You mean just return to stock. no apps and data??
settings/ backup & restore
"factory reset"
Or
Plug your device into a PC. Install "Sony PC companion"
and then to reinstall of the firmware...
The first options is faster. The second option is what people usually do when there is something major wrong with their Sony operating system.

All these thinks. Doesnt Workshop! PC companion says Display locket no connect to Phone. Is there a way like Samsung to Come in bootmenu?

Sorry I'm not understanding you. If you are in the standard sony firmware, then going into your devices 'settings' and then scrolling down the 'backup & restore' and then selecting factory reset... then thats all you need to do. You device will have that as an option.
Last scenario go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=45840741#post45840741
and flash another FTF... read all the info

I hate the Keyboard. Sorry, i meen there is a displaylock by Power on. So I have to Reset IT. It was my Child by playing with my Sony.

I'm sorry, but you should try to write a little better before you hit "Submit". I have no idea what Reese Witherspoon has to do with this, but I'm sure she doesn't have a PC companion tool. I might be wrong though. She's a very versatile individual

So now on my PC. I cant make a hard reset because my xperia has a Display lock in German "Displaysperre mit einem Muster" My son had made this and he dont know how it was. I remember by Samsung or other Devices you can Reset the phone in the Bootmenu, or recovery Mode. On sony ther is no Recovery mode or anything else i know! So how can i make a Hard reset with it. For the People who mean go in the Settings and make this and that.......... it doesnt work, becouse i dont come on anything in the phone because the Display is locked!!!
Many thanks for helping me and sorry for my bad english
Kind regards
Stefan

If you connect your device to a pc running PC Companion, you can select the option to reinstall the latest firmware and then choose to wipe the device (factory reset).
You will lose all of your data obviously, but it will also get around the pattern lock screen that your son has created.

that doesnt work because pc companion tells me there is no phone or diplay locked

This is indeed the only solution. You need to download a .ftf, even if you don't find your country it is still working and flash t with Flashtool. As I am not sure which model you have, you need to look on the forum for find the good .ftf.

XPERIA U cannot get into fastboot mode, unlocking bootloader

Hi all,
My XPERIA U cannot get into fastboot mode even though I plugged the USB cable with holding down Volume Up Button.
I also tried it with holding down Volume Down Button.
I cannot have the bootloader unlocked.
My XPERIA U says its bootloader is allowed to be unlocked, and it is SIM free.
Please give me an advise to me!!
Thanks!

Same problem here
Anyway I try downloading flashtool and in the driver folder ( inside flashtool folder) there is an installer try install it when there are check box check them all and install
After that fastboot mode should be working
This is the easiest way to install fastboot driver, I think
It works for me

Just get the flashtool from here:
http://androxyde.github.com/
Install it (make sure you disable your antivirus while downloading).
Open C:\Flashtool\drivers and install the drivers.
Its the easiest way as Theonlyzii mentioned.
Theres workaround in general forum.
You must FAST!
Open device manager first
When you plugged in ur device with fast boot mode there should be a new driver detected on device manager,. Right click and update driver( you must fast before its disappear). After you succesfully install the driver now you can reconnect ur device in fastboot mode.
Hope this help. You might want to search that workaround im talking about for clearer instruction.

Nah mate...
I had failed. Windows just couldn't find the right drivers from doomlord's thread
Anyway, flashtool is the easiest, and pain free method.

Thanks all!!
Finally I could succeed unlocking the bootloader with the way of installing the driver from flashtool that you advised me!
I was not able to this method on my Windows8 RP PC, and I did not find the reason why I cannot. And I succeeded this on another Windows 7 PC! Thanks to you, I could notice that.
And for you, ankh.red,
I was trying it many times because my Xperia U turn off the blue LED soon(around 3 seconds). But it was always failing detecting any driver after I catch my Xperia U on the Device Manager. Of cource I had a driver from Sony's official page.
I think windows8 will need some change to do this. I have found on web someone who succeeded it on Windows8...
Anyway, I was helped by you! Thank you!! I will search next interesting things on the rooted from now!

Yeah I have the same problem before... Blue LED 3 sec,
I have to install the fastboot driver ( not the Sony one but the one in fastboot USB folder) before it disappear on devices manager..
Anyway, I glad you're able to unlock your bootloader now .
Happy rooting lol

Dont wanna start another thread so im just going ask here:
1. Why the speaker is so quite or is it just me?!
2. How can i root without unlocking bootloader since i dont wanna loose drm files( did they even important?! )
3. If there be some forum just for xperia U/P or we need to post in this ection....
P.S. previousely iv had xperia x8 so im new with this xperia, and sorry if this questions are already answered....
1. Enable xLoud in Settings>Sound
2. Not yet possible. I believe DRM is some protection given to music files bought legally. I think you might not be able to play such files (correct me if I'm wrong)
3. Not yet. Many have requested mods. No seperate sections

thank you sir. perhaps someone can upload the latest one to a more useful temporary upload site, like yousendit perhaps? i am trying that older version though... i just need it for the drivers due to the fastboot won't activate the driver search and the XperiaU just continues to charge instead of remaining in fastboot.

