Looks great. Can't wait to try this out.
I wonder how this compares to CarbonROM?
So far so great. This is actually very similar to carbon with a few minor changes here and there. One thing I will say is that I was able to get v4a working with this ROM and never could with carbon
---------- Post added at 09:45 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:44 PM ----------
This one is kinda memory heavy though. Even with that, great job kkozma.
Talk about options.
Anyone found the setting to swap the volume keys in horizontal mode?
One thing I noticed is that Chrome is an absolute PIG in this ROM, so if you're trying to use that, don't. lol
Battery life seems to be atrocious just like every other 4.3 ROM out there as well. I will say though that the screen off battery life does seem to be much better than Paranoid.

Yes, the options in this are ludicrous. One option I'm looking for and haven't found yet is how to turn off the STUPID quick settings panel. I *HATE* that thing on a phone based ROM. Especially because this ROM marks the triumphant return of the notification power widget.
Whenever I turn data off the LTE or 3g icon still shows, when though when I go into settings data is disabled.

I have found a few issues (still a great ROM!).
When you turn Dark Revolt on there is still a lot of black on white background.
Also the reboot menu doesn't have the bootloader option.
And, as stated earlier, it is pretty RAM heavy. First boot I only had 27 mb free and no active apps. Second boot only 200mb.
Never tried the stock kernel for this ROM, flashed Funky 4.0.1 right off the bat.

:good: So far, it is working nicely on my Rez. I have tested several of the 4.3 ROMs and some just won't work for me because of data and MMS issues. This one seems solid on those items. Think I'll settle in for a while and see how it does for a few days. Thanks for the hard work getting this to us!
Hi. Just installed this ROM after running the latest RUU and switching to TWRP. It is noticeably slower than Beanstalk rom that I ran beforehand. Someone mentioned that it's a memory hog which is also true. Just wondering why.
Thanks.

I've never run beanstalk before, but I can say that this ROM is the fastest I've run on my phone and also the smoothest. As for why it's got such a large memory footprint? I could only guess, but my thinking is it has something to do with the smoothness I've observed and keeping more things in memory for faster access than other ROMs.
Also seems that I can't toggle my swagger... :darn:

Kkozma, thanks for your response. Do you think that wiping internal memory might? I didn't do it because I am able to access both internal and external memories just fine. However, I would wipe it if required.

AOSPA for legacy devices (non-nexus) is still in progress. Consider this build as a early preview.
Please do not answer questions that have been asked and answered before, just ignore/report them.
You should use TWRP and always wipe system
and factory reset before flashing and cache/dalvik after!
BE WARNED, 4.2.0 is not the most bugless android, the issues are known.
FEATURES for 2.99,
Hybrid engine,
Per app Layout, this will let you choose the UI of any app, that means you can switch apps into their tablet layouts
Per app Size, scale apps individually, this is especially important if you use tablet apps, go as small or big as you like
Per app Color, this lets you select statusbar and navbar colors for apps individually, colors will shift when you jump from one app to another
Hybrid engine makes it possible to use any tablet ready app available on your phone, start with your regular Google apps and see what treasures lie hidden in them and just how well they work on your device.
You can use hybrid engine to use all available general interface UI's aswell: Phone, Phablet, Tablet. This is safe as milk, we don't change DPI, we don't trash your market, we don't shrink all your apps or force them into layouts, you don't need to edit system files for that.
Transparent bars and color pickers, new SystemUI drawables thanks to giannisgx89
Theming Engine
Statusbar Settings, Lockscreen Settings

This ones a bit bigger so lets just get to the point,
Pa-prefs gets a new pop-up/dialog based interface. It'll be way faster to navigate when you visit the app list.
A new toggle will show you hybrid properties for each foreground app. You tap it and it will open up the same pop-up again. This allows you to change stuff for apps faster than ever before. We've cut out some nonsense like that forceclose dialog.
Pa-prefs comes in holo dark, brings lots of stylechanges and refinements.
PIE wont freeze pixels on nex7 anymore, it will not cause choppy recents. These troubles were from Android but we've found a way to fix them, without checking hw-overlays.
Plus several bugfixes like always.

