Hi!
I bought myself used T-Mobile HTC One which has been already unlocked by prev. user as well as he installed GPE Rom on it.
The thing is - now I'm in Europe and would like to convert it to an International/Euro HTC One.
I would be pleased if some from more experienced users than me would help with info I've got right now, as well as advise me what to do next to get things done without bricking my device.
I attached photo from fastboot. Also, this is what I've got from ALL in ONE tool (GetVar All):

I'll be very grateful for help. This is my first HTC device, I've got bit of a exp. with Samsung flashing etc.
Use revone to s-off and then sim unlock via a reputable source online.

As I wrote it is already unlocked. Used it in AT&T, T-Mobile and two networks in Europe

Then revone for s-off and change cid and mid to desired ruu and flash away

You are already a ul all you should have to do is flash the ruu. But I would recommend going back to stock and s-off incase you wish to get rid of the tampered and unlocked/relocked
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 4
So I should first s-off, change cid , then mid and flash stock Rom right? Unlocked and tampered doesn't bother me at all - if those won't affect flashing of course
Wysłane z mojego HTC One przy użyciu Tapatalk 4
One more question: does changing cid, mid and radio affect reception? Like: can flashing different modem allow tmobile phone to work as international version? Is changing bands possible?

What good is that gonna do ? I already know how to do all that. My phone was s off. The only thing I can think of is find
Cid HTC 622 RUU and see if I can downgrade to 1.44 hboot then s off. If I can't s off I'm not keeping this phone
Stickies talk about converting Att to international .
I have a Att loaded with stock international 4.2.2 s on and a different cid
Can't change my firmware or radio without s off
I'm just gonna send it back in since no one has Amy ideas

Hey just letting everyone know rumrunner works with the new TMO RUU and HBOOT 1.55. Running S-OFF now whoohoo!
Did you take the update via OTA and then use Rumrunner? I am still on 127.531.11. I was waiting to see if I should take the update and use rumrunner or If I should downgrade to 123.531.8 or .7 and use revone to S-OFF... thanks for the post either way!
What version of rumrunner did you use?
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
I thought my title was self explanatory... Guess not .
If you are on the new RUU use the appropriate rumrunner version that corresponds with it.
If you are on before use revone.

I took the latest OTA, unrooted and s-on. I flashed custom recovery, rooted, and then went through rumrunner. The S-off was the easiest part of the whole process. Well done.
Worked great
Rumrunner works great with 4.3 on 1.55, got S-off now, thanks for the info

I requested the Rumrunner team to add support for latest firmware from the official RUU . Also donated to support and thank them for their work and you should too.
Anyone who wants to S-OFF they can do so from the latest RUU. No need to go back to previous versions of hboot.
Rumrunner team did good work

Just go to the Rumrunner. us website and Use either the HTC Universal if your phone isn't listen on the list bellow. And it shouldn't but always make a back up. Remember to have a full battery. I used it many times without and it failed and the time that it did work I had full battery.
I need help getting my phone to s-off. I have hboot 1.55 and I have android 4.3, my phone is unlocked and rooted with twrp. Everytime I try doing rumrunner or revone it doesn't work. With revone I get error 1. With rumrunner I get this TTTT*************** message and press enter to exit.

Have you tried Firewater S-OFF tool?

Ah, love you guys. Not sure why I didn't S-Off in the first place after I unlocked and rooted but I finally got around to it. Could have been because things didn't go so smoothly with the EvoLTE I had at 1AM This was before the warning about using USB hubs. I believe the name was LadyX who helped me get through so late in the night. That was worth the 50 bucks

I bought a used HTC ONE M8 originally purchased from BELL Canada and carrier unlocked by BELL Canada. HTC Canada told me that I can only get the OTA from BELL as it was originally purchased from them even though it is unlocked. Unfortunately my SIM card is with Fido and they don't even support the M8! I am wondering if I can change the CID/MID to make it look like I bought it unlocked directly from HTC so that I can get the OTA updates? I am a newbie who just switched from years of iPhone and have only S-OFF and rooted the phone so far (with TWRP recovery). I have had a Nexus 7 for 2 years and never had a problem with updates, I did not realize it would be hard with an HTC One m8...

You might have a better response in the HTC One (M8) forum. This is for the M7. If the M8 is similar to the M7, then the answer is yes. You would want to make it a Developers Edition it gets the updates straightaway. And according to your getvar all you are still S-ON not S-OFF.

Thanks! I am re-posting it in the proper section, sorry! I did notice the getvar showing S-ON. Don't know why as I had S-OFF as soon as I got the phone with the proper code file, no diea why it reverted. Anyway, thanks again for the reply and I will be posting in the proper section.