For Windows 8 users. The drivers cannot be installed because of the driver signature enforcement.
This is how to disable it.
First, press win + I to launch the charm bar, and click Change PC Settings at the bottom.
Then, go to General, and scroll to the bottom of the page, click Restart Now button under Advanced Startup section.
The computer reboots to a startup menu, in which click Troubleshoot.
And click Advanced Options at next screen.
Choose Startup Settings next And click Restart button.
The computer reboots and prompts another menu to choose. One of the items is to Disable driver signature enforcement. Press number 7 or F7 to continue booting to Windows 8 with digital sign enforcement disabled.
Hope that helps

[Q] Soft bricked Xperia 10 HELP!

I was trying to root the phone before unlocking bootloader... yes i know bootloader should be unlocked first (Thats how i did my nexus s). So heres the problem, when i used flashtool (from this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1196808) to root the phone and i finished the kernel downgrade, and since it said to unplug the phone than, power on the device, and once you feel a vibration, immediately plug in the cable, i did and its just not doing anything now, the root button isnt popping up. Than i accidently closed flashtool and now the phone is stuck on the sony ericsson boot screen.
I was planning to do this: Unlock Bootloader -> Root Phone -> Flash desired rom/kernel
I dont need anything in my phone so i dont care if everything in there is lost. So if anyone knows what to do at this point please try and help me. Thanks in advance

Okay so you have installed all the drivers for flashtool and PC Companion?
What have you done with your phone, on which software version have you been, is your bootloader locked/unlocked, are you on a custom rom/kernel?
Please give us more information and we can maybe help you
Hi George,
It looks like your phone has gone into a factory mode as said in this thread.
You might want to send it to warranty repair if your bootloader is still intact and your warranty period isn't over or you might want to try different key combinations to wake your phone from coma (that's what it looks like) . If you manage to boot your device using different key combinations then immediately put your phone in A/C charging. After full charge do a factory reset and repair your phone using seus (this might work but not guaranteed) . For more info google "qhsusb_dload xperia" and also read the above mentioned link carefully.
Good luck!
Press thanks if I helped you.

This issue is a rarity. It is generally a device fault or happens when you play with the device's bootloader in the way you shouldn't. I've read somewhere it means that there is no bootloader in the device and the phone is waiting to be flashed with a bootloader and that's why it's called the factory mode. ( I can't verify my sources on this ).

[Q] Xperia Neo V Recovery, Factory Restore

Greetings.
My niece has an Xperia Neo V and she forgot her lockscreen password. There is no way to access the phone now so i figured out the only way to become usable again is to restore it to factory state. The problem is with the phone locked i can't go into settings and do the restore. Is there any way i can get into boot menu or recovery mode or something like that?
The phone is in either stock 2.3 Gingerbread or stock 4.0.4 ICS...can't be sure which one because i don't have access to the phone's information in the settings.
Before people start saying that i should search before i post, i found many post that pointed i needed to press some Power+volume button combinations when the phone is shutdown, but neither of those combinations worked, as with all combinations the phone booted normally and i didn't see any recovery or boot menu.
So how do i do it?
The phone is not rooted ofc, as its wearing stock Android..

if u go into flashmode in your phone ,
your computer (i assume its a windows pc and not any s***t apple product) will seach for the drivers automatically.
just connect phone in flashmode without opening flashtool.
after the drivers install
flash the stock .ftf file.
and BTW stock sony software dosn't let any1 set a pin/password without alt question.
or maybe she would've forgotten it..

Are you able to charge your phone via AC adapter? If not charge your battery using some wall charger and try to connect in fastboot mode.
the problem seems to be that i have damaged my phone s trim area ,i relocked my bootloader with flashtool so i could take it to repair shop.then i thought(wrong) that i shoul unlock it again and tried with testpoint method..after this my phone can not enter flashmode and fastboot mode and no led lights up in general.so i end in this conclusion that i erased my bootloader s trim area.
the only way i found to repair this is Alejandrissimo s wayhttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1252038
and i sent him message for help.
if somebody is aware of another method i would be very obliged if he let me know.