Any sign of the latest unofficial Jellybam and Jellybear ROMS?
This looks an amazing rom. I wasn't going to root my phone as don't want to void my warranty and it works brilliantly but after seeing your rom I'm so tempted.
Video recording not working for me. What's the problem?
AWESOME! I'm gonna try it out on my N7105 tonight. Will give my feedback here.
photo sphere can't use, say not support N7105
successfully flashed onto n7105.
had trouble opening dialer app and contacts app.
*EDIT* - Problem with contacts n dialer solved.
However, each time my phone screen turns off, it cannot be turned on again. I need to hold the power button and reset the phone.
Why?
Able to record videos now. But unable to record any sound. Only video no audio... Maybe a fix for it would be good.

HTC One Illusion Rom FAQs
How do I enable HALO?
Go into settings. Under Illusion System Settings, select interface. You will find Halo Options. Here you can turn on halo, and tweak the way Halo works.
Where is my Data toggle in the notification pane quick settings panel?
As of right now, the only way to toggle data is through the Data Usage menu in settings. A fix is being worked on for this. I believe the problem exists in quite a few ROMS for the One.
Why isn't my NFC working?
Don't worry, all you need to do is flash the file at the bottom of this post title NFC Fix. This fix was pointed out by @Pony Express.
How do I enable/Disable CRT animations?
CRT off animation can be toggled under Illusion System Settings>Display
How do I access Google Now?
On the HTC One, the HTC logo is NOT a button. However, in the Illusion ROM (and some other ones), the strip above the logo has been modded to work as a button. Long pressing that stip will give you instant access to Now
Are there any other Bugs I should be aware of?
Not sure if it is mac only, or whether this will occur on PC as well, but if you connect as MTP, mac does not recognize it. ADB and PTP work fine. It is only MTP where this issue occurs. At this point, I feel the issue is with Macs being unable to recognize the MTP protocol. I was able to work it on a PC.

Great rom. I just flashed an hour or 2 ago and I have had no problems. Is it possible to get rid of the background on the halo bubble? Also, it seems like whenever you uninstall an app, a pop-up comes up and says "settings has stopped." the app still uninstalls but just a FYI. Nothing major.

** Install Instructions **
Clean Wipe and Flash Talon 1.0.zip (Flash boot.img if you are S-On)
The first time the ROM boots after install, the boot animation will appear to freeze. Just give it a minute and it will finish booting to the home screen.
In the welcome wizard, uncheck the two settings that say "Backup my account to Google." If you have a backup app, Google backup is unnecessary and can confuse the ROM.
At the end of the setup wizard, it may appear to be frozen. Press the home button to open launcher.
By default, the ROM has the system theme. To get the ROM how it looks in the screenshot, first go to System Settings -> Themes and choose to apply your choice of Pitch Black (blue on black) or Jelly Black themes (white on black).
Press home to go back to the home screen and open the Nova Launcher settings. Look for the section that says Look and Feel -> Icon Set. Choose the Minimal icon set (which are black and white icons).
To get the AOKP wallpaper, long-press on the desktop, click Wallpapers then choose "Swag Papers" as the source. The wallpaper in the screenshot is the very first one in the gallery.
For some reason, the Camera icon isn't in the dock by default. All you have to do is open the app drawer, long-press the camera icon and then when the home screen shows up, drag it to the empty space on your dock.

No, a coworker accidentally knocked my 2 TB external hard drive off my desk and killed it. I tried to dev on another PC and ran out of hard drive space. You literally have to have a minimum of 50+ GB free just to work on one ROM.
Neo helped me find a working build setup. It's good to be back! And I plan on being with the Rezound probably at least through January, if not longer. Glad to be part of our little community.
And hope you like the ROM. It's not as fast as Neo's ROMs, but the CrossBreeder mod I baked in makes things pretty snappy.
I gotta say, this is awesome .

issue?
I have flashed this and the rom itself is great so far...but when I went to change the wallpaper to one of the photos from my phone it says "no external storage". I cant even use the camera, says the same. I can mount the phone to pc and see everything as I should and via card reader. Strange thing is I can flash things in recovery with the rom from the external sd...I don't get it. Gonna switch back to previous rom and see if it finds the external storage. Will post back.
This is an unofficial build of Chameleon OS for the Droid DNA. I will be maintaining this as often as I can and will do my best to keep it up to date with the official release.
Note: Some of the features listed here might not be implemented in 4.4 yet.
I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING THAT HAPPENS TO YOUR DEVICE. IT IS YOUR PHONE, AND YOUR RESPONSIBILITY.