I have tried almost every unlocking method available on the internet. The normal htcdev method doesnt work and gives some sort of error, I also tried the jcase bootloader exploit and it too doesnt work. I know that SunShine can unlock and root my device, but I would like to know if there is any possibility of a free unlock. Now, I have come looking for help by starting a new thread. Verizon blocked HTCdev on all their devices. The only way to unlock the bootloader is the s-off exploit for your software version. The most recent update can only be s-off with sunshine.
I have the same phone and same problem.. I guess we have to pay $25

You can have a 1,000 copies of Firewater, they'd all be useless without the server on the other end up and running.
Yes Sunshine wants money, but it also works and is well worth it for the freedom it provides with such ease of use.
But go right ahead and continue to search for a free method, you will have wasted well over $25 worth of time looking for a solution that doesn't exist. :good:

Yes, it heats up. That's because /system/bin/mediaserver and /system/bin/logcat2 which wucks around 30% of CPU each. Why? Because a bug when you turn on your wi-fi.
Just use Weaksauce 2 to get temproot, install System Tuner or similar and after each reboot kill mediaserver.

Firewater it's server dependant. Since no one donated, after they couldn't pay server fees anymore, it has to be shut down. The $25 for sunshine helps keep the server up and pays for the bricked phones the Devs damaged trying to find a safe exploit. It also pays for new phones, like the M9.

Please forgive newbie ignorance. I rooted my AT&T HTC One M8 about a year ago with very little knowledge and the assistance of a "dummies" guide so I could run Titanium backup. In that time with no OTA updates, my phone's become glitchy and I want to get it to a new Marshmallow base. I don't really care if it's a custom ROM or the recent stock ATT update, just want to get everything up to date and stable.
I have TWRP and SuperSU installed. My CID is stock. I am S-ON and the phone is unlocked.
What is the easiest way for me to get my phone up to date?
Need more info. Do fastboot getvar all, and post the output (delete IMEI and serial number before posting).
Also, do you actually use AT&T as your cellular provider, or no?
Without knowing more, I'd say that flashing a custom ROM is probably the easiest way to get to MM. But I can't say for sure whether you are configured with the right firmware to run the current ROMs or not, without the info requested above.

1 .If you want to bring the phone back to stock you will have to relock bootloader and run this ruu http://androidruu.com/getdownload.p...40.45.C33065.00_F_release_426617_signed_2.exe then try ota updates that should bring you to stock att marshmallow but keep in mind it's not that easy to root when you are on marshamallow but it's not terrible.
2. If you want custom rooted marshamallow roms just head to HTC One m8 Android development , there are plenty of roms there. Good luck.

Will I have to gain S-OFF to relock my bootloader?
No. Just google how to do it

Rooting MM is easy, and same basic process as LP: unlock bootloader again, flash TWRP, (highly recommended to make a TWRP backup), then flash SuperSU. Only difference, is that you need to make sure to use proper version TWRP (3.0.x) and SuperSU 2.65.
In particular, using an old (not updated for MM) version of SuperSU will cause a bootloop or no boot. But its basic good practice to always check and use the proper recovery version and SuperSU version any time you root.

No, s-off is only needed to make it say LOCKED for folks that want warranty service.
To make it say RELOCKED (which is acceptable for RUU) is a single fastboot command (and s-on is fine):
fastboot oem lock

The fact you mention relocking the bootloader, means its currently unlocked. And to me implies you currently have TWRP installed (if so, what version?).
If that is the case, and a relatively updated TWRP version, it would be a simple matter to put a MM custom ROM on the phone or SD card, and flash it in TWRP.
MM ROMs will run fine on the current setup. Its really your choice whether you want to flash a MM custom ROM, or return to stock by RUU and OTA to MM. But if you want less steps, custom ROM is probably the way to go.
My TWRP version is 2.8.6.1.
I'd be fine with a Custom Rom. I have no idea which ones are stable and support my hardware, though.
All marshamallow roms from one m8 Android development will work fine on your current device . Just browse and read.

TWRP version is probably fine, but best to update to the current version, 3.0 (flash TWRP by fastboot). Required files and instructions here: https://twrp.me/devices/htconem8gsm.html
Any of the ROMs intended for the AT&T M8 or the "international" version will work. Any of the Sense ROMs should be stable. "Stable" being a subjective term, but they should all be fine as daily drivers. Its more of matter of what features you want, and that is the fun bit about custom ROMs, so its really your choice!
