Hello all. I have a problem with my SD card. I can access it and use it for storage on my O1. The only thing is that when connected via USB I get a error message saying "There is a problem using your SD Card......" If I press on the message, my status bar FCs. However, when I mount USB in recovery, it works fine. Any help?
1st verify which rom u using and class SD card should be above 4 or even 4 ok
Mahesh
I have a problem with my sd.
It used to be partitioned but I stopped using data2sd and after I installed official GB I formatted it in order to remove the partition. After all this my SD is behaving like a floppy disk :| It took me 1 hour to copy ~850mb of data on it. A 4mb file used to transfer instantly and now it takes ~ 30secs.
I'm not really interested in buying another larger SD because I don't need more space but I'm intersted if I can do something about this or if the warranty covers it, because I have to send my phone to service anyway (drops the signal and doesn't regain it unless I restart it)
When your phone is broken then debugging any issues with SD card in it is absolutely useless. Use a card reader and test again.
(Also, formatting does NOT remove partitions.)
All glitches will go away when you install official rom.
Formatting from the phone menu removed my ext. Windows reads 1.86gb of capacity so if my ext was still there then windows would have shown 500mb of capacity less.
Edit: ran a benchmark and it shows 6.7 write and 18 read. My pc isn't the problem because this also happens when I use my laptop for transfers so can the device be the problem?
I already have the official rom, my glitches didn't go away no matter what rom I use.

As already said, debugging this with broken phone is a pure waste of time. Apparently it has more glitches than just the signal drop off. Get it repaired.

Just flashed it with KDZ for service and after this my sd started working normally.
Anyway I really have to get it repaired (I'll take it to vdf today) because the signal drop is a real problem. Oh and this morning I had signal but couldn't make calls. A restart fixed it.
Plus battery life got noticeably shorter
Plus a yellowish light spot on the bottom right corner of the screen (probably lighting issues, hopefully they will fix it cause it bugs me)
Plus many white dots on the top of the screen on black background (ex. boot logo, black statusbar etc; not always, but very often)
200 euros badly spent No matter, I'm going to replace it soon, this time with a real phone.
So i searched for the answer for this problem and have found no threads on it.
The problem is that my STOCK amaze 4G keeps telling me that I have "insufficient storage available" when I am trying to install updates. The updates that I'm having trouble with are HTC WATCH, Facebook, Google Maps, and a few others. These are the main ones though. I noticed that it started doing this after Google decided to switch from MARKET to PLAY STORE.
Can anyone give me any suggestions on how to fix this. I have over 250MB of RAM left on my phone, 14GB available on my SD Card, and 7.65GB of available phone storage, and 203MB available of Internal Storage.
Thanks!
try moving some of your apps to the sd card and try again. sounds like your internal memory is too low

Agreed, this is likely the issue. I finally ran across this myself, moved a bunch of big apps to sd and then had enough room.
I've literally moved everything I can to my SD card :/
I think I might just have to do a factory reset...
I had that exact issue, only went away when I rooted. Factory reset 2x; nothing.

I truly think Energy ROM is the best out of the ones I tried. It's the most stable and all features work solidly. The battery virtually doesn't change when the phone is locked and not in use, and its the only ROM that lasts me all day.
Bulletproof 2.5 is pretty stable, but its hosted at a different site. You will have to Google it. There are only a couple handfuls of ROMs for this phone, so if you have the time, it would be best to try them all. But as of right now, NRGZ28 (Energy ROM) and XBoarder56 (Bulletproof 2.5) are the main 2 developers for this phone, but we have quite a few others attempting to make the leap

Thanks for the help. I've been a huge fan of NRGZ28's work for a while now, used his ROMS on my HD2. I'll definitely give these a try!

Your problem is the phone uses the internal memory as the sd card. The real sd card is actually listed as ext_sd and the phone does not use it as it should. Its strange and no one seems to be talking about it.
do you know how to fix that?

If you use the phone without the ext SD, I think that forces it to use the internal

I've used it with my 16GB external SD since the day I got it. Still couldn't figure out why it wouldnt let me update anything.
Today i restarted my phone and noticed that it uninstalled about 15 apps out of nowhere! Decided to just do a Factory Reset, all is good so far.
205mb of internal memory thats your problem thats out of 10gigs total its full. Like i said the phone uses that internal memory 10gigs as the sd card that what its labeled as in any file manager. Go to. Sd card and open it you'll see ext_sd thats your real sd card. Dont know how to fix it seems like a programming error. The phone just dosent save anything to ext_sd so it sits unused at least for apps. I think it does store pics there.
Edit: my bad i think in your case the 7gigs free is your internal memory and the 205mb is the 2gig of phone memory either way its full.

