LG releases Source Codes for the International G2. Hope it will help the devs.
Here is the link: https://www.lg.com/global/support/opensource/opensourceList?types=ALL&search=G2
Any developer that's needs this will already know where to find it. This shouldn't be in development.

I would say that LG's released source code deserves to be in the dev section. Better to have it than not have it.

And now we all know about it without having to hunt it down or without getting confused, or having people assume we know. :good:
I'm surprised that LG has released it, coming from Motorola Atrix territory. They didn't release jack, so I am hopeful of better support.
I might confused, is it only the kernel source?
I understood sources are pretty good that a rom kan be kanged directly from it, is that correct?

Okay so I'm attempting to compile a rom from the android source but there is a few things I'm confused about. Such as where to get the proprietary binaries for SGH-I777. If you have any experiance with compiling from AOSP and could give me a hand on my first compile let me know. Thanks

wouldnt the thread be more helpful to other people who might have the same question if you posted how you figured it out instead of editing your OP, saying you figured it out and asking for the thread to be closed?

Well considering the files required for their specific device. They need to download the vendor files and run an extracting script with their phone connected. I think I might just make a guide for the device I'm using.

Just saw that the CM crew already has a 10.2 (Android 4.3) release out. I wonder how long it will take to get it on our phone? In the release post on G+ it says Qualcom devices come second after the Nexus devices. Can't wait

Was a joke... Calm down. I couldn't find a mention about it anywhere, and as far as I'm concerned CM hasn't even released 10.2 yet. At least not a halfway stable release.
No such thing as 4.3, that's the joke.
What's the deal with folks asking for updates all the time, even for roms that really have no bugs people want an update. Maybe the developers should slowly fix problems so we can get daily updates and people will think developers are "working" on things.

No disrespect man. It was disbelief. They already have a Nexus 10.2 build out? And it's been ported to the DNA. All in the mater of a couple days seems... unbelievable. But hey, shout out to those developers.
I have plenty of these forms to go around.. my guess is this thread needs closed.. about done with XDA in general... it's getting to where you can't say anything at all.. positive or negative...

Haha OK I get it. I'll have it filled out and faxed to you within the hour.
I'm fine with joking but I really don't appreciate when I'm called, intentionally or not, a liar. I think what I do here deserves at least that much respect, don't call me a liar. The disrespect here is a main reason I had originally planned to not release anything here.

AOSP KitKat Will Come To XZU Soon
Hope DoomLord Will Get An Z Ultra Soon
Nice, can't wait!
It was easily ported from nexus 5 to 4.
I would settle for a straight aosp build without the extras!
Been hearing good things about 4.4.

Strange thread. The world comes to its end soon. When? I don't know.
Please post some kind of link where is stated that kitkat comes to our device because every one can shout anything.

KitKat can come to any device as long as someone is working on the kernel and proprietary files. We have Kali here so I'm guessing that's a good sign that it's coming.

Why are you not sure? I'm 100% sure that AOSP 4.4 will come to the Z Ultra. And a trusted developer has been quoted as saying he is working on it at the moment.

Could someone use the kernel and propriety drivers from the current builds of 4.3 or are new ones needed?

You are aware that we're talking about the AOSP version and NOT Sony's right? Devs are saying that they're working on Kit Kat as we speak. What's the problem? Should we get @krabappel2548 in here so he can confirm that he's working on it?

You don't get my point. All that info isn't in op. So making a thread and claiming something without further info is weird. That's my point.

I will have to respectfully disagree. There is an attachment on the original post which shows krabappel2548 saying he will bring it to the ultra. From that I pulled up the other links. So the OP didn't claim something without further info, or at least not that couldn't have been followed up if you had an interest in the topic.

Anytime there is a new source / base, then dev's need to start a tree from scratch. It takes a huge amount of time. So don't expect a release soon..
I just started a fully new device tree and running a first compile of 4.4 kitkat with the 4.3cm kernel.
Anyway I'm expecting some errors to pop up with caf and qcom.hardware maybe. I'll keep.you guys posted here and also in Z1 kitkat in.november thread
You can also check my site, important news will appear there too
I can't give any ETA since kitkat is brand new + we didn't had an AOSP device tree from 4.3 to start from. Just keep your fingers crossed and check XDA for updates

Edit... And If you need alpha/beta testers you know where we are, nandroids at the ready
Finally BUMP has been officially released by Team Codefire
@thecubed has posted a thread on G3 forum which can be found over here
BUMP for LG Devices
OP quotes as follows
What is this?
This is Bump! A new and easy way to sign boot images for most modern LG phones so they'll boot on any locked phone.
Bump an image once, and flash it to however many phones you please.
Click to collapse
Which suggests that it will be available for our G2 too and finally we will be able to use Bumped Kernel based on Kitkat sources and with Lollipop sources too in near future.
Edit:-
It will work on our G2 too. This is the extract from the BUMP website
Will Bump work on other phones?
Bump only supports LG phones, specifically the Optimus series of phones. Bump will not work on Samsung, Motorola, HTC, or other vendor hardware.
How is Bump different from Loki?
Bump works on LG devices that have Loki patched. There is no need to downgrade your firmware to use Loki anymore.
Click to collapse
P.S. :- I am no way associated with Team Codefire and all the credits for the work goes to the respective members of the team. Do consider donating them for their efforts. Let the good days for our G2 begin
Yes, it works on ALL LG devices. G Pad, G Pro, G Pro 2, Optimus G, G2, G2 Summit, World Leader Conference, oh wait...
Ok, so I know this thread is ancient, but does anyone know how to BUMP img files as codefi.re isn't existing anymore?
