way to change it in the launcher apk.
anyone??
With MIUI you can just change the images in ADW in your MIUI theme. For example, you'd have a org.adwfreak.launcher (I think that's the right name) folder in your mtz and just put the images in there as they are in the apk. Unfortunately you're trying to do this on CM7, so it won't work the same way.
If LauncherPro already has an option to show page indicators then you can just change the images in the apk. I don't know exactly where the files are in LauncherPro, but they shouldn't be too hard to find. I don't think you have to decompile if you're just swapping out pngs.
You can also make shortcuts to the different pages and use whatever indicator you want as the image for the shortcut. For the current page I just used the app drawer action. You'd have to set columns and rows pretty high to get them fairly close together, and it still doesn't look the same.
On ADW (Ex at least), you can make a shortcut to different pages from the launcher actions shortcut menu. Unless something has changed with LP, you have to use LauncherPro shortcuts to get shortcuts to different pages. I have the files needed to do so somewhere, I can dig them out if anyone wants them.

Hi! I'm using adw launcher ex on cm7
I think pngs to be replaced are pager_dot_normal.png and pager_dot_selected.png (it's all I have found is all I've found that seems to refer to the indicators of the page)
located in:
\res\drawable-hdpi
\res\drawable-mdpi
\res\drawable-xlarge-mdpi
I've opened adw.apk with 7zip and i replaced these pngs, but nothing works. unexplainably i've got old dot indicators even they were replaced

Transparent status bar.

Anyone know how to keep the transparency when setting custom wallpapers? The notification bar goes grayish when setting a custom wallpaper. I was wondering if it was possible to keep the transparency.

Your problem may be that the wall paper isn't reaching the top of the screen. I had the same issue and I had to change a setting in apex launcher for that to work on my Evo 3D. I haven't tried it on my S4
Swyped from my GS4
Yes there is, but it isn't easy. First you'll need to root the phone. Download Root Explorer. Navigate to system/apps and copy secwallpaperchooser.apk to your computer via your preferred file transfer method. Edit the apk using winrar and replace one of the stock wallpapers with yours, making sure the size of the picture is the same as that of the original wallpaper. Also make sure to name that file the same as the stock wallpaper. Put the apk back to system/apps and reboot.
Many of the launchers like Nova allows this for devices that support it, like the Galaxy s 4

Launcher Questions

So I installed Loki's rom and I really like what it does to the watch other than the fact that every icon is kind of small now. Is there any way to reinstall OUI v1 or is there a decent launcher out there that will let me resize the icons?
Which icons? The main page or in the app drawer?
You can resize both. In Smart Launcher Theme settings you adjust the icon size. Main screen is "Bubbles size" and app drawer is "Icon Size"

Both preferably. I like the look of what OUI v1 does. 2x2 icons per screen at a decent size.
You are not going to be able to get a 2x2 grid in Smart Launcher. OUI 1 is nothing more than the default Android launcher with the dock hidden. OUI2 is not much more than that either.
OUI2 is easier to reinstall. Just go to the Removed folder and look in /system/app for the OUI apk and tap on it to install it.
OUI1 is launcher2 apk and odex which would need it to be copied to the /system/app folder and have the permissions changed to RW-R--R--. You then need to reboot.

OUI2 is only on the TrueSmart so that would explain why it is not there.

oh duh sorry ok. guess the long way it is.
Nova Laucher can be set for any grid you like
You can set the Nova Launcher to be any grid 2x2, 4x2, 4x4 icons and the icons are auto resized to fill screen. I am using it now and set it to a 4x3 with a permanent app bar as the fourth line on the screen face.