Thanks for porting this ... very nice work sir :victory:
There's one bug I just discovered... If you turn off the screen manually, the button backlights stay on. If you let the screen go off by itself, the backlights turn off. I'm working on figuring it out.

I can confirm this also .... going to go over and flash your updated bam and take it for a quick ride ...
Okay I'm not really sure what to do about it... I tried removing the button brightness option from the device tree completely but it seems to have a mind of its own. Unfortunately, ChaOS doesn't have the kitkat sources posted for most of its devices so I don't know how they normally would have it set.

Darn, I was hoping you'd have a quick fix. Ive been wanting to try out ChaOS for some time now. Maybe I'll still give it a go just for kicks.

There have been similar issues on various devices with various ROMs from time to time, I think there's an app in the Play store meant to remedy button brightness bugs. I'm off to school now, hopefully I'll have time to work on it more tommorrow.
Also was having issues with the clock no showing up either in center or side

I'm thinking that's probably an issue with the ROM itself, but I'll look into that as well

Right on. I'm not sure if the theming has been added back into kit kat yet, I haven't played with it too much.
Hey have you seen anything like the button backlight issue I'm experiencing with the ROMs you've built? I thought it had to do with the overlays but now I'm not so sure

Just a little something to think about .. when I flashed the second time after I played with the new bam, the back light issue was gone???

Never had an issue with button backlights
There's an overlay in the config file for capacitive button brightness
Do you have it?

Absolutely. The reason I haven't done another release it is because I couldn't figure out the button backlight problem so I kind of got frustrated and gave up. My device tree is on my github if you want to use it, just needs to be updated with the latest cm commits.

Gapps inckuded or Why is it 420 Mb ?
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
I can't even download it. Just requests me to download an application from the play store. Kinda interested in this but not too sure...
Edit... Also if this ROM is only 400 mb then why did you cross out the step to install gapps? This is rather confusing

Really liking it so far.
Couple of bugs here and there:
• if you enable keyboard open/close animations it seems a bit temperamental trying to get it to come up when you have it in horizontal mode.
• I noticed the default animation speed for list view is 0*15, at default you basically can't see it (18*15 feels about right)
• while multitasking I found the sound to skip a few times here and there as if the CPU is being held up somehow.
• pocket mode for lockscreen notifications also seems to be a bit temperamental but have done a reboot or two since then and seeing how it goes from then.
Loving the ROM so far, it's very smooth and has a nice array of features. Finding my phone is getting a little hot though and noticed in Trickster that thermal throttling is disabled...is it being handled by the kernel in another way?
OK.... While typing there... Another big sound hang :S

I think other devices are getting 1.3.2 so maybe we'll see that update here too soon.
Wow.... Impressive... I was skeptical at first but this rom is very responsive and has several mods to it. Thank you for this. I'm running PA gapps and ART
OK I think it's a CM11 bug but the sound/video freezes probably once every 30secs while watching YouTube. Less bad if listening to music or something but it still happens randomly nevertheless.

Thanks mate. Please update fix in OP too...
Nice timing as I was thinking of replacing phone app with Slim or AOSP ROMs.
BTW nice ROM so far been using it from last 24 hours. Let's see how battery life like as didn't had much from other AOSP ROMs...
VERY nice rom! Love all the extra features!
Only other bug i noticed other than the call log is that, when on the phone and you put it up to your ear, the screen goes black like normal but you can still press all the buttons with your face.

this is a "every aosp rom" bug..i have it with cyanogenmod, omni, and all other aosp rom
The only Issue I had that's stopping me from using this daily is that I can't get exchange mail to work. Keeps giving me a error and says check details but they are all right.
