You can manually update by downloading this: http://sdrv.ms/1bGfkdU (using PC)
this will wipe all data though.

Yeah but I can't cancel out of the firmware update on my screen. Will that be a problem? Sighs I was hoping I wouldn't have to wipe my phone.

you can probably force restart and clear out the RAM by holding the volume up button (or down I don't remember) and the power button. It won't wipe any data and you can connect to PC and backup.

Thanks I just ended up turning off mobile data and wifi before restarting and it worked.

Sorry if this sounds condescending, but is the back cover on the phone?
Edit: Never mind, you said no data, not no signal.
It was a bad SIM card.

Take a look in /system/user/keylayout/
Make sure power button is set to WAKE
Also if this doesn't work You can try some apps to shutdown screen.

You told the Headset Controller was infected. Resoring inffected app will lead to the same thing. You have to locate this app and do not restore it

Just a quick question, if you change the direction for the power button, and your screen doesn't wake up by other hardware buttons, how the hell do you turn your phone on?

Take the battery and put it back. Start up the device, and wait until it boots. When it finishes booting, change the screen timeout to 30 mkins, and every 20 mins touch the screen. Hope this helped xD
Well, I was just asking, but thanks.
Lol, what if I had a unremovable battery?

Going to need a little more info, for a good guess.
Could be the battery, the last app you installed, trying to connect-reconnect to wifi, did you do nandroid backup ?
Backup and do a Factory Reset.

YouTube doesn't go into landscape mode.

It's happening on a couple apps, they don't seem to sense that I'm holding the phone in landscape. I've cleared cache and I've done a soft reset. Running the base 7.3 with no other problems. Any ideas?
Thanks

Did you happen to have flashed Nocturnal mod ?
I flashed it, didn't like it so I tried to restore. Got an MD5 error so I had to flash the base again to get rid of the nocturnal mod.

I had the exact same happen to me, tried everything I could think of to fix it. Finally had to use lgnpst to restore, then reroot unlock and flash base.
I think I'll just wait to see if the next rom fixes it if that's the case. Does anyone know if there is an option to calibrate the sensors? I've looked but haven't found it

Under display in system settings, the last option but it will not help. You can be up and running in no time, lgnpst doesn't wipe data and there is an automated install script. Once you have everything downloaded it runs in few minutes.
I'll try that then, thanks

Had exactly the same issue, also proximity sensor to turn off screen in call was broken

I am getting this issue

Starting yesterday I started getting this issue. Before I go to the Sprint store I figured I would come here to try and fix.
I have performed 2 hard resets and it is still happening. The funny thing is this started happening after the new year. Any thoughts?

you are right that this issue started with the new year. we think that is has something facebook contact storage. first thing to try is to open the facebook app and turn off the contacts sync from the app settings.
edit: the problem is with a contact that has a birthday on feb 29. weird right?
I tried booting into recovery w/o success. BTW I am non rooted stock.
I went into facebook settings and seleced contacts to not sync. Then reset and still same problem.
Uninstalled Facebook, still having problem. I will try another reset and see what happens.

You are kinda limited as to what you can do being that you are stock you could try taking it to sprint or calling them and see if they can help