Thats not correct it uses the internal memory for apps real sd card inserted or not at least unrooted. It calls that internal space sd card for some reason i cant understand. A real. Sd card is in the sd card folder called ext_sd check it out.
same device, same freaking problem
tons of memory (48gb). Always got bogged by "insufficient storage available" and apps bizarrely disappear and reappear, and sometimes disappeared forever (need to redownload every single time).
Have tried your advice to move apps to SD but problem didn't go off. You don't need to root it. This solves it.
http://www.ganshani.com/2012/01/11/fix-insufficient-storage-available-on-android/
I had this problem this morning and tried all sorts of things
-Deleting the temp cache of used programs
-Uninstalling programs
-Moving programs to sd card.
Nothing worked.
What DID work was deleting a bunch of mms/sms messages. As soon as I did that and rebooted problem solved (for me at least).
Amaze 4G low memory
HTC posted an application on the market for this. Search for Amaze memory clear
Sometimes when you have a fresh install and if it does not allow you to install apps (insufficient storage available) even after a factory reset, this command should fix it (if you have s-off or unlocked bootloader)
Mind you, this command wipes all userdata and cache.
fastboot -w
This has fixed the insufficient storage available for me
Hey guys!
From the last two to three days I have been experiencing quick battery drain from my s3. I just charged it 10 mins agi and now my batt r ty is down to 95%. I had my s 3 since February and never had this problem until a few days ago. Going into the settings and battety it says tha media is using the battery 49%. I dont know whats the problem. I also took out my SD card as I thought that it might the the problem but I've had no luck.
Thanks

Please post in the correct sections. Therad moved to proper forum.
Please excuse my mistake!
seems ngnsao
Also after an hour after charging it fully its now at 85% after an hour .Usually its 93-4 percent after an hour. Also the Media is down to 34% now.
Media = downloads app

So what should i do? force stop it? I am not downloading anything.
You say % is going down? Means not doing anything. Suggest clear data on app and pull battery firstly
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
Yep After i put my SD Card back in the Media has gone up to using 65% of the battery.
use Rescan Media Root to disable it
So um i should use the rescan media after turning on my s3 always to stop it? Sorry for sounding a little thick.
Its not rooted by the way.
Hang on...
Is it media or media scanner?
All you have to do is copy all data from sd to pc, format card and copy data back.

Media Scanner
Thanks mate will try that

Sorry friend, it doesn't work. I'm having the same problem some days after update to MC2 standard+CF-root6.4+Philz4.96 recovery+triangle. The extSD is switched-off alleatory when the screen is off. When it's switched on, the message: "SD extracted" appear and sometimes you get "SD card corrupt" too. For this reason the system in cotinously trying to update the SD content by multimedia. The battery comsume is then extremly bigger than normal. I've check formating the sd card but only works for a few hours, then it fails again. Now I'm trying to fix it reinstalling the CF-root. At the moment it's working fine. I´ll tell you something later. Some people say to be a hardware problem, but I think it maybe a problem during the rom updating.

This is different issue. OPs problem is different. OP can fix it like I said. No need to stop scanner. Well known bug when newer OS version sees old data on sd. Just copy data off card, format and copy data should solve it.
Your problem may need a thread of its own

Mate i did what you said but there was no difference. The only thing which did change though was that Media Scanner now uses 30% of the battery where system (*wakelock*) now uses 35% of the battery.
Maybe i am being a little superstitious. Umm if my phone is on standbye for an hour.Without wifi gps or anyting how much battery should it use?
It will still need to scan your entire sd card once you put data back on. if after 24 hours it is still doing it, maybe your sdcard is faulty. Try another one?
Well the media scanner has stopped! The system wake lock is still working but I will see till the next 24 hours
I don't think it will be a faulty SD card as it's been working for the last year or so!
But I'll keep you posted! Thanks alot for your help mate!

This can turn faulty you know But I only said this incase what I said didnt work, but now it looks like it did
does this happen to anyone else? the application color fills the entire space despite having 7+ gigs of free space.
bueller..
No sorry, my phone is reporting normally. I have 9.21gb free after what the OS takes up. Since your phone is pretty new (at most 3 or 4 days old) i would do an FDR and see if it fixes it and if not swap it out. Obviously something is corrupt if an FDR doesn't fix it and you didn't actually put 7gb+ of stuff on the phone.

Hi im on B382 non root. I have been using h7 since nov 2015. over the past 2 3 months my phone has become really slow and sluggish. The apps take time to open. Moderate Games lag. Home screen relapses at times. It all works well if i restart the phone but after 2 or 3 days the problems returns.

It seems like you need to free up some space.
If it does not work, reset the phone. It fixes in most of cases.
