I have a Samsung Exhibit 4g that I am trying to restore back to its original state but the phone comes up with. I am pretty sure it was bricked.
E:failed to mount /cache (invalid argument)
ECan't mount /cache/recovery/recovery_kernel_log
and so on..
When I tried to flash a ROM via SD card it says installation aborted
could anyone give me the files so that I can flash them in Odin?
and also if I can get CWM from here maybe via a new kernel, because right now it is the stock kernel.
Please help, Thank you!

Hello everyone
Today my phone randomly went into ***** mode and it didn't do anything when I pressed the home or power button. So I pulled out the battery and put it back in and started up the phone as this wasn't the first time that something likes this happend. But it didn't do anything. It just showed the Galaxy S III logo and that's it. So I tried to boot in recovery and tried to wipe all my data. But it gave like a thousand errors saying: Can't mount /cache/ ... Can't mount /sdcard/ etc... So I tried to flash stock rom with odin. It failed. So I googled about my problem and tried to flash the PIT (don't know if i'm saying it correctly) and it gives this error:

So after some research I found out about SDS (sudden death syndrome). It seems that my internal memory is damaged and I have to get a new motherboard or a new phone? Is there any way to fix this? As I can still acces download mode and recovery mode (although none of the functions work).
I had cyanogenmod 11.2 M12 on it, so android 4.4.
Thanks!
Try the rescue firmware from general forum, flash with the pit file that thread contains.
If that fails then downgrade bootloader to BLFB first before flashing.
If none of that works then nand is burned out, time for a new phone.
nope, none of the solutions you said worked, guess it's time for a new phone... RIP my $$$

Sudden death didn't be fixed in 4.1.2 ?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using XDA Free mobile app
Sudden death was due to a bug in the nand memory wear levelling code, the memory still wears out now -but not so fast.

i try again and again but it doesn't work and as for a custom ROM like cyanogen mod that's where i got the problem because it doesn't support ace i so i installed some kernel (or something like that , this thing kernel_CM7_v4.0_cooperve.zip) and my phone got bricked
I can try another ROM but i'm afraid that it'll make things even worse.
maybe you need to flash cwm recovery and format system, data and chache partition. after that try to reflash stock rom
A few days back I was trying to flash stock firmware on my S6 edge and Odin failed in between of the flashing since then My phone started showing a blue screen which basically said to use smart switch emergency software recovery but when I open smart switch It says Unsupported Device So I cannot use smart switch on my phone. Yesterday I flashed PIT file Now I do not have that error screen But my phone can only go in download mode and stock recovery. When I try to flash Stock firmware from Odin It gets stuck

On a side note, I bought this phone second hand on the back of the phone theres a 16 digit Imei if i remove the last digit and search it on an IMEI checker it says my model number is G925A where as when the phone worked it showed G925F I have tried Flashing Att pit but that doesnt work. Is there something I should know about a 16 digit imei?

were you able to figure out the issue yet? i am having the same exact problem on my s7.
I sent it to a local phone repair shop and they fixed it, try to find the combination file(if you know how to use it) and i personally think after the combination file is flashed, you will be able to flash the stock firmware again with no issues.
I DID NOT TRY THIS METHOD, but i think it would work.
I personally would try it. It's up to you.
Kind regards,
